  • ID when flying from UK
    Jan 30, 2016
Other than passport is there any other ID required when flying from the UK (flight is on 21 Jan 16) as a connecting flight has to made to Kelowna (YLW) with little time to spare

If you are a UK citizen you have to complete ESTA before your trip. If you are a Canadian citizen you just need your passport.

I thought an ESTA was only required if you are visiting US, can you confirm this is the case as i'm staying with in Canada, thanks

  • Drivers license not valid ID
    Dec 31, 2015
My daughter (WA) and my husband (GA) both need to fly with no time to get a passport. Was either state issued an extension on the 1//16 deadline?

Georgia licenses are compliant and Washington was granted an extension

  • Ok DL
    Dec 30, 2015
My Mother was told when renewing her license that her OK DL would no longer be accepted as ID for flight as of 1-1-16. Is that correct?

She is fine until at least October 2016. Oklahoma was granted a 1 year extension.

  • 3 hours to gate, leaving CDG from checking line with heighten security
    Dec 25, 2015
With heighten security it took 3 hours to get to the gate, from standing in the 1st line to check in. No way to by pass these lines, luckily our plan took a delay because of so many passengers stuck in security.

  • Traumatic Brain Injury
    Dec 15, 2015
My husband has Traumatic Brain Injury and has little control over making comments that could raise red flags or just get him in trouble. Is there someway to be able to let Security know that prior to flight?

Carry a letter from his doctor.

  • Flying From Madrid > Paris > Nantes
    Dec 3, 2015
I am already in the Schengen area, will I have to go through passport control or some other type of screening process now when I land in Paris? My connecting flight to Nantes is 1 hour later, so I don't want to have any issues missing the flight..

No, there is no passport control when traveling between Schengen countries. You should have no issues as long as your flight from Madrid is on-time.

  • SJO > IAH > ORD
    Nov 28, 2015
Help! United 1490 to IAH has been delayed 26 minutes (now landing at 1734), leaving me 1 hour 40 minutes to get through customs/immigration in Houston and make it to UA 1027 (scheduled depart 1920). I have several checked bags. TSA prechecked, if that makes a difference, and both flights are on the same reservation. Can this be done?? Thank you!

That should still be enough time. If your flight gets delayed more United has almost hourly flights from Houston to Chicago.

now not landing in houston until 1759.. looking less and less likely that this is going to work. ugh!

There's an 11:55 pm IAH-ORD flight that looks to have plenty of empty seats, so you'll get to Chicago tonight, just really late.

  • Airport arrival time for international flights
    Nov 27, 2015
Why is the airport arrival time recommendation from international flights 2 hours but only 1 hour for domestic. It seems to me the process is identical for check in and security and you don't go through customs as a U.S. Citizen leaving from the U.S. Until you reach your destination.

International flights do board earlier, however, yes, the process is otherwise exactly the same. You do not actually have to arrive 2 hours early for international flights with most airlines.

  • Expired Drivers License
    Nov 24, 2015
While visiting a friend in FL my WI drivers license expired. I need to get back to WI to renew but don't know if they will allow me to board the airplane without a valid picture ID. Are there other forms of ID I can use. I don't have any other picture ID other than my now expired license.

In most cases they will allow you to use an expired Drivers license with another form of identification with your name on it.

  • Name on ticket
    Nov 24, 2015
My name on my ticket is Brenda Holman but my name on my drivers license is Brenda E Holman. Will that be a problem with security?

It should not be a problem.

  • Mrs.
    Nov 24, 2015
My name is Brenda E Holman on my drivers license but my plane ticket is just Brenda Holman. Will that be a problem with security?

No need to ask the same question twice.

  • Passport in 2016
    Dec 24, 2015
I will be flying out of Houston Airport on Feb.7, 2016. As of Jan. 2016 Louisiana residents need a passport to fly out of Louisiana. From Louisiana but flying out of Houston to California, Do I need a passport too at this airport?

Yes, Louisiana drivers licenses will no longer be accepted ID for any flight after that date.

Also, that date isn't set in stone. I think it's highly likely it could be pushed back. However, if you were planning on getting a Passport anyway, I would go ahead and do that.

That information is incorrect. In October 2015, Louisiana was granted a waiver of this requirement until October 20, 2016. Louisiana drivers licenses will still be accepted until that date.
