Hi, i am an Indian currently in Halifax, Canada on Work Permit and i had been here for almost 1.5yrs now. I am planning to travel in Oct to India via LHR Airport with my Family. I would like to know if i need a transit Visa for my transit in LHR and also i will be returning Halifax via LHR in the month of November
Yes, you will need a transit visa, here is the info on how to apply for one: https://www.gov.uk/transit-visa
If I arrive from Moscow at 1:25 PM. Would I be able to go through customs and catch an added flight #3379 by 2:55PM?
What airport are you connecting at? What airlines are your flights on?
flying in on Aeroflot, flying out on United 3379. I wanted to add this last flight, not on my itinerary.
Sorry, I am flying into Dulles International on Aeroflot.
It will be hard to make that connection but it is doable. You will arrive in Terminal B and be transported to the International Arrivals Building for US Immigration where you will claim your baggage and go through customs. Then, if your tickets are tagged through to Norfolk you can drop your bags at the re-check desk, otherwise you will have to take them up to the departures level, go to the United ticket counter, and check in and pay a bag fee. You will also get your United boarding pass then. You will then go through security and then take the Mobile lounge or AeroTrain to your departure gate (which will likely be in Concourse A or C). That is a lot to do in just 90 minutes.
ZAP, Thank you for your time, I have opted to get picked up at Dulles, and drive back to Norfolk with my son.
I am traveling next Saturday on AA to Miami then to St Kitts. My flight is at 5:40 am. Is TSA open 24 hours at every terminal, should I plan on getting to the airport 2 hours ahead?
No, security is not open 24 hours a day. I imagine that the check-in counters will open at about 4:00 AM and that security will open between 4:00 and 4:30.
I am flying from Toronto to Vancouver on Westjet. I am then transferring to American Airlines to fly to Seattle. Where will I clear customs? Will I have to retrieve my bags? Is two hours enough time? Thanks!
American Airlines does not fly from Vancouver to Seattle, your flight is likely operated by Alaska Airlines/Horizon. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. When you do you will claim your baggage after clearing Immigration, go through customs, and then re-check it, then go through security and to your gate for your departure to Seattle. Yes, 2 hours should be enough time.
Yes, it is Alaskan Airlines. Sorry about that. What signage should I look for when I get off the plane in Vancouver? Is it easily marked? Am a nervous flyer.
The YVR Airport has a very good guide on connections there - http://www.yvr.ca/en/navigating-yvr/passenger-guides/connecting-through-yvr.aspx You follow the signs to USA Connections.
I heard this was back on. True?
It's a done deal. FAA approved it.
Yes, but there will be no changes until at least the middle of next year.
I'm arriving from San Diego, 2.5 hr connection time and then I'm headed to Panama City Panama. Do I need to pick up my luggage before I head to my connecting flight? When does one go through customs. First time flying solo. Help!
What airport are you connecting at?
Houston-IAH
If both your flights were bought on the same ticket, then on the way to Panama City, no you won't have to claim your baggage, it should be checked all the way through to PTY. You will go through Panamanian immigration when you get to Panama. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. On the return, assuming you are again connecting at IAH, you will go through US immigration there, then claim your baggage, go through customs, and then re-check your bags at the re-check desk for your flight to San Diego, then go through security and to your departure gate.
Ok, thanks. That is what I was thinking would happen. So I'm assuming my 2.5 hrs is plenty of time to handle all of that. My return flights are the same.
Yes, that should be enough time.
I would like to know if I arrive from Kuala Lumpur(international ) to LAX at 13:05 and have a domestic connecting flight to Dallas AT 14:30PM
would 1.5hours be suffice to connect the flight.?
Can I clear immigration through transfer passenger area?
Please advice
I would want at least 2.5 hours. That is a bit too short, especially if you have to transfer bags yourself.
thanks sir.what if I do not have any checked in baggage.can I make it on time? do I need to go through immigration?
Yes, you will have to go through Immigration in LAX. Then walk to the terminal your Dallas flight departs from, then get your boarding pass and go through security. If you have no baggage it's possible if your first flight is on-time and you really hurry.
I will land in CTS airport on NOv 9. As I need to pick up my bmobile sim card, would you pls let me know will the post office open on Nov 9 before 5pm? Thank you very much.

My wife is due to arrive at LAX at 10:15pm from SEA; where she checked a bag. We are then flying out of LAX to STT at 11:39pm. Will we need to collect her bag from baggage claim and re-screen through security? Do we have enough time for this?
You're flying from LAX to St. Thomas? What airlines are you flying?
LAX to SEA on American. LAX to STT on jetblue. Called JetBlue already, not looking good.
American does not fly from Seattle to LAX, so your wife's flight is likely actually operated by Alaska Airlines, which will arrive in T6. You would have to take your bags across the airport from T6 to T3. It's possible to make that connection but I wouldn't bet on it. I'd try to move your wife's flight to earlier if possible as that would be cheaper and easier than trying to change your flight to St. Thomas. It may even be easiest just to buy a separate earlier flight SEA-LAX for her than trying to change her flight because of the change fee.
Thanks for the word! I'll encourage her to carry on instead.
