  • No passing Customs when transfer flight???
    Sep 10, 2016
Hi All, Im conerning my case: I'm flying with American Ảirlines from IAD to LAX arriving at 9:30pm and departing from LAX to HK with Cathay Pacific Airlines at 11:30pm. The thing I much worry is that when I arrived LAX I coundnt find customs to get stamped exit and went straight to departure gate to leave the US. I mean if I didnt do the customs clearance in LAX and will I be stopped when travelling the US in next time??? Your advice is much appreciate

The US does not issue exit stamps. There is no US Customs when exiting the US. Cathay will check your passport when you board the aircraft and has your passport # on record and will report to the US Immigration authorities that you left the country.

  • Connecting flights and baggage

I am flying Qantas to Singapore then flying Swiss to Zurich. Will my baggage be transferred in Singapore from the Qantas to Swiss planes? Or am I required to collect my bag and check it in again?

Are your flights all on the same reservation or are on they on two separate reservations?

I am flying from London Heathrow to PHL with a connection to Orlando - do I need to go through passport control/customs, get my bags and then re-check in?

Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Would like to know if a passenger like myself can fly food with me from one state to another?

Yes, you can. There are no rules about transporting food across state lines.

When does the immigration open in Terminal C (united)?

It is open when any international flight arrives.

  • Layover times and connecting flights
    Aug 17, 2016
Arriving from Minneapolis to Seattle at 9:45 pm. Connecting flight to Victoria at 10:30. Is 45 min layover enough time to make connecting flight? Would baggage have to be picked up and cleared through immigration/customs or would it go automatically to connecting flight?

If both flights are on the same reservation then that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US.

  • Getting from A to C
    Aug 7, 2016
Hi, we are flying in to Newark tomorrow for a connecting flight. We arrive in terminal A at 12:09. Our next flight takes off from C at 12:59. Will we have enough time to make the connection without having to run? About how long will it take? Thank you.

If you are flying into EWR on United Express then they run a shuttle bus inside security to Terminal C and you have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Vancouver to San Francisco and then Japan
    Aug 1, 2016
My son (a US citizen) is leaving travelling from Vancouver BC to Tokyo via San Francisco. When he arrives in San Francisco, will he have to claim his bag and then clear customs and then recheck his bag before his flight to Tokyo?

No, he will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. If both flights are on the same reservation then all he has to do is go from his arrival gate to his departure gate.

Thanks ZAP...appreciate your response. I'll relay the information.

  • Enough time?
    Jul 26, 2016
We are arriving to MIA from Barbados tomorrow at 10:36, our connecting flight leaves to Denver at 12:15. All on AA. Is there enough time to get though customs? 1:40 mins?

That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly. I think it's more likely than not that you'll miss your connection. It's early enough that they can probably still get you to Denver that day, likely through DFW.
