  • Tom Bradley terminal, can I get outside to smoke when in transit
    Feb 11, 2015
Hi there, I'm flying AKL/LAX/LHR on Air NZ (checked right through) with a 2 hour transit in the Tom Bradley terminal. Will I be confined to the business class lounge or can I escape for a smoke or two? Thank you, Ann

Yes, you will be confined to the lounge. That's the only way you can do this flight without going through US Immigration and Customs.

Thank you. Might have to do an overnight stopover. Cheers Ann

  • Three and a half hour layover in Miami
    Feb 9, 2015
Hi. We are traveling to costa rica this Sat and have a three and a half hour layover in MIA. Both flights are american so I assume we will not have to do anything with our bags. Is this enough time to leave for a little while or do we need to remain in the airport the full time?

It's not really enough time to see anything. Sure you could leave, the the Miami airport isn't really close to anything and there is very bad traffic around it.

  • International Inbound/Outbound to Domestic
    Feb 9, 2015
    GSP-IAD land @ 9.20PM IAD-DXB 10.15PM... No check in 55m layover will that be enough? KWI-IAD land @ 6.50AM IAD-GSP 8.19AM... 1 check in, will 1hr 29m be enough to finish immigration & collect checked in luggage?

    Both layovers should be sufficient.

  • Enough time to connect?
    Feb 7, 2015
We want to arrive at 2.30pm in Terminal E (EK237) and depart at 4.35pm in the same terminal (AM699). 2 of us flying and collecting/rechecking bags. Is this enough time? Cheers

Yes, that should be enough time if your tickets were purchased together. It's borderline if you purchased two separate tickets.

  • AMM - JFK - SFO - Enough time for connection?
    Feb 4, 2015
Hi - I am flying from Amman (Jordan) to JFK. I have 1 hr 40 min for a connecting flight to SFO. Is this enough time to clear customs etc and connect? Do I have to recheck my bags? Thanks!

Yes, you should barely have enough time if both tickets were purchased together. Yes, you will have to claim your bags to go through US Customs.

  • Confused on baggage
    Feb 3, 2015
I am flying with klm from entebbe to AMS and finally Miami. I have a 11 hr layover so I plan on going and seeing the city. Will I have to do anything with my checked luggage, or will it go straight to Miami and I dont have to fool with it? Thanks

It should go straight to Miami. However, note that to visit the city in Amsterdam you may need a Schengen Visa, depending on your citizenship.

  • Sydney to Vancouver to Toronto
    Feb 3, 2015
Hi in first week of march I will be flying from Toronto to YVR 10:10pm and my layover time is 1h 30m. to catch the next flight to Sydney via AirCanada. Is it good enough time? On my return a month later I will also have about 1h 25m layover at YVR to catch the flight to Toronto. I am little worried about the connection time. I will have checked baggage. What do you think please let me know. Thanks

Both ways that should be enough time. On the way to Sydney all you have to do in vancouver is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Layover time?
    Feb 3, 2015
Hi, everyone! :) I'm flying from Tel-Aviv to JFK via El-Al and then taking a connecting flight to Chicago with JetBlue. There's a two-hour window between the flights - will that be enough to make it from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5? Is there anything I should do to prepare beforehand?

  • Enough time?
    Feb 9, 2015
Hi I'm flying from Calgary and have a 60 minute layover in Houston, then flying into Cancun. We are travelling with 2 small children. Will we have to go through customs and do you think 60 minutes is enough time?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

  • Flying from Orlando to Dublin and back
    Feb 9, 2015
Hi, I am booking a flight from Orlando to Dublin in May. I usually fly with United connecting in Newark, however, there are no flights available for my travel dates. So, I am probably going to book with American Airlines. My question is: From Orlando to Charlotte there is a 1 hour and 33 min layover (May 9) and from Dublin to Charlotte there is a 1 hour and 44 min layover...will this be enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • International flight in 40 min
    Jan 26, 2015
Hi I have to make B25 to F9 in 40 min ,layover to get international flight? Will this time is suffice ?

That is enough time if your first flight is on-time, but leaves very little to spare in case of a delay. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

  • DO I need transit visa while layover in nassau bahamas?
    Feb 9, 2015
DO I need transit visa while layover in nassau bahamas from dubai-london-nassau-cayman island?I am indonesia passport holder

As far as I can tell you do need a visa, the Bahamas doesn't have a separate procedure for tourist and transit visas - However, if you are on a British Airways flight that stops in Nassau and continues to Grand Cayman you may not need to exit the plane and go through Bahamanian immigration, so in that case I would ask British Airways.

yes from Dubai via Iberia and layover 14hours in london and after that stop 2 in nassau via British Arways then go to GCM How about in london ,is it need transit visa 14 hours in airport?what can I do there? thank you so much for your help

If your connection in London is the same day and all Airside (meaning you do not have to change terminals), then you are exempt from needing a UK Transit Visa -

the detail of my flight like this : Iberia - Flight 4664 This flight leaves on Thursday and arrives on Friday. Operated by British Airways Take-off Thu 3:20p DXBDubai, AE08h 00m Landing Thu 7:20p LHRLondon, UK Economy |Boeing 777-200/300 | 08h 00m Connection LHR London, UK14h 30m British Airways British Airways - Flight 253 Take-off Fri 9:50a LHRLondon, UK12h 40m Landing Fri 5:30p GCMGrand Cayman Island, KY Economy |Boeing 767-200/300 | 12h 40m Flight BA 253 has following stops Arrive 20Feb 2:55p Nassau International Apt, BS (NAS) Depart 20Feb 3:55p

Since your connection is overnight I suggest asking the British Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence.

  • YVR-SEA-PVG, 1 hour enough?
    Feb 9, 2015
I plan to go to China from Canada and have to make a transfer in Seatle. flight to SEA will land on Terminal B and flight go to Pudong will take off on Terminal S. I have only 1 hour between these two flights and will it be enough? Plus, do I need to go through US custom in SEA and redo security screen?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. As long as your tickets were purchased together all you have to do in Seattle is take the underground train from your arrival concourse to the S-Satellite for your departure gate. That should be enough time.

Thank you for your reply. How about the return trip? Will I pre-clear US customs in Pudong? My return trip is PVG-SEA-YVR, with 2 hours layover

No, on your return trip you will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the underground train to your departure concourse. You will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs when you get to Vancouver.

Oops..... So do you think 2 hrs would be enough?

Yes, 2 hours should be enough.
