Cost of transport to Tenaya LodgeNov 7, 201210Hi! I'll fly from SFO to FAT on Dec-26, from FAT, I'll meet up with my family at Tenaya Lodge (1122 Highway 41). How much would a taxi/limo transport cost to get there? Would it be difficult to get a taxi/limo during holiday season? Thanks.kengchiposted on Fri, Sep 2

MDW to Aurora Train StationDec 29, 201112Please help. I will be visiting Chicago from Canada this Sunday and would like to go the Premiun Outlet Mall in Aurora. I would like to use the public transportation (CAT & Metra train). This will be a day trip. Please advise if this feasibl and will it be safe to use the orange line to come back to MDW at night. Thanks.Nunuposted on Wed, Aug 312 people like this post [ Like ]Take transportation to Union Station. You can take a train to Aurora, that is only about two miles or less to the Outlet mall. I live in Aurora, IL, and have taken the train many times. just try to get a express train that stops in Naperville and Aurora only. it will save over a hour instead of making every stop.Stevenposted on Thu, Dec 29

Booking a taxi from airportOct 11, 201123I am meeting my two sisters from Manchester UK and I am coming from California...new experience for all of us. How do we get a flat rate taxi when their fight arrives (I have to wait 6 hours for them). Can I call from the airport and is there one that anyone would recommendruspadposted on Mon, Aug 222 people like this post [ Like ]I presume that you all will head to Manhattan. This is what I suggest: 1. Find out which flight they arrive (flight number, terminal, gate. 2. If you have checked luggage, you need to go down to the baggage area, find the carousel for your airline (the overhead screen will list flight numbers & Airlines) and claim your bag). Take the bag on the elevated Airtrain to the terminal your sisters arrive at. Find out where you can store your bag. 2. Taxis: Taxis are regulated and are waiting outside in a line. An attendant will take your destination and you board the first taxi in line. When it's getting closer to your sister's arrivals (check screens), get your bag and proceed to the Arrivals level where you can meet them at thei carousel.MUCposted on Tue, Aug 231 person likes this post [ Like ]I will be traveling domestically into JFK on Delta and then an international flight on Delta less than 2 hours later. I cannot seem to get an answer to the following question: do you have to pass through security again and if not, is there a connecting walkway, people mover, etc;; to get you from one Delta terminal to another without going back outside. Once you do that, I would imagine you have to allow time to go through security again. Delta claims an hour and fifty minutes is sufficient time to make connecting flights but I am not so sure as there is little time for last minute problems.MitchGposted on Tue, Oct 11

Airport transportationSep 19, 201153How do my wife and I get to our gate (southwest) without having to walk?REWposted on Tue, Aug 23 people like this post [ Like ]Southwest is in Terminal 1, but serves in both the Concourses B & C (more in C) Look at your ticket and see which gate number you depart from (i.e., B1 or C1). The C gateway is long and narrow and is accessible by the C Gate Tram. The tram also connects satellite concourses C & D with the centralized check-in and baggage claim areas.MUCposted on Wed, Aug 3I just returned from Las Vegas, and want to tell everyone and anyone flying into that city to avoid Executive Las Vegas shuttles to/from the Las Vegas strip. Here's my story: As is my tradition, upon arriving at the airport, I went to the first strip shuttle service I saw. They all generally charge the same price, provide the same level of service, and all go to the same hotels. This time it was Executive Las Vegas. I paid my fare at the booth, and crossed the street to the waiting shuttle. So far, so good. After a few minutes, a well-dressed man in his 50's came aboard and apologized, saying there was a new law requiring them to wait at least 15 minutes after the first passenger is seated, or until the bus was full before parting. This seemed unusual, but tolerable; after all when I sat down the people on board ahead of me had already been there a few minutes. Well, that 15-minute figure stretched to almost 30 minutes, as this same person repeatedly came on board, told a few jokes, and explained the same rule several more times. He apologized each time, even going so far as to turn on the bus's air conditioning when someone requested it. As far as we knew, he was a caring Executive employee. After more than 35 minutes sitting at the airport, we still had three open seats, but it was finally time to get underway. As the bus pulled out, the same man stood in front of the sign stating that Federal Motor carrier Administration Code 393.90 prohibited the bus to be in motion with passengers standing, and after a few lame "Welcome to Las Vegas" tips, BEGAN A SALES PITCH FOR A TIME SHARE!!! Look, I understand, these people have it hard in today's economy. That's understandable. But when I have to PAY for the privilege of being a member of a captive audience listening to one of these sales pitches, it REALLY PISSES ME OFF! Once I realized what was going on, I tried my best to ignore the guy, while trying to figure out if I wanted to let the incident to ruin my vacation or at least my day. The sales pitch was not going well. When it was apparent that this was going to be a "No Sale" he quickly announced he was going to be getting off at our first stop (MGM Grand). As we pulled up I asked if there was going to be a similar sales pitch on the return trip. He said "Possibly" and asked if I was offended. I told him I was, and he said I could always take a cab back to the airport! Just as he jumped off the bus, he turned to me and said "Have a good time in Vegas - Although I doubt you can!" Talk about adding insult to injury! When I called executive to complain, the person claimed no knowledge of the sales pitch. This, despite the fact that the salesman had his sales material stored on the bus, repeatedly walked on and off, and the driver could not possibly ignore what was going right behind him. Ladies and gentlemen, we have to draw the line somewhere. I suggest we hit these people where it hurts the most. Either DO NOT use their service, or if you do, when the salesman gets up, interrupt him with every possible question about Las Vegas you can come up with. Make his life a living hell. He thought you were the captive audience... Turn the tables, and make HIM the captive. Then, stiff the driver for his tip. If the drivers are suffering because of these idiots, they'll fight on our side. We can stop this. And we SHOULD because it's illegal and just plain wrong!Edvadoposted on Fri, Aug 194 people like this post [ Like ]We need a shuttle from a residence to the airport for 6 with luggage.
