We are flying From Florence, IT to Amsterdam on June 8th, with a connecting flight to Glasgow Scotland. We have fifty minutes to spare after landing in Amsterdam, no luggage to collect. One person has a Canadian Passport and four have British Passports. Will the 50 minutes be enough time and will we have to go through any kind of security control or immigration control. Would it be better to contact the airline and change the flight to Glasgow. I'm worried as none of us is a spring chicken and running to catch out flight is not an option. Thanks for any advise!

You will have to go through Schengen exit passport control. This should be barely enough time.

Thank you! I think this won't work for us, I will have to try to change our flight time. Don't really understand why you have to go through any passport thing when you are not even leaving the airport or secured area, but it is what it is!!

I will fly with Alitalia next month from London to Catania, and there is one connection in Rome for 3 hours.Would it be possible to have a short tour in Rome before going back to the airport and continue flying to Catania?

No, 3 hours is not enough time. It takes an hour each way to get into the city.

I am flying from Barbados on March 15th with Jet Blue flight 662 arriving 7:29pm and connecting to Jet Blue flight 1295 that departs at 8:59pm. There were no other options for me. Is this 1 hour 20 minute layover doable with customs?

Yes, that should be enough time if your flight from Barbados is on-time. JetBlue now has their own customs facility in Terminal 5 to process your arrival.

im travelling from STL to ORD asd from ORD to newark throu United. In ord i have only 45 mins layover. Is it enough? I have a toddler with me. And do i have to go thro security check again?

Yes, that is enough time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You may arrive in Terminal 1 or 2. You will depart from Terminal 1. there is a walkway inside security connecting Terminal 1 and 2.

Thank you so much for the reply

Hello! I land at JFK this summer into terminal 4 wih delta from London Heathrow. I need to get a connection to Miami, I land at Jfk at 1:30 there is a delta connection at 3:30 in the same terminal or and American airlines connection in a completely different terminal at 4:30. I would rather the delta connection but is it realistic that I will make it? Many thanks!

Yes, it would be possible. You can check in online for your second flight before you leave London.

Still, I personally would go with the 4:30.

Hi, we are flying with United Airlines from Oslo to Lax, with a layover of 90 minutes at EWR. Is it enough time? If missing the connection, would rebooking be possible? Thanks inadvance for your help.

Yes, that is right on the minimum amount of allowed time for that connection, so it is possible. If you do miss your connection you will be rebooked free of charge on the next available flight to LAX. United flies many flights from EWR to LAX.

On Friday I am DL6003 from Pittsburgh at 1:30 and then will be arriving in Detroit at 2:50. My connecting flight a DL0159 to Incheon, South Korea will depart from Detroit at 3:34 PM. Will this be enough time for me to make it to my connecting flight in Detroit? Will I have to go through security again? Thanks.

All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Both will be in the McNamara Terminal. No security required.

I have pre teens and toddler in our group. We have a 9 hour layover in LAX from 6 am to 3 pm. Some of that time we will be retrieving bags and re checking in bags from one airline to another. For the rest of the time, what can you recommend for us to do? Shops, food in LAX, leave, stay, etc. Thanks

We are flying into Denver and have 45 minutes to make our connecting flight. We are flying United Airlines and one passenger is a little slow with a bad hip. Can we make the connecting flight in time? Doesn't seem to leave much room for delays! We haven't flown in YEARS! Thank you!

Yes, that is enough time, but you are right it does leave little time for delays. All united gates are on concourse B.

Hello, I am considering purchasing a ticket from Venice to Seattle on Delta. The Venice to AMS flight is operated by KLM. THE AMS to Seattle is operated by DELTA. I am purchasing the tickets together and carrying on luggage only. Is 50 minutes enough time to make this connection?

Yes, that should be enough time

I am American citizen and traveling from YVR-ZGR and back. On my way back I am flying from ZGR-FRA , FRA-SEA and SEA-YVR. Can I stay in Seattle or I have to go to Vancouver? Thank you.

You will have to claim your bags when you go through customs in Seattle, so yes, you can leave the airport there if you want.

I will fly from JFK to DTW which would change airline from US Airways to American Airlines in CLT. Do I need pick up my luggage and check in again in CLT?

If you purchase all your flights in one reservation, then no, you will not have to claim your bags in Charlotte.

Hi, I am flying to London Heathrow from SFO and have a stopover for 35 mins only in LA. Is there enough time for me to get my connecting flight, if the flight from SFO is on time? Thanks.

What airline or Airlines are you flying?

Both flights are Virgin Atlantic. I know the connection flight departs from terminal 5, but I do not know what terminal the flight from SFO will land in LA. Thanks,

I'll be coming from PuntaCana arriving there at 7pm and not leaving until 7am. Anywhere to go/ see at that time? Good bars, restaurants etc?

Just get a hotel and sleep. It's a long cab ride into the city from there.

I am arriving at Tom Bradley terminal at 6:30am and will need to transfer to terminal 2 for a connection at 2:45pm I will need to collect my bag at Tom Bradley is this after immigration and security as this terminal seems the best to spend most of my layover hours

You collect your bag after you go through US Immigration but before you go through US Customs, then if you bought two separate tickets and your bags aren't tagged through to your final destination, you will exit to the left out of the customs area, If your bags are tagged to your final destination, you can re-check them at the re-check desk in the TBIT by following the signs for connecting passengers.
