  • enough time to transfer inside TERMINAL EM?
    Oct 1, 2014

Are 55 mins enough to change flight inside the terminal EM? Arriving from Boston Logan Airport and leaving for Madison Dane County; both flights operated by delta

Yes, that is enough time. If you arrive in the A concourse and depart from B or C, A is connected to B and C by an underground tunnel.

thank you! so all the DELTA flights arrive at terminal EM ? I'm trying to book the flight from delta website (not from kayak or something else) but they don't tell me in which terminal I'll arrive, So I was wondering if Delta flights arrive always in the same terminal

  • Flying on New Year's Day

Are there any advantages to flying on New Year's Day, such as lower ticket price or light load factors? Are there any disadvantages?

It depends where you're going. New Years day is actually one of the busiest travel days of the holiday season as it is the last day that many people have off work before they have to return. If you're looking for a bargain or a less busy day, new years eve is a better bet. Although, since this year Jan 1 is a Thursday, the people returning from vacation will probably be spread pretty evenly from the 1st to the 4th.

No you do not, Hong Kong allows sterile International->International connections.

Hi, I'm flying Heathrow to Vancouver via LAX with Air Canada. do I have to collect and recheck in my luggage or will this be checked through the entire way? Thanks!

Note that your Heathrow-LAX flight will be operated by United. So you will arrive in Terminal 6, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your bag with United/Air Canada. Then you will have to walk across the center of the airport or take the terminal shuttle bus to Terminal 2 where your Air Canada flight will depart.

  • I'm flying Moscow-Amsterdam-Seattle-Pullman

Hello everyone! I'm flying from Russia to the USA through Amsterdam and Seattle. I'm not an experienced traveller, so could you please describe the sequence of actions that will take place as soon as I land in Amsterdam (Schiphol)? This is my first trip with connections and I am a bit nervous! Thanks in advance!

In Amsterdam, since both of your flights are outside Schegen, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, where you will go through security. When you get to Seattle, you will arrive at the S-Satellite where you will go through US Immigration, collect your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage with Alaska Airlines/Horizon who will be operating your flight to Pullman. Then you will go through security and take a few underground trains to your departure gate for your flight to Pullman.

I am flying from Vancouver to Paris with one hour layover in Seattle. Do I need to pick up luggage and go through secutity/immigeration? I feel one hour layover might not be enough if thats the case

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Vancouver on your way to Paris. Therefore your arrival into Seattle will be like a domestic flight. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Hi, I am a Nigerian citizen with a valid US visa. My French visa is valid from the 1st of June but my flight to France leaves on the 31st of May and gets to France on the 1st of June. Do you think customs will let me go through on the 31st of May?

Hi I am flying from Dublin to Roanoke via Charlotte and I land at 15.35 and fly on to Roanoke at 16.13. Does thst leave me enough time to go through immigration

Dublin has U.S. Customs clearance - all you need to do is transfer to your connecting gate, which depends on the airline(s) you arrive / depart from. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/clt, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

We are flying with Delta and can check in 24 hours ahead of time. Does it speed up when you board by checking as early as you can? Say our flight is at 7:45am on May 31 and we can check in at 7:45am on May 30th but can't until 1:00pm on May 30th. Does that determine when we can board?

No, boarding groups on Delta are not determined by check-in time. Check in at any time within the 24 hour window that's convenient for you.

  • Delayed Flight

What happens if while you are waiting on your flight it is delayed to where you miss your connecting flight? Do they put you on the next connecting flight?

They can put you on the next available connecting flight, or if you know you will miss your connection, you can ask to be rebooked through a different hub if possible.

Thank you for the information. Sorry to ask but what does "Differnt Hub" mean ? Is that different carrier? Thanks

It means if the airline has multiple connecting hubs, they might fly you to a different city than originally planned, and you would make your connection there.

We are flying United out of Kalispell, MT and will be arriving in Denver on a small plane and catching a connecting flight to Orlando, FL. We have only a 35 minute layover. Do we have enough time to make our connection?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All United and United Express flights in DEN are on the same concourse.

my step is traveling from mexico to another overseas destination with change of flight through houston. will he still need a transit visa? if so how would that be obtained. he is traveling on a russian passport....

Since he is a Russian Citizen he will need a transit visa. To get one he needs to contact a US Embassy or Consulate. There is one in Mexico City. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/other/transit.html
