  • Fargo-Minneapolis-Cancun and back the same way
    Sep 22, 2016

I am flying Fargo to Minneapolis with a 1 hour layover in Minneapolis then going to Cancun. The way back we are flying Cancun to Minneapolis with a 1 hour and 35 minute layover then heading back to Fargo. I am worried about our checked bag. do we have to pick it up and re check every time in Minneapolis or does it just transfer to the next plane?

On your way to Cancun all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in MSP. On the way back to Fargo you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. Both ways you should have enough time.

    Thank you for your help!

Hi am traveling from lax to Belize with a layover in Houston hobby will my luggage be transferred to my next flight right away

Yes, assuming both flights are on Southwest all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • 2 Reservations - How handle baggage?

I'm a newbie international traveler flying on Delta from Venice (VCE) through JFK to PHX. Because I used award travel from 2 different sources – I have 2 reservation numbers (1 for VCE to JFK leg and 1 for JFK to PHX leg). Questions: 1. Since all flights are on Delta, will I be able to check my luggage through to PHX at the Venice airport? I know I have to claim my luggage at JFK and go through customs but it would be so much easier if I already have luggage tags through to PHX and I can just drop my bags off at the luggage recheck. 2. If I can't check my luggage through to PHX from VCE – when I go through customs at JFK, do I have to go to ticketing to recheck my bags. I should already have my boarding pass from checking in online – but I won't have the luggage claim tags. I'm hoping there is a desk after customs that will allow me to get my luggage tags printed and recheck my bags without having to go through the whole check-in process. I would be most grateful for any answers or suggestions.

It's possible but unlikely that your bags can be checked through but it doesn't hurt to ask the agent in Venice. Yes, if your bags are tagged to PHX you will go to the Delta check-in desk to re-check your bags.

Does anyone know the skycap service inside security at IAH arrivals to help get luggage out.Would like to arrange a pick up for multiple bags coming in from overseas.

No, there is no such service. There will be carts to use in the International baggage claim.

I will be flying from Manila to hong kong , and Hong Kong to Vancouver with a connecting flight going to San Diego with atleast 3hours of lay over at YVR, so do i need to go get my baggages and check-in again knowing that I will be flying from the same airlines which is Air Canada?or my baggage will directly go to San Diego ?thanks in advance .

In Vancouver you will proceed directly to US Immigration and customs Preclearance. Your bags will be headed there where you will claim them to take them through US Customs.

  • Check bags through in GRU

I am flying from Lima on TACA, 13 hour layover in GUR then to JNB on SAA. All on one ticket issued by United. Will I have to collect my bags in GRU. If so, I will not be able to use the day hotel at GRU.

Since it sounds like your connection is over the day, then it sounds like your bags will be checked through.

Flying from GSP in SC, stopover in Atlanta , stopover in Amsterdam, to Budapest via Delta/KLM. What are immigration and customs procedures; will our check-in luggage go directly to Budapest?

In Amsterdam you just go through passport control and to your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your bags.

  • Will Delta check my baggage through?

Flying in on Delta from Johannesburg, South Africa, arriving at ATL just after 6 am and I depart on Vegas (domestic) to LAS VAGES at 8:25, is this enough time? Will I be able to check my luggage straight through from Johannesburg to Vegas?

Your bags will be tagged through to Las Vegas, but in Atlanta you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. You have enough time.

Hi, My mom is travelling from Toronto to Amman Jordan through Monreal, she has only 2:05 hrs transit, she is with a wheelchair as well. does she need to claim her baggages in Montreal and check them for her flight with RJ to Amman? P.S. she is travelling from Toronto to Montreal with Air Canada then from Montreal to Amman with the Royal Jordanian.

Are her flights on one reservation or two separate reservations?

she has one booking number for all her connection flights

Then all she has to do in Montreal is walk from her arrival gate to her departure gate. If Air Canada can't issue her Royal Jordanian boarding pass then she can get it at the gate in Montreal.

  • International Flight with Connection in Boston

I am arriving in Boston from Ponta Delgada on SATA on Sep 27 at 17:00. My JetBlue flight from Boston to Orlando leaves at 18:11. Will that leave us enough time? The JetBlue agent I spoke to said we really needed an 1.5 hours but may make it.

That's not a realistic connection, especially if you have checked bags. SATA also isn't really known for being on-time.

If I am taking a carry on through American Airlines what size backpack may I bring with it?

A normal size one that fits under the seat in front of you.

Hi! I am traveling from Sweden with SAS to ORD, arriving 6.35 pm. I then have a connecting flight (American Airlines) to Seattle leaving at 8.20. Is that enough time? I am not a US citizen and I'm scared I'm gonna be stuck in Chicago because there's so little time to make the connection!

That is very difficult - basically impossible if it's on two separate reservations.

I don't have separate reservations... Will 1hr and 45 mins be enough?

My son was told that his bags will be taken off the Qantas plane (Sydney to Dallas) and put on the American Airlines flight (Dalllas to Cancun) for him. Is that correct?? Is there no need for him to pick up his bags and check in for the Cancun flight? Does he just turn up to the departure gate?

He will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. He should ask a Qantas agent in DFW. AA has this procedure for AA to AA International to International connections, but I'm not sure if this is extended to Qantas to AA connections.

Thanks. I'll tell him what you said.

I have a connecting flight with the same carrier from London to ATL to New Orleans. Will I have to collect and check in my bag at ATL before my New Orleans flight? I only have 1h 40 to conenct

Yes, in Atlanta you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thanks for your reply. That puts mind at rest a bit. I have upgraded my seat so i'm at the front of economy. Hopefully that'll buy me a bit more time.

Hi. What is the earliest I can arrive to the airport before my flight and check my bags?

It depends what airline you're flying. If you're flying United, about 4:30 AM.
