time between flights

Arrive JFK from Athens on Delta flight at 3:10 pm, then transferring luggage/going through customs before boarding Jet Blue flight to OAK at 5:20 pm. What's the likelihood we'll make it on time?

You should arrive at JFK at Terminal 4. Make sure your bags were properly tagged with JFK and OAK. After going through customs, you need to re-check-in your bags, then proceed by Airtrain which runs at that time every 7 minutes to Terminal 5. T5 has on its departures level the surrounding gates.

Connection Times

Is my connection of 80 minutes really enough time to make it from Terminal 5 to Terminal 3? I'm ever so worried and this is my honeymoon so don't want to have to sit around Chicago waiting for another flight. I guess if AA offer this connection time then it's doable?

From O'Hare's International Terminal to any of the Domestic Terminals: After exiting the Federal Inspection and luggage re-check areas, proceed up one level to the Airport Transit System where you can easily connect to terminals 3 for domestic flights. The free ATS shuttle train running every few minutes can take you there. Terminal 3's Upper Level leads to Concourse L to the left with 11 gates, the Y-shaped gateway to Concourses K with gates K1-K20 and Concourse H with gates H3-H18 in the center, and Concourse G with gates G1A-G21 to the left - with gates G13-G117 on the Concourse's lower level . Look at your ticket to see which gate you need to go to. Very tight schedule.

Puse stolen

My purse was stolen so I've lost both my driver's license and ss card. I am flying from Houston to Vegas for wedding Oct 13th. It takes 45-60 days to recieve a new license in Texas. Can I use my birthcertificate and a non gov id to board?

For a domestic flights, it will do. Hope you notified SS Administration, etc. of your loss.

If you have no ID, let the ticket agent know. You'll get "enhanced" security and then will board the plane. (Or maybe the quotes should go around "security"?) Anyway, how would TSA know if your birth certificate were real? Match your footprints?

Something last minute came up and i need to take a plane to florida from nyc . I am 19 years old and i don't have my state i.d yet. Could i board a plane with a school i.d that just has my picture and name and my birth certificate?

Connection Time

Air Canada just changed my flight time from Detroit to Toronto. We have exactly 60 minutes to make our connecting flight to Austria. Recently I went from Toronto to Detroit and I went through US customs in Canada. My first question is: Will I go through Canadian customs in Detroit? Does this mean I will not have to claim and recheck my luggage in Toronto? Next I am wondering if I will have to change terminals and does this mean going through security again? Is 60 minutes going to be long enough to make my connection? I am traveling with my elderly parents that have problems with mobility.

Not sure if international arrivals from the US need to go through customs before transferring to another flight. Contact customer_service@gtaa.com to make sure.

my wallet was stolen at work i need to jump on a plane to get to my next job site but all i have is my old expired state ID. my SS card is also gone. will i have problems making it onto my plane?

Did you report the matter at your job site and do you have the tel. number and name you reported it to (or police)? This and 2 IDs with your photo on it may do the trick.

Flight change & customs

I will be returning from France and landing at ATL at 8:10 pm and then connecting flight leaves at 10 pm to Houston. Will I have to pick up my checked bags first, go through customs, and re-check them or will they go through customs and get transferred to the next flight? Either way, is that enough time to catch my next flight?

Yes - all international arrivals need to get they checked bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in bags if continuing on another flight.
