  • International arrival to Kansas city layover time 1hour 20 min?
    Nov 3, 2013
    1
My sister and brother in law are visiting us from Korea traveling with delta, and layover time is only 80min from DTW to Kansas City. I know they have to go thru custom, recheck baggage and more stuff before even get to the gate to KC. Is 80min enough for all that? They are 1st time flyers to US, so I am very worried.

After customs clearance & baggage re-check the tunnel connects in the center between Concourse A (near gate 38) and Concourses B & C (at Gates C1 of the lower level). They have sufficient time for transfer.

Hi, I have a 6 hour layover in IAD on Nov 26th and I need some entertainment. I don't want to leave the airport as I have a habit of getting lost or losing everything I own, missing flights and general misadventure really. Any ideas on how not to be bored out of my mind inside the airport, aside from the airport bar?

Download some games or movies to your smartphone or tablet and find a plug. If you're the more active type you can walk up and down the concourses or ride the mobile lounge around.

I am flying from Columbus airport at 6 am and will be arriving at JFK around 745 www will then be flying to Jamaica will I have to claim my baggage and recheck it and go thru customes??? How do you find out what terminal I will b flying out of??? Is there anywhere I can smoke or our we allowed to step outside????

No, you will go through Jamaican immigration when you arrive in Jamaica. If your tickets were bought on a single reservation you will not have to do anything with them until you get to Jamaica. With regards to terminals, you have to tell us what airline or airlines you are flying for us to help you. On your return from Jamaica, assuming you are again connecting at JFK, that is when you will have to go through US immigration, claim your baggage, go through customs, and re-check your baggage before your flight to Columbus.

I am flying with delta and what about smoking areas can I go past security and back thru when I land into JFK

Yes, you can (make sure you bring your boarding pass with you). Also, you will likely arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 4 at JFK. So if you're rushed for time you can take Delta's shuttle bus which runs inside security (where you won't be able to smoke) or if you have over an hour to make the connection, you can go outside to smoke, then take the JFK AirTrain/Air Terminals Train from T2 to T4 which runs outside security.

Thank you n yes our lay over is 3 hrs long

  • Lay-over preclearance?
    Oct 25, 2013

I'm leaving tomorrow from Ottawa to Washington for a connecting flight. I only have 45 minutes to go from the A gates to the D gates. Do I need to clear US Costoms in Washington and will I therefore have too little time, or is there a preclearance so that I'll be treated as a domestic citizen for flights from Ottawa?

Ottawa has preclearance so you will pre-clear US Immigration in Ottawa so 45 minutes should be enough time.

Go through US customs clearance at Ottawa Airport. On arrival at Terminal A of IAD, take the AeroTrain (follow signs), which serves A, B & C gates only - on arrival at gate C30 take the walkway to gates D1-32. You have enough time.

  • 1hr Layover enough time?!

I have 1hour to catch my flight from terminal D to terminal A - do you guys think I'll be able to make it?!

Yes, 1 hr transfer at IAH will suffice: The above-ground TerminaLink train, which starts its service at the Terminal A station, connects terminals A, B, C, D/E inside security (allow for 30 mins transfer from A to D).

  • 36 min layover - enough?

Hi! my friends and I are flying to LAX with Delta. We will arrive at terminal 5 at 10.24am. However, our connecting flight with Delta is at 11am at terminal 5 too. Will we be able to make it with 36min of layover? Do we have to go through security once again?

No you won't have to go through security. If your first flight is on-time you'll have enough time. Terminal 5 is not large.

  • Correction to earlier comment re. T4-T8 layover

A few minutes ago I sent an inquiry re. a friend's layover at JFK. She will actually be flying in to T4 from Israel, landing at 3.30 pm, and flying out T8 to Toronto at 8.30 p.m. Is there a place that I can meet her during the 5 hours she'll be waiting between flights?

Best place would be the exit of customs in T4.

i fly from memphis to new delhi,i land at atlanta at 5pm at terminal S i.e domestic with a delta fight and have to catch a 5.30pm flight with delta to paris.is the time sufficient and also i suppose i have to go through the immigration and security.and i have an 18 month old infant with me. your help will be appreciated.thank u

sorry the departure flight is at 5.50pm and i land at 5pm but i think i will be out of the plane at 5 15pm ad i guess the international flight will already be boarded so do u suggesr i change the tickets

You do not have to go through any immigration in Atlanta. You will only have to go from your arrival concourse (you arrive in one of the concourses T or A-D, not "Terminal S" and then you will depart from another concourse. Since Delta does not fly from Atlanta to Delhi nonstop, you will be flying somewhere else first, right? If that somewhere else is international, your departure will be in Concourse E and F. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

i fly from atlanta to paris, the concern is i arrive atlanta at 5pm and hane the connecting flight to paris at 5.50pm,so if u say that the immigration will be done at memphis will the time be enough to board the connecting flight to paris.taking in hand 15 minutes to get off the flight and board the 5.50 flight which will make it a 30 minutes layover time.

You won't have to go through any immigration in either Memphis or Atlanta. All you have to do in Atlanta is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The only time you will have to go through immigration on your trip is when you get to Delhi.

so 30 minutes is enough to catch the connecting flight to paris

  • Sufficient layover time

I arrive in dulles from orlando and have a connection to dublin, ireland , the layover is 1 hour 12 minutes, will this be sufficient time to make connection

The time should suffice. Your arrival at IAD depends on which airline you take; your departure is most likely from the Midfield Concourse C/D (D gates). (a)The shuttle bus to the D gates is located on the Main Terminal's lower level (to the right of the passenger walkway to A& B gates). The AeroTrain serves only A, B & C gates A1-32, B35-79, and C1-30; however, C gates C1-30 & D gates D1-32 are connected by a walkway.

i need know if is possible sleep in hotel inside the aeroport i have a stop for 13 ore

Houston has two Airports: 1. Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport IAH for international flights, 2. Houston Hobby HOU for domestic flights. At IAH, the on-Airport 'Airport Marriott Hotel' is located in the center of the Airport terminal complex (tel. 281-443-2310 or 800-228-9290), linking the airside of the terminals to the hotel's dining & conference rooms. HOU has no on-Airport hotel.

  • Meeting friend during his layover

A friend has a 4 hour layover arriving from SNA and leaving on an international flight to Scotland. Can we meet with him at the airport during his layover.

Yes, that might be enough time. Ticketing area of the international terminal is probably the best place.
