  • Enough layover time?
    May 7, 2015
I will be flying from Columbus to Atlanta and then from Atlanta to Madrid with a 52 minute layover time in Atlanta. I am flying with Delta for the whole journey. Will this be enough time to make my connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where you wil depart.

  • transfer from T5 to T2
    May 7, 2015
Hi. I will be arriving at ORD Terminal 5 by Air India flight around 7 am.I have to take a connecting United flight from T2. Considering that I will have to go through immigrations as well, will 4.5 hours be enough to make the connecting flight?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

  • Getting Through Customs
    May 6, 2015
I have a flight from Dubai to Seattle with Emirates, then Seattle to Calgary with Atlantic Airlines. Will I need to go through customs? Can the procedure be explained step-by-step (where do I collect my bags and how do i get to customs, etc) and will 3hrs30mins be enough?

In seattle you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs in the S Satellite. if you purchased two separate tickets, you will then have to put your bags on a conveyor belt to the main terminal and take a train there yourself. There is no such airline as Atlantic Airlines serving Seattle. Do you mean Alaska Airlines?

Sorry. Yes, I meant Alaska Airline. I purchased one ticket not two. What happens in that case? And is 3hrs30mins a sufficient amount of time? Thank you for your response.

Since you purchased one ticket, in Seattle you will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the underground train to your departure gate, which will be in the C, D, or N concourse.

3 hrs 3 mins should be enough time.

ZAP, thank you so much for your help! Truly appreciated!

  • Layover questions
    May 10, 2015
I have a flight from calgary to seattle with alaska airlines with a 4;21 hr layover at SEA-TAC, then a connecting flight with emirates to dubai.... do i need to go through customs at the airport or can i directly go to my gate?

Did you purchase your tickets on one reservation or separately? You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary.

i purchased my tickets on one reservation. Thank you!

Then you can just go from your arrival gate in C, D, or N to your departure gate in S. Your bags will be transferred for you.

  • 9 hour layover
    May 10, 2015
Any suggestions on things to do while having a 9 hour layover in LAX?

Take a taxi to the Santa Monica Pier. It's only about 15-20 minutes away from LAX and a good place to kill time.

Thanks! What do people normally do with their luggage. I think I can only check it in up to 4 hours before. Is there a locker area or anything?

No, you have to bring it with you.

  • 1h30min Layover from Dublin to Phoenix
    May 3, 2015
I haven't purchased tickets yet, but all of my options via Aer Lingus (United Partner) have me make a 90 minute layover at ORD on my way to PHX, from DUB. I will do pre-clearance at DUB. I want to know if this 90 minute layover is possible, before I order my tickets.

Yes, 90 minutes should be possible.

  • 3 hours layover
    Apr 30, 2015
I'm traveling to Mexico through United Airlines from DFW with laover 3 and half hrs at IAH. I have family in Houston, if they come to the airport to see me for an hour or two would I have enough time to go through security to get to my gate on time to aboard the next plane?

Yes, that should be enough time. You could meet with them for over an hour probably.

  • Is 54 minutes enough time to connect?
    Apr 30, 2015
One nicely priced option has us arriving at LAX from New Orleans on Delta with just 54 minutes before our connecting flight to Brisbane on Virgin Australia. Is this enough time to connect if our bags are checked all the way through? The only other option is an 8-hour layover at LAX.

You will have to walk from T5 to the International Terminal and go through security. it's barely enough time if your flight from New Orleans is on-time.

  • 5 hour lay over in Rome
    Apr 28, 2015
Hello, We are flying from Mykonos to Rome on Easy Jet in August and have a 5hr layover in FCO before connecting to a flight to Croatia. 1. Will Easy Jet transfer our bags and if not, can we check them in or lock them somewhere? 2. will we have enough time to go into the city to walk around and have lunch? 3. We have US passports, will we have to do customs when we land in Rome and out of Rome? Thank you!

EasyJet does not transfer bags to any other airlines. You do not really have enough time to go into the city. It's about an hour each way. Greece and Italy are both in the Schengen Area, you will not go through customs on that part of your trip. You will go through Schengen exit passport control before you board your flight to Croatia.

  • place to sit while waiting for next flight next morning
    Apr 28, 2015
I will be arriving LAX in the late afternoon and hope to rest in the airport for my next flight out next morning. Could you a advice where in the airport is suitable for alone traveler.

Honestly, get a hotel if you're going to be there that long. LAX is a crowded airport that won't allow you to get much if any rest. There's lots of hotels very close to LAX with shuttles.

  • Doubt regarding Immigration time at YVR
    Apr 28, 2015
Hello, I am arriving in Canada on May 18 through Vancouver Airport. I have an Air Canada Flight arriving at YVR at 16:10 hrs and a connecting flight to prince George, BC at 19:45 hrs. Will the layover time be adequate for immigration, customs, baggage clearance and check in at domestic terminal? How long does it take on an average? Also, when leaving Canada, I have a flight form Prince George to YVR arriving at 10:55 hrs and then a flight from Vancouver to HK leaving at 13:00 hrs? Will this much time be enough for all the procedures? Please help.

Yes, that should be plenty of time when entering canada. Procedures shouldn't take more than an hour. There are no procedures when exiting Canada.

  • ATL to RDU with Layover at IAD
    Apr 23, 2015
I am wondering if 40 minutes is enough connection time for a flight landing at IAD at 9:35pm and the next flight leaves at 10:15pm headed to RDU. We are not checking any bags and we are flying United Airlines. The first flight leaves from ATL if that helps and it is on a Saturday.

That is enough if the first flight is on-time. All United gates at IAD are connected inside security.

  • 47 min connection
    Apr 22, 2015
I'm traveling from YYZ to IAH, then to Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a connection of 47 min. I have to get onto the Sao Paulo flight because I have another connection in Sao Paulo. The late afternoon flight in YYZ is easily delayed. Am I gonna able to make this one?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. It's possible to make if your flight is on-time. If it looks like your flight will be late leaving Toronto, proactively ask to be rebooked to connect through Chicago or Washington DC. They also have flights to Sao Paulo.
