I'm flying from LAX Aer Lingus to Dublin and then British Airways to London Heathrow. Can I check in my luggage all the way to London?

Were your tickets purchased on one reservation or two separate reservations?

    It was booked seperateky

You can ask the Aer Lingus agent in LAX. They do have an interline agreement, but since you purchased two separate reservations they are not obligated to check your bags through to London.

  • WRONG INFO!!

Please be aware that this website gives false information! I read that Virgin America allows your first checked bag to be up to 70 lbs, and all other bags 50 lbs. This is incorrect! ALL bags cannot exceed 50 lbs, regardless of whether it is the first and only checked bag. I trusted this website and had to pay the additional fee. AVOID THIS WEBSITE AND AVOID THE $50 OVERWEIGHT FEE.

Why didn't you just check the Virgin America website?

Obviously don't you think I know that now? My point is, why does a website like this even exist if it's unreliable.

Planning to arrive Boston at 1405 hrs by QR743V ( terminal E) and I have connecting flight to STL at 1709 hrs ( terminal B) . Will this halt time of 3hrs sufficient to checkout luggage , clear customs and recheck in? Quick response would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • flight from Dubai with connection

I am going to book flight from Dubai to jfk with Emirates. There is flight with connection in IAD which is less expensive than direct flight to JFK. May I book the flight with the connection and disregard the leg from JFk to IAD? I have baggage to check in.

If it's a one-way you can. If it's a roundtrip and not the end of then your trip, then the rest of your trip will get canceled if you skip a leg.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Can I get my baggage on JFK or they send the baggage directly to IAD?

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage in JFK to go through US Customs.

  • WOW baggage policies

I'm flying WOW from BWI to Iceland and know they have very strict size and weight requirements for carry-on baggage. Does anyone know if they weigh bags and at what point they do so (i.e. at check-in, pre-security, at the gate, etc.)? Thanks.

Every airline I've seen that strictly measures carry-on bags does so at the check-in counter and then again at the gate.

I am travelling from Athens to London to New York (JFK) with a over night 12 hour stop over before a flight the next morning to Miami. I want to know if I can collect my baggage in New York because I want to spend a night in a hotel.

Yes, you will have to collect your baggage to go through US Customs.

Travelling from Cancun on AA to connect with a flight out of DFW with Qantas to Sydney - as they are part of one alliance will the baggage be booked all the way through thnks

Yes, your bags will be tagged all the way though but you may have to claim it to go through US Customs in DFW.

  • Do i have to retrieve my checked in luggage for onward to DFW?

I come on from Brussels on a United Airlines to IAD, with an onward connection to DFW. Am i required to retrieve my checked in luggage and go through security again for check in to anothe United Airlines flight to DFW? And how much time do i need? Its my first time in the US, and on a non-immigrant visa

Yes, in IAD you will arrive in the C/D concourse, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate, which will likely also be on the C/D concourse. 90 minutes is possible, but 2 hours is better.

  • WINDSOR TO PMO

Im traveling from Windsor, Ontario to PMO via Toronto then FCO. booked complete with Air Canada. I have less than 2 hour to get from one terminal to another. not sure if I have to claim baggage or will they be transferred through to PMO my final destination???

If everything is on the same reservation then your bags will be checked through to Palermo. All you have to do in Rome is go through passport control and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

I'm flying AMS-JFK-MIA, with a 6,5 hour layover at JFK. Will Delta allow me to re-checkin my baggage 6,5 hour before the next flight? All flights are with Delta, thanks a lot!

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem.

We are traveling in July to Stockholm on Delta. We will start out in Roanoke at 7 am and arrive at JFK at 2:20 pm. Our flight to Stockholm leaves at 4:37 pm. We plan on checking luggage through from Roanoke. Is two hours ample time to catch the shuttle from Terminal 2 and get to Terminal 4. We won't have to do anything with our luggage will we?

Yes, that is enough time, you don't have to do anything with your bags. Your flight from Atlanta may even arrive in Terminal 4.

  • JFK to LHR

Booked connecting flight from LAX to JFK and then JFK to LHR. First flight through Delta, second through Virgin. Both bought directly drom Virgin. Do I need to claim my bags and go through customs and re-check them?

There is no US Customs when exiting the US nor is there customs after taking a domestic flight. If you show your Virgin confirmation to the Delta agent in LAX they should be willing to check your bags through to LHR. Otherwise you just have to claim them, re-check them with Virgin Atlantic, and then go through security.

When flying internationally, is the weight of your computer and dslr camera added onto the carry on limit?

As long as it fits in the dimensions, it should be fine. I've never seen any airline weigh carry-ons. A camera bag or computer bag/briefcase can count as a personal item.

Doesn't it weight it as it goes under the X Ray belt?

    No, it does not.

Then why is there a weight limit for carry on + accessory for air France?

So they can say no if you insist on bringing something totally stupid onboard.
