I am flying DEN - DFW - MEX and back again later this month on AA. It looks like I need a concourse/terminal change and I have around 60 minutes for each connection.
Do I need to re-clear security each time, I've not been through DFW before, or made many transfers at US airports? Thanks.
No, when just changing terminals you do not have to go through security. The Skylink train connects all terminals inside security. 60 minutes is NOT enough time on your way back from Mexico as you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security in DFW.
Thanks - AA sold me the itinerary on their own website, so I assume they'll look after me.
Yes, just be prepared to possibly be stuck in DFW for awhile on you way back to Denver.
We land at 7:15AM (March 2017) in AMS from Washington DC on KLM, we are looking to book a flight at 8:25AM to Basel, is that enough time? Will we go thru customs and passport control in AMS? We may fly KLM or easy jet, KLM told us 2 different stories about if we need to pick up and re check our bags, some agents said no since they are both KLM flights and others told us yes because they are 2 different tickets/reservations, does anyone know?
Yes, you will go through Passport control in AMS. If you show your Basel confirmation on KLM to the KLM agent in Washington, they should be willing to check your bags through to Basel. In that case you won't have to claim them in AMS. If you fly Easyjet to Basel you will have to claim them in AMS.
Thank you ZAP. Will an hour be enough time to get thru passport control in AMS if KLM in Washington is willing to check our bags through to Basel?
Hi, are there any restrictions on your personal carry-on, you know the laptop bag, purse, backpack etc that you're allowed to bring along with your regular carry-on, in relation to the size and weight etc? Thanks
It needs to fit under the seat in front of you.
Thanks for the reply. Also are there any restrictions on the items that you can pack into the personal carry-on? In other words, if you have a large laptop bag, can you pack clothes and other things along with the laptop? I know this may sound as a rather stupid question but I like to play it safe.
If we are travelling from Victoria to Seattle with Delta(all one reservation) then connecting flight to LAX would u pick up your baggage, go thru customs, baggage check in and security all in the S Terminal? And when we are in the S terminal is all of this on the same floor or will we have to go down to get baggage and then back up to a different floor. and when we go to catch our flight to LAX do we have to go to the main terminal. We only have 1hour and 38 minutes between landing in seattle and leaving for LA and wanted to get this straight. Thanks.
Yes, you do that all in the basement of the S Satellite. Then you go through security and upstairs if your flight departs from S or to the underground train if your flight departs from A or B. You have enough time.
I have noticed some international flights stop for one precise hour in places like Accra and Dakar. On some tickets I have looked into buying, the same plane would stop for an hour then leave. It's almost like a connecting flight, accept I would still depart with the very same plane.
1. What is the stop about/for..? 2. Would I leave the plane at all during the time or just sit in it till we take off again..?
The stop is to refuel and drop off passengers. The plane can't make it nonstop from Johannesburg to IAD with a full load of passengers due to the altitude of the Johannesburg airport, so it stops in Dakar. In order to properly sell tickets between Washington and Dakar, it stops on the way back too (even the aircraft is capable of flying IAD-JNB with a full load). You will either be instructed to stay on the plane, or briefly deplane then almost immediately reboard in Dakar or Accra.
Thank you for the response! Now my next (probably stupid, sorry) question is, when we deplane will we just get back on without having to show any kinda proof we were on or...? Do you maybe know how that would work?
You will bring your boarding pass and passport with you of course.
I want to go from RSW - DUS. I need to know if I can view the seat map online and if i can how? How do you use miles from AA on Air berlin if you can and How long would you recommend for switching from AA to Air Berlin to Re Check bags? Going from CLT-RSW on AA.
If you book it with AA miles you will be able to reserve your seat on CLT-RSW on the AA website at the time of booking. Getting a seat assignment on the Air Berlin flight may be possible after you book the flight on the Air Berlin website using the Air Berlin reservation number AA will provide you. If you are purchasing two separate reservations I'd want at least 2.5 hours.
How much is it to upgrade from Delta Main Cabin to Delta Comfort (Exit Row) When using miles? Flying From CLT-DTW-AMS-FCO. Also would 3hr 17min work in November to switch to international in detroit?
You'd have to check with Delta, but since that isn't a separate class of service, I do not believe you can make that change using miles, only cash. Yes, that would be plenty of time for that connection. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
