  • Connection to Vienna

I am flying into ORD on United and have to get to Terminal 5 to catch my flight to Vienna via Austrian Airlines. Since the tickets were booked on Cheap O'Air, I have to check in at the airport during my layover to get my seat placement. My layover is 1 hour and 17 minutes. Will this be enough time? I believe the check in counter closes 40 minutes before time to take off.

  • How much time to get from intl terminal to domestic on 2 tickets?

I have purchased a cheap ticket that flies from Ft. Lauderdale international airport to Copenhagen through Norwegian Airlines. I was planning on buying the cheapest ticket I can manage from Atlanta to Ft. Lauderdale. My outgoing flight leaves late in the day from FLL and there are plenty of available flights that day, but my return flight will arrive at FLL at 8:00 pm. The only flight after that leaves at 9:45 to Atlanta. Is one hour and 45 minutes sufficient to get from the international terminal to the domestc terminal? I will not have checked baggage, only a carry-on, and I will not be bringing anything that needs to be declared. My main worry is that the flight leaving from Copenhagen will be delayed, but it will leave in June so there won't be winter weather to worry about. Should I just buy an early morning ticket from FLL instead of a late night one?

1 hr 45 mins is possible without checked baggage. Be sure to check in online for your FLL-ATL flight before you leave Europe.

Flying on United Airlines from Manchester UK to Toronto to Denver to Las Vegas. How many times must I clear Customs? Thank You

You will go through US Immigration and Customs Preclearance in Toronto. You may also have to go through Canadian border control first. It depends on your arrival gate and airline in Toronto.

Hello, I am traveling to Krakow this June on Alitalie airlines. I am flying from Ohare and have an hour and 15 minute layover in Rome. I will not be checking any luggage, will just have a carry on. Assuming my flights are on time, is this going to be enough time in between flights? Will I be going through customs or passport control and any suggestions on how to expediate my process? Also, my flight will be departing Rome at 9:30 am. thank you!

I'm from Brazil. I'm flying this month to San Francisco with a connecting flight at Newark Airport, all flights by United Airlines. I'm supposed to go to US Imigration, claim my baggage, pass through US Customs. Then, where must I drop out my baggage? After, I should check-in again or go to the gate? I'll return to Brazil with a connecting flight at Chicago O'Hare Airport also by United Airlines. This time do I have to go to US Imigration, claim baggage and US Customs again? What I'm supposed to do? Thank you.

You will drop your baggage immediately after customs at the transfer desk. It will be very clear and many passengers on your flight will be re-checking their bags there. You will be re-issued both boarding passes in Brazil. You can proceed directly to the security checkpoint in Terminal C for your flight to San Francisco. On your return to brazil, you do not have to go through any formalities in Chicago, you only have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Thank you, very much!

I have just another doubt regarding the layover. The time for connection on Newark is 1 hour and 20 minutes and for returning through Chicago hte layover is 55 minutes. It's enough time?

Im flying with United from Managua, Nicaragua to DCA but I have a connecting flight on IAH with 1 hour and 40 minutes connection. I know im supposed to go through customs and collect my luggage, but what do I do after I collected my bag to go catch my other flight? Do I have enough time?

After you collect your bag and hand your customs sheet to the officer you can immediately re-check it at the transfer desk. Then you will go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

So first thing after I get off the plane is going through customs, right? And after that collecting my bag, and so on?

    yes

If I am flyiing out of toronto via dfw to catch a connector to Leon Mex how much time will I need to make the connection ( same terminal ) and do I need to go thru any more security/custom checks in the US or will that happen again when I land in Mexico?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. Note that your flight from Toronto may not arrive in Terminal D because of this. However, the Skylink train connects all terminals inside security. All you have to do in DFW is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 40 minutes should be enough time. You will go through Mexican Immigration and Customs when you get to Leon.

  • Flying into Terminal B; have 46 min layover to get to C

Hi. I am booked on American Airlines and it says it is coming in to Terminal B, with a 46 minute layover and plane to change to Terminal C. I won't have any checked bags but is this even possible (assuming my flight in is on time)??

It will be very very difficult, you'll have to ride Route A all the way around and then go through security in Terminal C. I'd say it's almost impossible.

Were you able to make it? I have 45 minutes to get from Terminal B to C at La Guardia today? was the route A bus the best way to do it?

  • Dubai-Seattle-Victoria...enough time
    Jan 11, 2015

I am flying from Dubai to Seattle on a 14 hour Emirates flight. The flight arrives in satellite S. My next flight is to Victoria, Canada from terminal C. The layover time is 1h 25 minutes. I have 2 questions: 1) Would I have to go through any customs? or immigration at Seattle airport? I am only going to be in transit. 2) Is 1 hour 25 minutes layover enough to catch the Victoria, Canada connection? I do have another option where Victoria connection is 6 hours 40 minutes later. I could take that one. I am also traveling with a 4 year old so I will have a stroller. Is it true that to go to S to C, I have to take the train 4 times? Your thoughts? Thanks

I want to board a flight via Icelandair through Reykjavik to Canada as a new immigrant. I have the immigrant visa but not yet the permanent resident card, only the COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence). Can I transit in Iceland without a Schengen transit visa?

I am planning to fly from Dublin to Seattle and can use the pre-clearance system, then after a cycling holiday in Usa, I want to visit a friend by flying Seattle to Kelowna in BC, Canada. It seems more efficient to return to Seattle to return to Dublin. As an Irish citizen, I will have to re-enter USA. So, how complicated will it be to re-enter?

Not complicated at all. Irish citizens just have to complete ESTA before their trip. Their second entry is actually easier as all their information will already be in the system.
