  • Transfer at O'Hare
    Jun 2, 2014
Hi! I'll be arriving to ORD at 2:45pm (ANA 1012 arriving from Narita) and will need to catch a UNITED flight to Washington DC (IDA) at 4:15pm. Will I need to claim my baggage, go through security, change terminals, and then check-in again? Will the time be enough for me to go through all of these steps? I'm debating whether to just bring carry-on luggage so I don't need to worry about this short transfer time. Thank you very much!

  • Terminals - arrive from Toronto to Rome and transfer to Florence
    May 14, 2014
Can anyone advise which terminal flight arrives from Toronto to Rome and then what terminal at FCO from Rome to Florence. We have a one hour layover. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

You will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Terminal 1. You will go through passport control when you transit to Terminal 1. You should have barely enough time, but Alitalia runs many flights to Florence in case you miss your connection.

  • Enough time?

My parents are travelling from Dallas to Berlin with layovers in Detroit and Amsterdam. The flight from Dallas to Detroit is operated by Endeavor Air, the flight from Detroit to Amsterdam by Delta. Do my parents have to claim their baggage in Detroit and re-check it for the flight to Amsterdam? Is 90 minutes between the flights enough for people of age 60+ for the layover in Detroit?

    1. As Endeavor Air is a subsidiary of Delta, bags will be automatically transferred at Detroit. 2. For details of the McNamara Terminal, open, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the text. 3. Arrivals at AMS from a non-Schengen (foreign) country: passports will be checked upon arrival at, and departure from, Amsterdam Airport. On arrival, after passport control, follow signs to 'Baggage Hall' located on the ground level, retrieve bags, go through customs; then proceed to ticket control and security check to connecting 'Schengen' gate. AMS is easy to make transfers - just follow signs. ( P.S. 60+ is yesterday's 50+!)

  • DL 252 to DL 1622 - 40 min layover - enough time?
    Sep 21, 2014
Is there enough time at DTW to get from DL 252 to DL 1622 with only a 40 min layover?

Yes, both flights will be on the A concourse of the McNamara Terminal.

Not always. For Endeavor leaving Dayton, Ohio arriving DTW my CJ plane gated at Concourse A instead Concourse C. It was unusual Sunday, and it did saved my hurdle for international connection. Always look at the monitor and/or listen cabin P/A upon landing.

  • International to Domestic

Howdy! I'm a US citizen arriving in Dulles from Paris. I land at 3:05 p.m. (Friday in June) and have an 2 hour and 11 min layover. Will that give me enough time to connect to my 5:16 flight to Houston?

Yes, that should be enough time. If you are flying on United you will clear immigration in United's facility in the C/D concourse.

  • 15 hours transit time at IAH, what to do?
    May 2, 2014
Hi, i will be flying from SFO - IAH - LEX with a 15 hour connection at IAH on United! May you give me some ideas what to expect there? Will there be proper places where i can sleep (overnight) and eat and bathe and so on :( also, will there be any interesting things to do? This will be the first time I arrive at the states so sorta clueless as to what will happen :( thanks loads!

  • LAX 15 hours layover at night from 7:30 pm to 10:30 am
    Apr 21, 2014
Hello! I have a 15 hr layover at LAX on May 8th 2014. I was wondering if it would be safe and convenient to step out of the airport, for some sight seeing? Immigration and Borders check at the airport would take 90 mins and I'd like to be back 2 hours before the flight next morning. So essentially I have time from 9pm to 8:30am for sight seeing. An option is to take the FlyAway bus service to Union station and head to Hollywood Boulevard. Are there any other places worth visiting at night? Would it make sense to start early in the morning and go visit Venice or Manhattan beacj?

Hollywood will be worth seeing at that time of night. Venice Beach and Santa Monica will be pretty empty that early in the morning, so you won't really get the flavor, but it's worth seeing if you've never seen it. Where are you planning on staying?

  • Can I leave airport
    Apr 20, 2014
I am travelling from Chicago to Mumbai with a stopover at Newark. The duration of the stopover is 12 hours. I have a valid H1 B visa. Can I leave the newark airport and come back for my next flight.

Yes, you can. There's nobody checking visas/identification when leaving the airport. Also an H1B visa allows you to travel within the United States as much as you want.

    Thanks ZAP

  • Connection
    Apr 17, 2014
i have a connection from houston to los cabo mexico with only a 45 minute layover, my plane lands 10:16 and my connecting departs 11am, is this enough time?

Yes, but it doesn't leave much time for delays or any wasted time. Hurry. If you have to change terminals the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • Breakfast outside security?
    Apr 16, 2014
Is there a place to eat, so I can meet someone on their layover 6 AM Easter morning?

  • Domestic to International layover
    Apr 16, 2014
I will be flying from JAX to IAD on UA5843 which arrives at 4:14 pm. My next flight is UA936 to ZRH at 5:54. Is an hour 30 enough for me to make my next flight considering I'm flying in domestic and flying out international? Do I have to check in with my bags and go through security again?

All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. They will likely both be on the C/D concourse, however, if you arrive in the A concourse, the Mobile Lounge and Aerotrain connect it to C/D. You should have plenty of time.

I have 55 minutes on layover all United flights. If flight is on time do I have time to transfer?

Yes, that should be enough time. All flights will be on the C/D concourse and are connected inside security.

  • Delta layover
    Apr 14, 2014
I have 55 between flights on delta. Will I make it to my flight (of course if it's on time too) if I have to take the train to a different concourse? Also how do you get to the train?

There are a ton of signs pointing the way to the plane train. You can get between any two gates at ATL in under 20 minutes.

  • Is 1 hr 10 mins enough for connecting domestic to international?
    Apr 8, 2014
I'm flying from Charlottesville with UA3600 arriving at 11.10 and have to connect international flight to Japan (UA 803), departing at 12.20. Do I have enough time to run around? Do I have to pass security check again? I understand that my luggage will be checked through.

You do not have to go through security. All you have to do is take the mobile lounge or plane train from concourse A where you will arrive to concourse C/D where you will depart. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Clearing Customs
    Apr 6, 2014
I have 1hour 20 minutes to clear at IAH onto PVR. All will be in Terminal E. Is that enough time? Thanks!

Where are you coming from? That is less than the International->International minimum connection time.
