  • disabled flying solo on southwest

I can not get any info please help. I am disabled, flying with my cat from Midway to McAllen Tx. I am flying alone and there is no one here to help me once I get to the airport with my luggage. Does Midway have a service for disabled people that helps them with getting the luggage to the check in ? Thank you for any info.

For wheelchair assistance you need to call your airline 24 hrs prior to departure, so that someone will be outside at curb helping you all the way to the gate. Also find out about their pet policy. If you can put your cat (in kennel) in front of your feet inside the plane - it would not cost you extra & would be more humane for the cat (you can also find airline info regarding wheelchairs and pets on your computer (www. airline name.com) 2. As to Terminal service, ask for the 'Purple Airplane Sticker from any Airport or Security staff -and trained Airport volunteers will be happy to assist you. Both the Garage & Economy parking have special parking spaces. The economy lot has a free shuttle bus with lift (tel. 1-773-838-0756.)

  • FLYING DELTA TO AMS CONNECTING TO BUD
    Apr 12, 2014
    2
Flying delta from Atlanta to AMS, connecting flight on KLM to BUD do I have to claim bags and re-check? Do I have to go through customs?

On arrival at AMS after passport control, follow signs to 'Baggage Hall' located on the ground level, retrieve your bags, & go through customs for security check. If connecting to a Schengen country, go through ticket control & security check.

Ignore saapr - his directions are completely wrong. Since Budapest is outside the Schengen Area, you can make a completely sterile connection at AMS, just follow the signs from your arrival gate to your departure gate, where you will go through security. You don't have to do anything with your bags.

  • Connecting time between flights

I'm traveling from Tucson to Denver to Montreal on United, arriving in Denver at 9:23 am on a Saturday. I have one hour 52 minutes between flights. Will that be enough time to comfortably get through the airport and make my connection.

Yes, both of your flights will be on concourse B. You should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

This is my first International trip, flying US Airways. Arriving FCO in Rome from Philadelphia, PA. What do I need to do when arriving at FCO? Where do I need to go to pick up baggage and get outside airport. I Need to get transportation to hotel.

You follow the signs to immigration and baggage claim. How you get transportation depends on where you're going.

  • Time for customs?
    Feb 16, 2014

If I arrive from Moscow at 1:25 PM. Would I be able to go through customs and catch an added flight #3379 by 2:55PM?

What airport are you connecting at? What airlines are your flights on?

flying in on Aeroflot, flying out on United 3379. I wanted to add this last flight, not on my itinerary.

Sorry, I am flying into Dulles International on Aeroflot.

It will be hard to make that connection but it is doable. You will arrive in Terminal B and be transported to the International Arrivals Building for US Immigration where you will claim your baggage and go through customs. Then, if your tickets are tagged through to Norfolk you can drop your bags at the re-check desk, otherwise you will have to take them up to the departures level, go to the United ticket counter, and check in and pay a bag fee. You will also get your United boarding pass then. You will then go through security and then take the Mobile lounge or AeroTrain to your departure gate (which will likely be in Concourse A or C). That is a lot to do in just 90 minutes.

ZAP, Thank you for your time, I have opted to get picked up at Dulles, and drive back to Norfolk with my son.

  • What to bring??

Besides my ID and my luggage of course, what else do I need to bring to the airport? Boarding pass? Or will I get that when I check in? First time flying alone, thanks.

For domestic flights you need picture ID. If you bought ticket online, you can either print out your baggage tag at home or at the airport (if you have bags to check in) For international flights you need a valid (for another 6 mos) passport. For specific airport information open www.ifly.com, add your Airport on top and then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

You can usually print your boarding pass at home and on most airlines you should, but you can also get it at the airport. Also, if you have to check baggage and your airline has baggage fees you can usually save money paying for it at home online vs. at the airport. If you tell us the airport you're flying from, where you're going, and what airline you're flying we can help more.

How do I print out the boarding pass?? Flying AA

    At aa.com

I am traveling next Saturday on AA to Miami then to St Kitts. My flight is at 5:40 am. Is TSA open 24 hours at every terminal, should I plan on getting to the airport 2 hours ahead?

No, security is not open 24 hours a day. I imagine that the check-in counters will open at about 4:00 AM and that security will open between 4:00 and 4:30.

I am flying from Toronto to Vancouver on Westjet. I am then transferring to American Airlines to fly to Seattle. Where will I clear customs? Will I have to retrieve my bags? Is two hours enough time? Thanks!

American Airlines does not fly from Vancouver to Seattle, your flight is likely operated by Alaska Airlines/Horizon. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. When you do you will claim your baggage after clearing Immigration, go through customs, and then re-check it, then go through security and to your gate for your departure to Seattle. Yes, 2 hours should be enough time.

Yes, it is Alaskan Airlines. Sorry about that. What signage should I look for when I get off the plane in Vancouver? Is it easily marked? Am a nervous flyer.

The YVR Airport has a very good guide on connections there - http://www.yvr.ca/en/navigating-yvr/passenger-guides/connecting-through-yvr.aspx You follow the signs to USA Connections.

It's a done deal. FAA approved it.

Yes, but there will be no changes until at least the middle of next year.

  • Arriving from San Diego headed to Panama City Panama
    Nov 18, 2013

I'm arriving from San Diego, 2.5 hr connection time and then I'm headed to Panama City Panama. Do I need to pick up my luggage before I head to my connecting flight? When does one go through customs. First time flying solo. Help!

What airport are you connecting at?

    Houston-IAH

If both your flights were bought on the same ticket, then on the way to Panama City, no you won't have to claim your baggage, it should be checked all the way through to PTY. You will go through Panamanian immigration when you get to Panama. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. On the return, assuming you are again connecting at IAH, you will go through US immigration there, then claim your baggage, go through customs, and then re-check your bags at the re-check desk for your flight to San Diego, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Ok, thanks. That is what I was thinking would happen. So I'm assuming my 2.5 hrs is plenty of time to handle all of that. My return flights are the same.

Yes, that should be enough time.

I would like to know if I arrive from Kuala Lumpur(international ) to LAX at 13:05 and have a domestic connecting flight to Dallas AT 14:30PM would 1.5hours be suffice to connect the flight.? Can I clear immigration through transfer passenger area? Please advice

I would want at least 2.5 hours. That is a bit too short, especially if you have to transfer bags yourself.

thanks sir.what if I do not have any checked in baggage.can I make it on time? do I need to go through immigration?

Yes, you will have to go through Immigration in LAX. Then walk to the terminal your Dallas flight departs from, then get your boarding pass and go through security. If you have no baggage it's possible if your first flight is on-time and you really hurry.

My wife is due to arrive at LAX at 10:15pm from SEA; where she checked a bag. We are then flying out of LAX to STT at 11:39pm. Will we need to collect her bag from baggage claim and re-screen through security? Do we have enough time for this?

You're flying from LAX to St. Thomas? What airlines are you flying?

LAX to SEA on American. LAX to STT on jetblue. Called JetBlue already, not looking good.

American does not fly from Seattle to LAX, so your wife's flight is likely actually operated by Alaska Airlines, which will arrive in T6. You would have to take your bags across the airport from T6 to T3. It's possible to make that connection but I wouldn't bet on it. I'd try to move your wife's flight to earlier if possible as that would be cheaper and easier than trying to change your flight to St. Thomas. It may even be easiest just to buy a separate earlier flight SEA-LAX for her than trying to change her flight because of the change fee.

Thanks for the word! I'll encourage her to carry on instead.
