Dine with relative at airportMar 3, 201321My sister and her family will be at IAH saturday with a 3.5 hr layover. I would like dine with them at the airport during their layover. All the good restaurants are beyond the TSA checkpoint. Can I go beyond the checkpoint as a guest with no boarding pass and dine with my family as they are between flights? How can I do this???jogrossposted on Wed, Jun 27Yes indeed, you cannot go beyond the security check. However, I found a few pre-security eats at IAH: At Terminal A, ticketing Lobby: Stadium City Bar & Grill; and Starbucks; At Terminal D: Vito's Bar & Deli, also in the Ticketing Lobby; At Terminal E: Ruby's Diner - to the right of security checkpoint - not sure if that's pre-security. There are also Food courts North & South - but does not state pre- or post-security.wejun12posted on Wed, Jun 271 person likes this post [ Like ]

Restaurant outside securityJun 10, 201200Hunband arrives ORD on United 3704 from El Paso 11:00 AM and is leaving at 6:07 PM on United 972 for Brussels. Chicago family would like to join him for lunch. Is there a nice restaurant OUTSIDE of security where they could alll meet? He knows he will need to go through security again. Is that okay?Susans223posted on Sun, Jun 10

layover timeMay 30, 201210is 35mins layover time okay for delta airlines for domestic flights?FAposted on Wed, May 30At SLC, Delta uses both Terminal 1, Concourse B, and Terminal 2, Concourse C. The terminals are connected to each other and concourses and gates are easily reached from level 2. Concourse B has gates B1-18; Concourse C has gates C11-3. Your ticket will show you your gate numbers - Also, look at the overhead screen on arrival to find your connecting flight & gate number. 35 mins should be adequate.weapr12posted on Wed, May 30

JFK 15 hours layoverApr 10, 201210In a few weeks my wife and I arrive at JFK airport from Kiev, Ukraine, our final destination is Pensacola, FL, but there is a 15 hours layover between flights. We arrive at 5 pm, T4 and depart at 8 am next day, terminal unknown, flying with Delta. What's our option, what should we do first, considering that this is our first ever flight trip? We have only confirmation numbers for the next flight, so, should we get the real tickets first? Will we be able to browse through terminals, or exit the airport? Where should we sleep to save some money? Thanks!!!Oliverposted on Tue, Apr 102. Visit www.ifly.com/jfk - it will tell you by airlines which terminal you arrive at and depart from, how to get around and travel tips. 2. For staying overnight at JFK read up at http://www.sleepinginairports.net/usa/newyorkjfk.htm . NOTE: As an international arrival at JFK you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes).tuapr12posted on Tue, Apr 10

I suggest you open TPY's site http://www.tocumenpanama.aero/ - the English translation is spotty, however.thapr12posted on Thu, Apr 5

very short layoverMar 24, 201210Hello from Japan... I am thinking of asking a friend to pick me up upon landing so we could dine in Seattle during my short layover. I land at 9a.m. from Tokyo and will check my baggage through to Pullman. However my plane to Pullman leaves at 4p.m. After customs/immigration is it possible for a traveller to leave the airport, dine in Seattle and get back into the terminal? I understand that I will probably have to have my boarding pass on hand and also go through the security check. I know at some airports that international passengers are not allowed to leave the terminal until they reach their destination but that may be related to passengers headed to another country. Thanks.ryubeiposted on Fri, Mar 23In general non-citizens arriving at a foreign airport are technically entering foreign soil as soon as they leave the secured area, and consequently need a temporary visa. I suggest you or your friend contact SEA at http://www.portseattle.org/About/Contact/Pages/Contact-the-Port.aspx or tel. (206) 787 5388 for their rules. Your friend may also want to use the new and extended free Cell Phone Lot (30 minutes max)--staying in his car until you are ready to call him to be picked up at the curb outside the baggage claim. From Southbound Airport Expressway: Take the Air Cargo Rd./Cell Phone Lot exit, turn right onto 170th, turn right onto Air Cargo Road and follow that road until you see the Lot on your left. From Southbound International Blvd: Turn right onto 170th, turn right onto Air Cargo Road and follow that road until you see the Lot on your left.samar12posted on Sat, Mar 24

Friend has layover here, we live hereFeb 1, 201211My friend is coming in tomorrow and has a three hour layover... What is the easiest way for me and my kids to be able to spend some time with her before she has to get to her connecting flight? Is there any way to get through security without having to buy a ticket???? Thanks!jsponsposted on Tue, Jan 31SEA has no mentioning on their site regarding meeting points. As you cannot go through security check without a ticket, you could meet them in front of the security checkpoint (ask one of the volunteers making their round for best place to settle down with them) or proceed to the information counter. This is the terminal layout: The Main Terminal is divided by a central terminal area with four Concourses A - D, and the North & South Satellites: Shaped like a bow, Concourse B and South Satellite areto the left, Concourse C and North Satellite are to the right, and Concourses A & D are attached to the south ends of the Main Terminal.1039posted on Wed, Feb 11 person likes this post [ Like ]
