  • FROM T4 TO T2
    Mar 14, 2017
Arriving from Brussels with Delta at T4 an take an intern Delta flight at T2. Do I have to catch my luggage, go through immagration (Belgian citizen) and customs ? This is the first time and I'm a little confused. Have plenty of time between the two flights. Please tell me how and what to do.

Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the AirTrain to T2 and go through security.

  • Connecting Flights Delta Airlines at Laguardia First Time Flyer
    Mar 13, 2017
I will be arriving at LGA at 7:30 a.m. to then connect to a 10:a.m. departure flight to MSP. How far away are the two terminals and will I have enough time?

All delta gates are connected inside security. You can walk between them all in 15 minutes. You have plenty of time.

Thanks so very much ZAP. Have you been to the Minneapolis, Chicago and Philadelphia airports? Had similar questions regarding the arrival and departure gates at those airports. Thanks

Yes, I have been to all three airports - although I haven't been to Philadelphia in a long time (but I have a lot of information on it).

Terminal 1 in Minneapolis Delta; Terminal 3 in Chicago ORD American Airlines. How are the gates in these terminals. Thanks

MSP is a very nice airport. If you are flying American the American gates are in a small area. Terminal 3 at ORD is fairly simple and all gates are connected inside security.

Sorry, I read now that you are flying Delta out of MSP. Delta uses almost all of Terminal 1. It is generally pretty nice. Some of the gate areas are small but they are really only used for small aircraft.

You are so very kind to help with your advice and experience. My mind is so at ease now. I really appreciate your help!

Flying from Anaheim to Victoria via Seattle where do I go thru customs

You go through Canadian immigration and Customs in Victoria. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

  • How to transfer
    Mar 12, 2017
Me again, forgot to ask how to do we go about transferring domestic delta flight to Asiana airlines international flight. thanks

You will claim your bags, take the AirTrain to Terminal 4 if you arrive in 2, re-check your bags with Asiana, and go through security.

  • Domestic to International flights
    Mar 12, 2017
Hi! Our delta fight from Orlando arrives at 10:05 am at JFK. Our Asiana airlines flight is at 1:25 pm. Separate reservations. Will there be enough time? are they the same terminal? thanks

You will arrive in Terminal 2 or 4 and depart from 4. Since you are on two separate reservations you will have to exit security to claim and re-check your bags anyway. You should have enough time.

  • staying at yodel
    Mar 5, 2017
we are arriving at 5:40 am from the US and have a connecting flight at 11:50 to Rome. we plan to spend a few hours at the Yodel in the airport. Will we have to go through Passport check from the arrival gate to the Yodel? Also, how much time should we allow for leaving the Yodel and getting to the gate for our departure? thanks so much,

The Yotel is in the international transit area. So you will go through passport control when you leave the Yotel to go to your departure gate for your Rome flight. I would leave the Yotel at least an hour before your flight to Rome.

  • Baggage Policy UNITED
    Feb 18, 2017
The info in iFly regards baggage charge in UNITED for international travel has changed. I have flown with UNITED for long time and when traveling to Mexico first checked in baggage was free as this site informs. Now, they will charge 25 dollars for the first checked in baggage to Canada, Mexico and Central America! Unbelievable and so unfair! Thanks for reading!

They have done this since 2008.

  • Saskatoon - > Calgary -> San Franciso -> Tokyo
    Jan 28, 2017
I'm flying from Saskatoon to Calgary and then to Tokyo, Japan with a 1:30h layover in San Francisco. Will I have enough time to make my connecting flight to Tokyo? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

  • Will I have enough time to clear customs and get to FLL?
    Jan 28, 2017
Flying in from Merida to MIA, then flying out of FLL. If I have two hours, maybe a bit more, between flights, will that be enough time to clear customs and get over to FLL?

No, that's probably not enough time, especially if you have bags to claim in Miami and re-check in Fort Lauderdale.

Where are you flying into JFK from? Do you have checked bags? Is your caps lock key broken?

I fly from PVG CHINA to Tampa Florida, bout fly with AA, connecting time in DWF is 1 hour and 45 min.IS it necessary to take my luggage or the transfer is automatic ? or is it better if I have just my personal luggage?

Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and then take the Skylink train to your departure gate. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly. Obviously, only bringing carry-ons does make it easier.

  • 40 MIN CONNECTION between domestic and international flight
    Jan 16, 2017
I am flying with AA from Tampa to Shanghai China , and have 40 min for connection in DFW. Will I make it?

Yes, that's possible but it leaves no time to spare. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • customs on international flight when connecting on to another county
    Jan 10, 2017
I am flying seattle to tokyo with a 110 min layover and connecting on to a flight to kuala lumpur. The first is a delta flight then ANA airlines on to KL. Do I go through customs in Tokyo if I am not leaving the airport? Or to I go through customs when I reach Kuala Lumpur?

If both flights are on the same reservation, you won't go through Japanese immigration or customs in Tokyo. All you do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You go through Malaysian immigration and customs in Kuala Lumpur. If it's two separate reservations then you will have to go through passport control to claim and transfer your bags.
