Permanent resident entering JFK 2PM on Tuesday with 3 hour layover. Arrival on Ukraine International changing to Virgin America on same reservation T7 to T4. UIA may (or may not) tag the bag past JFK. Will re-check take the bag in either case or will it need to be huffed to T4. I do so worry about time.

I have never flown into ORD. I will be flying in from Zurich with United, then on to Little Rock. Do I claim my bag and then re-check it so I can go through customs?

Your flight to Chicago will be operated by Swiss. You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 1 or 2, go through security and to your departure gate.

I had a connecting flight last night and missed the last one going to Jamaica last night but I'm on the next plane out his morning. Will my bags be lost? Or will I be able to get them since it was last night?????

Your bags will either be on the same flight as you if they missed the connection too, or they will be waiting for you in the bag office in Kingston.

I will arrive at 11:30 am terminal 1 international flight and i have delta fligh to orland 3.45 pm Can i recived my baggage directlly in orlando or i need recived and cler cutom then what?

In T1 you will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through customs. if your bags are tagged through to Orlando, then you re-check your bags at the re-check desk, take the AirTrain to your departure terminal (Delta flights to Orlando currently appear to depart from Terminal 2), go through security and to your departure gate.

Hi, I am flying from US to London with AA and get my luggage for free. Then from London to Barcelona with BA. I reserved the whole trip with AA. Will I have to pay for luggage on BA? thanks

You won't even claim your luggage in London.

  • Collect Bags at FCO enroute to FLR

Hi...I am flying Toronto to Rome on Air Canada, and have add-on deal Alitalia flight Rome to Florence that I do not intend to use. Do I normally need to collect bags at Rome FCO if I was to indeed fly onward to FLR? Can I instead ask Air Canada for Bags to be on belt at FCO instead of final ticket destination FLR, so that I can end my journey at FCO as intended?......Thanks in advance for help.

If your tickets are on the same reservation then you would not normally claim your bags in Rome. I don't know if Air Canada will be able to only tag your bags to Rome.

  • How long from landing to reaching arrival hall at LAX?

Will be arriving at LAX Term 3 on a domestic flight at 14:30 on a Friday afternoon in May. We have to collect checked baggage. How long does it typically take to get from plane to a taxi outside the arrival hall.

It depends how long your bags take to come out - anywhere between 5 and 30 minutes.

Thanks for that, so pretty quick.

I'm travelling from the UK to Atlanta Via Amsterdam. I have a 1hr and 20 minutes in Amsterdam. My flight from the UK to AMS is KLM and my flight from AMS to ATL is Delta but they were booked together from Delta. Will this be enough time to make my second flight? Will I have to recheck my checked baggage in AMS? Will I have to go through any security controls or can I just go from Arrival gate to Departure gate without having to recheck my baggage etc? Also I don't think I do but do I require any type of visa for transferring via AMS (I have an ESTA for going to the US) Because the laws have changed the information online is very confusing. Thank you for your time.

You don't have to do anything with your bags in Amsterdam, You just have to go through US Security questions and to your departure gate. If you are a UK Citizen you do not need anything other than ESTA to visit the United states and you do not need a visa to enter the Schengen Area. Nothing regarding this has changed in the last 10 years or so.

Actually, to be fair, the Amsterdam Airport has changed a bit recently, by switching to centralized security.

  • Connecting Flight times?

I am arriving on Delta Flight form Miami at 18:34 and am travelling on to Dublin. Would I have time to take the 21:00 operated by Aer Lingus or should I take the 22:00 operated by Aer France?

If you are booking two separate reservations and have checked bags I would definitely book the later flight.

  • transfer from LHR to Chihuahua via Fort worth

On April 28th I fly from BA fro LHR to Chihuahua arriving dallas at 17.05, the connecting flight is 18.40. Do I have to collect my luggage. is there enough time for a transfer?

Since you are on an International to International itinerary, then you should not have to claim your bags in DFW but you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and security. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • rechecking baggage and clearing customs

hi I am travelling from Sydney to Vancouver on united airlines via LAX .do I have to clear us immigrations and claim baggage and then recheck it

Yes, you will arrive in the International Terminal, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then walk to Terminal 7 and go through security and to your departure gate.

thanks you for you response do you how long it will take to clear customs at lax

I flew from French Polynesia to Vancouver via LAX. I had 2.5 hours between flights but due to the delays in clearing US customs, I DID NOT make my connection. Customs at LAX is a night mare if you had a bunch of flights full of non-english speakers land before you. You must first speak with an agent. Then you must get your luggage and go thru another inspection for USDA. Takes a very long time

My AA flight from San Fran to Orlando has a layover time of 47 mins in DFW from 0613 until 0700. Is this normally enough time for my checked hold baggage to be transferred to my connecting flight, Couldn't edit/delete last post

Yes, that should be enough time.

Thanks, I'll probably still panic though

  • lost baggage

I lost a large suitcase (29in silver Delsey hardcase) in November when I checked it in at the Norwegian desk. The desk agent never put a tag on it, so they have no record of the bag other than when I checked it in. I filed a report at my destination (London Gatwick) and Norwegian hasn't been able to tell me anything. There's literally no trace of it. AND my name was on the tag, and written on the inside with my phone number. Even the Norwegian agent said it was weird. Where is lost baggage held at JFK? I assume (hope) it went to a lost and found at JFK, but walking around for hours, I was unable to find anything of the sort (and I travel a lot, this isn't the first time I've been there) Because it didn't have an airline's tag on it, I assume it was kept at JFK instead of being sent to an airline's headquarters (or wherever they hold their lost baggage) As anyone who has flown with Norwegian knows, they don't have a permanent desk, they share with a Chinese airline, as well as others. Does anyone know what those other airlines are? I'm desperate at this point, and would try calling them to ask if it was accidentally sent to their headquarters instead of Norwegian's. (Norwegian told me all baggage gets sent to their headquarters in Norway after a certain period of time) I filed a claim with Norwegian, but I just want my bag back, it's much more valuable than whatever they would give me as compensation. thank you for your help

  • International flight connecting thru JFk

I'm flying from Dallas/Ft Worth airport to Milan, Italy and connecting through JFK. Both flights are with the same airline and the layover is 6 hours. According to the itinerary, I fly into terminal 1 and fly out of terminal 8 in JFK. For this trip, will I retrieve my checked baggage, to include my 2 pets, to go through customs and immigration and then recheck before my flight? Will 6 hours be sufficient time?

Your itnerary is very incorrect. On your way to Milan you do not go through US Immigration or Customs and if both flights are on American then they will both be in Terminal 8. Please double check your itinerary.
