  • Sydney to DCA with layover in DFW
    Mar 30, 2015

Hi, I am looking to purchase tickets from Sydney to DCA with layover of 1hour and 40mins in DFW. I done this before however the layover was 3 hours so I wasn't in a rush. I know you will have to collect your bags and go through customs so I feel like the 1hour and 40mins is not enough. Anyone has done this before and can comment? On the return is the same except it is 1hour and 30mins. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

1 hr 40 mins is 10 minutes more than the recommeded time, but many people feel that the recommended time at DFW is no longer enough due to overcrowding. SO I would say it is very borderline. On the way back 1 hr 30 minutes is fine because you do not have to go through US Customs or anything with your bags when leaving the US.

  • Coming in from Dublin Going to SFO. 45 mins

I have a UNITED flight in from Dublin and will then have a layover of 45mins to fly to SFO. Do I have to do security from Terminal 5 to get to 2? and is 45 mins enough? Thank you!

There are no flights to San Francisco from Terminal 2. If both of your flights are on United they will both be in Terminal 1. You can walk directly from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I will be flying from Denver to Frankfurt with an hour layover in Detroit on may 12th. I am flying united to Detroit and Lufthansa to Frankfurt. Is one hour layover enough time to change planes?

Yes, that should be enough time. The United gate will be right next to the Lufthansa gate in the low numbered end of the North Terminal and all you have to do is walk from gate to gate.

I will be flying into msp at 8:00 am with a two and a half hour layover. Would I have enough time to meet a friend at the hot dish restaurant for a drink, re enter through security and get to my Delta gate?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

party of six have a one-hour layover in phl. arrv. in terminal F on US Air and connect to a flight to Seattle on US Air.. I have read there is some difficulty going from Terminal F to other Terminals. Any ideas?

Terminal F is only connected to the other terminals by a shuttle, but it runs frequently. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Enough time with customs to see a few sites

Arriving at CDG at 2pm. Will I have enough time to see the Eiffel Tower and Louvre and make it back through customs to catch a flight at 9pm to BCN

If by seeing the Louvre you mean looking at the outside of it, yes, if you mean actually seeing what's inside no, I would recommend a whole day for that. Eiffel tour is easy to see but if you want to go up it really depends on the day of the week, the time of year, and the weather how long the line will be. Let's assume you will arrive in Paris via the train from the airport at 4 PM. You realistically need to leave Paris by 6:30 PM at the latest, so that would give you a few hours to see things.

Hi, I'm going to be flying in from SJU Puerto Rico to LAX, w/a 6hr layover in NY. I want to take the airtrain to the A train heading into Manhattan Fulton st to see my boyfriend. Am I allowed to leave JFK & Will I make it back in time?

Yes, you are allowed to leave. It will take a little over an hour to get there each way, and you should be back at JFK an hour before your flight to LAX, so you might have 1-2 hours with your boyfriend.

We are flying from Canada to Cancun with a layover in Houston. Will we need to go through customs, or is there a transfer area? Is 1 hour enough time?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada. You have enough time.

I am flying from san diego to ORD all on Iberia. From ORD I am flying to madrid also on iberia. Would 55 min be enough time?

Your first flight will be operated by American Airlines. in ORD you will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Terminal 5. You have to take the ATS Train between terminals and go through security in Terminal 5. You barely have enough time.

I will be travelling from YUL Montreal to Chicago with an 1hour 15 mins layover time to go to Honolulu. Both flights are with United Airlines. Will that be sufficient time? If i check in a bag, will i need to retrieve it at Chicago? or should they be transferring it for us? Thanks in advance

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time.

Dear Sir, We will be flying to SFO from LHR, via Chicago by BA.We are beyond 60 years and requested mobility assistance at Chicago which is confirmed. We have to get through immigration formalities and identification of checked in luggage(otherwise through booked to SFO) and move from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3 for the connecting flight to SFO.The lay over time is 1 hr. 38 mins. May I request to know if this time is sufficient ?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.
