  • Is 90 minutes enough time to connect from Intl to Domestic at ATL?
    Jul 24, 2016
    3
On Aug. 11 I'm flying Air France from Rome to ATL, arriving at 5:32pm. My connection to LAX via Air France departs at 7:02pm. Will I have to clear customs at ATL before going to LAX flight? If so, is 90 minutes enough time?

Air France does not fly from Rome to Atlanta or Atlanta to LAX. Both flights will be operated by Delta. Yes, in Atlanta, you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and take the Plane Train to your departure gate. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Thanks for the thorough response. Much appreciated. We don't plan to check any bags on this trip. Will that significantly improve our chances of making the LAX flight?

It will help, I don't know how significantly.

  • Can transit passengers go to the Arrivals area, to meet some friends?
    Jul 22, 2016

Good afternoon, I have friends coming from Italy, that will transit in Amsterdam. As they have 5 hours before taking the other airplane, I want to meet them for 2 hours in the "Arrivals" area. Is this possible? Are they allowed to exit the transit area? Thank you very much for a quick answer (they are coming monday).

It depends on their citizenship. If they are EU nationals then yes they can do this. for other nationalities it may be more of an issue.

If I go to MCO via JFK. Do I go through immigration in JFK or MCO ?

If you are flying from outside the US, you will go through US Immigration and customs at your first point of entry, which in this case would be JFK, unless your origin has preclearance (some airports in Canada, Ireland, the Caribbean, and Abu Dhabi).

What time does the Pre-approved TSA line open at Terminal 1, Southwest? I have a 5:30am flight on Sunday morning and qualify for the faster lane.

The Precheck checkpoint in T1 opens at 4 AM.

Will be arriving at JFK from Paris in Oct 2016. Have 1hr 38 min. to make a connecting flight to Pittburgh. Is that enough time to clear customs, etc.?

What airlines are you flying? Is everything on the same reservation? I don't have enough information to answer your question.

I'm Booking my flights on Alaska. Going Round trip from CLT-OMA-SEA & SEA-DEN-CLT. The First flight there is American & 1st flight back is on Alaska. Which airline do I check in with at both airports? Is an 1hr 25min enough time to change terminals at DEN? PLEASE RESPOND! THANKS!

In Charlotte you check in with American and in Seattle you check in with Alaska. Denver only has one Terminal and bothh of your gates in Denver will be on Concourse A.

Arriving LAX 7pm from Cebu via PAL, 8:30 flight to salt lake via Southwest no lug except carry on, do I have enough time to catch 8:30 flight. Thanks

It's possible, but it leaves no time to spare and PAL isn't exactly punctual. I would try for a later flight.

  • terminal 1 transferring to terminal 3

I am flying for Toronto Canada to terminal 1 and transfer to terminal 3 for international flight to China. I have 45 minutes for the connection. Is this enough time and how long does it take.

IAD only has one terminal so your question us confusing. What airlines are you flying?

Sorry I am flying out of terminal 1 in TO with United airlines to catch my flight at terminal 3 flying with UA. I have 45 mins to catch my flight. Is this enough time and with my companion using a cane?

As I said - IAD only has one terminal. I don't know where you're getting "terminal 1 and terminal 3" as they don't exist. If both flights are on United they will likely both be on the C/D concourse. All you have to do in IAD is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto.

  • time to clear customs?

I have a 2hour window to come in from an international flight, get bags, go through customs/immigration, recheck bags, and get on my next plane. Is that enough time?

Where are you flying into Denver from? What airlines are you flying?

Flying in from London on British Airways, flying out on Alaska to Seattle.

If both tickets are on the same reservation that should be enough time.

They are not on the same reservation. I actually haven't reserved the flight out of Denver yet but I'm trying to avoid a 5 hour layover which is the next option.

In that case 2 hours is less than I'd want since you will have to go all the way out to the departure level to re-check your bags and then go through security.

  • 2hrs and 30 mins enough?
    Jun 20, 2016

Hi, I land in Frankfurt at 11:20 with flight SK 4755 in terminal 1. My next flight (CA 966) has a departure set for 13:55, also in terminal 1. Since the flight agencies are different, do I have to check in my luggage again before I leave? And do I have to go through EU control once I land? I'm worried there won't be enough time. Thank You.

I have a 30 minute layover from Air Wisconsin to PSA Airlines. Is that enough time to make it to the next gate?

Yes, that is enough time if the flight from Milwaukee is on-time.
