  • Always unorganized at IAH

Once again on a Frdiay morning full of travelers IAH continues to have one security line open, and no kiosk open to check your own bag. The management of security and check in at this airport needs to fly around the US and take some serious notes. I am sorry to call Houston my home every time I have to fly.

    What airline? Terminal?

I fly regularly through IAH on Sundays and the security line is inexcusable at Terminal D. I have a connection at B so will often take the bus over to B and go through security there. It seems better, maybe because its domestic.

I think a lot of people don't know you can go through security in B.

I walk with a cane. Is there, will there be any problem, at the air port or boarding my flight (DELTA) because of this?

No, that should not be a problem. Thousands of people do it every day.

We are traveling to Canada next week. We are departing from AEX on United Airlines Flt: 4389 to Houston International. We have a direct flight to Canada on United Air Lines Flt 0501 departing for Vancouver at 9:05. Will we have time to make our flight and which gate will we use?

United serves all Terminals A, B, C & E, at Houston Intercontinental - each of which has corresponding gates (i.e., C-14) - the above-grounTerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security. For detailed information open http://www.ifly.com/john-f-kennedy-international-airport/terminal-map

Your flight from AEX will arrive at A or B and your flight to YVR will likely depart from C.

Do I have to go through security to get to the USO?

Each Airport with USO facilities has its own location, some are not even inside the passenger terminals, some are on the arrivals level, and others at departures - if you give me the name of the airport, I will search for USO & reply.

We are flying in to Chicago( from Minneapolis) and are going overseas to europe - do we go trough security both in minneapolis and chicago?

Your arrival is either in Teminals 1, 2 or 3, your departure may be in Terminal 5, the International Terminal. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/ord then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text, which includes transfer options, terminals, concourses & gates, as well as current airlines.

If you can let me know the airlines you are flying I can help you with how to do your connection.

American airlines from minneapolis to chicago ( arrival 19.35) Departure SAS 22.05. So do I get all the way out of the terminal 3 and where do I find the train or shuttle? I have 2.1/2 hour which i suppose should be doable? I quess i wont have to trough security until in terminal 5. What about our luggage? Do we carry them to terminal or do we leave them at terminal 3?

Yes, you will have to exit security and then take the ATS train from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 and go through security again. If your tickets were booked on one reservation American should be able to check your bags through to SAS. Otherwise you'll have to claim them and take them on the train to T5.

How long should I allow for security for a 10:20 am flight on a Saturday morning? Or, how early should I get to the airport if I'm not checking baggage and already have my boarding pass?

Didn't realize that this wasn't specifically for O'Hare, so wanted to clarify that I'm flying out of O'Hare Terminal 2.

To be on the safe side, arrive at security check 40 mins prior to departure.

How long do I need to Be there before my flight if it is scheduled to take off at about 6:30am this morning?

At large airports, if getting ticket & checking in bags, arrive at terminal 2 hrs before domestic flight, 2.5 hrs before internatinal flight. If you e-checked in and printed boarding pass at home, half an hour less. (6:30am is rush hour time)

What time do the TSA gates open at Midway in the morning? in the past for an early flight the lines were holding until they opened.

I'm not sure but I think at about 4:30 or 5 AM

I'm flying tomorrow April 30th. How much time should I allow to clear security at Terminal 5 for a 2:55 pm international flight? It's that a busy time?

Depends on the airport, but that's usually before most of the international flights depart, so it shouldn't be that bad. There's nothing unusual going on right now that is making security lines any longer than normal.

I'm flying this evening. How much time should I allow to clear security at Terminal A for a 6:30 pm flight?

Can't predict that precisely. If you're really worried then show up 90 minutes or more before your flight. There's nothing out there right now making security waits any longer than normal.

How are the wait times with sequester today 4/25

I just posted the same question to BWI Marshall on Twitter. I see you didn't get an answer. How was it?

The sequester has not affected TSA wait times.

if i have a warrent will they ck? or know?

On an international flight, definitely. On a domestic flight it's less clear. Certainly people who have warrants have been picked up at the airport.

  • A quick way thru Ohare Security?

we arriive from Asia at Ohare and connect to a flight to Detroit. Immmigration and customs are quick..but even with two hours between flighst the security at Ohare takes so long we barely make our connecting flight.. I have Global entry security but it does not seem to help...am I missing this lane? or where iis it at? TSA does not seem to know what I'm talking about. Thank you

At ORD, the new Pre-Check lane is in Terminal 3, Security checkpoint 8, near door 3G (as stated at ifly.com) - TSA should have known.

There is also TSA Precheck in Terminal one in the main security area near the United Premier Access lane.

I recently moved and not updated my address on drivers license when i booked the flight used credit card with new address. Wil there be an issue because flight was booked with new address and id shows different address. If I change my address afraid wont get id back for flight because the state i live in issues paper copy and original is mailed to you 2weeks

There's no need for the addresses to match - the name on your ticket just needs to match the name on your ID.

I have a long layover at the Phoenix Airport. I have passes to the United club in Terminal 2, but I will be flying out of Terminal 4 on Southwest. These terminals are not connected. Will I be able to through security in Terminal 2 even though my ticket is not for an airline in that terminal?

At PHX, to get from T2 to T4, you must leave the secure area & catch the shuttle bus at the curb - as the Red Carpet Club at T2 is most likely in the secured area, you would have to go there through security check, as well as on your return via shuttle to T4.

samar13 thanks for repsonding to my post. What I trying to find out is if I will be able to enter T2, since I won't have tickets for an airline in T2.
