  • TSA? Lost Lisc at arrive mailed to home by airport-Departing w/o ID.

Do I need to contact TSA and how to contact them? I lost my lisc at baggage claim when I pulled my tickets to speak with baggage people at Southwest. I did not realize I lost lisc until yesterday and called Airport Security, informed me not found.Report to nearest PD & bring copy of report. My husband tested me last night with a pix of my lisc mailed to my home from the Chicago Airport. I have a copy do I still need to contact TSA? If so where is number please?

No, there is no way to contact TSA ahead of time even if you wanted to. When you get there you will just explain that you lost your ID and show any other documents that have your name on them (credit cards, school or employer ID, etc.). You will be subject to extra screening but you will be fine. This happens all the time.

  • Flying into PHL from the UK and connecting to Tampa
    Aug 12, 2014

Hi we fly into PHL from Manchester - UK on Sunday we have a 2 hour layover before our connecting flight to Tampa. Do we have to clear immigration and collect luggage then re check in before flying to Tampa or do we go straight to our Tampa flight and collect our luggage when we land there?

In Philadelphia you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags with US Airways, and then go to the departure level and through security. You should have enough time.

Thanks so much for the info

My 14 year old is traveling to Guam on August 13 she has to go through IAH. She's allowed to use the unaccompanied minor program but that's only for non-stop flights and there are no non stop flights to Guam. Will somebody be able to help her to her gate in Houston?

There are always people that she can ask for directions if she needs them, but nobody can escort her from gate to gate.

If my daughter lands JFK jet Blue and has 10 hrs before she leaves on KLM to Amsterdam, should she just hang out in JEt Blue terminal after she gets her bag until 4 hours before her international flight leaves

JetBlue uses Terminal 5 (T5) - her connection to KLM flight is at T4 - connected by the 'Airline Terminals Train' running counter-clockwise between all terminals at their pre-security areas. However, pre-security areas of terminals do not have as much amenities & services (food, shops, entertainment) as post-security areas - only accessible after security check. To familiarize herself with JFK, I suggest that your daughter opens www.ifly.com/jfk, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

My first time going to Germany and Italy. Do I need shots before going and provide proof?

No, you do not. US Citizens do not need a visa to visit those countries.

Canadian Citizen flying from Toronto-Frankfurt-Budapest. Do I clear customs in Frankfurt or Budapest? or both?

As Hungary is currently outside the Schengen area you will only go through Immigration and Customs in Budapest.

I am flying in on a Saturday from Jamaica and have a 93 min layover. Is this long enough to make it thru customs before I depart for Los Angeles

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration, collect your baggage, go through US Customs, re-check your bags, and go through security and then to your departure gate, which will likely be in Terminal C, which is directly connected to E.

I am 17 and I want to go to Arizona on August 1 till the 10th, my parents do not have an I.D but a passport, do I need permission from them and do they need to be the ones dropping me off at the airport or can my 21 year old brother take me. He is 21 and has a texas licenses and passport.

You can travel by yourself without any permission or documentation from the person dropping you off. You can just print out your boarding pass at home and go through security.

  • Teenage children flying from MCO to BOS without parents

We're flying to Orlando from Boston via JetBlue with our two teenage children (17, 14). They will be staying with grandparents for an extra week and flying back themselves. My 17 year old has some ID but my 14 year old does not. Will she need something and if so, what's appropriate?

Passengers under 18 do not need any ID.

Is anyone (or knows of anyone) traveling from the US to Brazil for the world cup? If so, at the airport (at ohare and in brazil) did you have to show your FIFA purchased ticket while going through customs/security?

  • Change of planes

Hi I'm planning to book a flight from LAS to BUF going through CLT with 1 hour for change of plane. I understand from reading the previous comments that CLT is not a big airport but I'm concerned that we have to go through security again which means unpredictable delays. Do we have to go through security or can just walk to the departure terminal (which I think is not that far) Many thanks for your help SWG
