I'm flying from Toronto to Nice with a 2 hour and 20 minute connection in Frankfurt. Do I have to collect my bags and go through immigration in Frankfurt?

In Frankfurt you will go through Schengen passport control but as long as all tickets are on the same reservation, you don't have to do anything with your bags.

I am a US citizen entering SFO from Seoul, South Korea. The UA flight will arrive at 11:15am and my connecting flight departs at 1:17pm. I will have one checked luggage. Is 2 hours enough time to make it to my connecting flight?

No need to ask the same question twice.

Hi...i am travaeling from portland to seattle by alaska airlines and have a flight from seattle to dubai .Tickets are in the same itenary Do I need to go for luggage collection and check in /Security checking again?Do I need to go for customs/immigration clearance or everything will be done in Portland itself? Please advice. Thanks in advance

No, there is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

You will go through security in Portland and show your passport to the gate agent when boarding the flight to Dubai in Seattle.

    Thanks a lot

Hi! I'll visit usa with travel visa. I'm arriving from Instanbul at 7:35 pm in terminal J with Turkish Airline. I have another flight at 9:54 pm from terminal D with American Airlines. These are two separate tickets. I will have just carry-on baggage and about 2 hours and 15 minutes layover. Will I make it?

Yes, but you'll have to check in for your AA flight online before you leave Istanbul and hurry to terminal D after you clear customs.

  • What is Sufficient Transit time in LAX for International Flights
    Dec 28, 2015

Hi, I am planning to fly from Toronto, Canada to Tokyo with a stopover at LAX. The incoming flight is Air Canada (Terminal 2 at LAX) and the departing flight is All Nippon Airways (Terminal TBIT at LAX). The time to connect is 90 mins. Is this enough time and do I have to checkout and recheck-in my bags at LA? Thanks.

If both flights are on the same reservation you won't have to do anything with your bags in LAX. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. In LAX All you have to do is exit Terminal 2, walk to the International Terminal and go through security. You should have enough time.

  • FCO to PIT via JFK
    Dec 2, 2015

I arrive at JFK at 6:55pm from FCO and will have the flight for PIT at 8:28pm... unique reservation with Alitalia-Delta... will 1h 33m be enough to transfer from T1 to T4 for the fly to PIT? Thanks!!! Fly is on dec 8th!!

That should be just enough time if your flight from Rome is on-time. You will arrive in Terminal 1, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the AirTrain to T4 and go through security.

Is the re-check desk just after US Customs?

    Yes, it is.

Thanks a lot for the help! One last question: is the air train to T4 free?

Yes, transfer between terminals is free.

    Thanks a lot!!!!

I am arriving on allegiant airlines ....gate c....I have to pick up bags at baggage claim and connect on South west how do I do this

You just follow signs to the baggage claim upon arrival - the Allegiant baggage claim is in Terminal 1 where you will arrive. Then take the escalator up to the esplanade, walk across the departure road (the esplanade has a bridge over the road), and then take the escalator down to the ticketing level and re-check your bags with Southwest.

  • Flight to Tokyo through Toronto
    Nov 22, 2015

Two Questions.... Flying on Air Canada from ORD to Okinawa with layovers in Toronto (2-/12 hr) and Tokyo (3 hours). Will I have to do anything upon entering Canada or just go to my connecting gate for the Toronto to Tokyo portion of the trip? Second question. Flying out at 8:30 on Friday (11/27), checking 2 bags; will arriving 90 minutes early allow sufficient time? Wasn't sure if I needed more time over the holiday weekend. Thanks.

You will have to go through Canadian Immigration in Toronto. 90 minutes should be enough time to check in, but if you can get there a little earlier it wouldn't hurt. Usually the day after Thanksgiving isn't too busy.
