90 minute wait and counting at TSA Terminal 5. Stand still. Airlines keep cutting.

Do you mean the airlines are cutting people in line? Because unfortunately, airlines have no say in TSA staffing levels.

Flying through Miami from Italy on way to home in north Florida. Arrive Mia at 4:00 pm. Depart for Tallahassee, Florida at 9:30. Am I allowed to leave the airport and come back in time for my last leg to home in Tallahassee?

Yes, you can. After you clear customs and re-check your bags you will be outside security. Just keep in mind that it will be rush hour at that time so traffic outside the airport will be almost at gridlock.

I am wondering if I can go thru security with just my ID if I am not getting on a flight? I am just going to surprise someone at their terminal when they exit their plane and I'm wondering if I can get thru security to do so.

    No, you can't.

Flying out of IAD to London on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. What should I expect for time to get through TSA?

Probably 15-30 minutes. That is peak time at IAD, but also the Washington DC airports have some of the best TSA staffing in the country. Still be at the airport at least 90 minutes early.

I appreciate your listing of wait times...but I'm COLORBLIND and your color key is not helpful to me. Please RETHINK a color - keyed table. Approximately 7% of all men have a color perception problem like mine and approximately 2-3% of women!

  • 43 minute connection time

Hi, Flying into Houston Terminal B from Memphis with a 43 min connection time (assuming no delays) and flying out to Las Vegas from Terminal C. I don't have to collect baggage but is this enough time and do I have to go thro' security.

The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. That is enough time. Obviously it doesn't leave much time to spare if your first flight is delayed.

Thanks ZAP...was a bit concerned as never been thro' Houston before Cheers

I am trying to book a flight, but the one I am looking at drops me at DTW at 9:15. I am flying there to pick up a dog from a breeder. If the flight back to Boston leaves at 9:54 (same airline, JetBlue), would I have enough time to go back through security with the pup and make it to my flight? Thanks!

It would be pretty difficult. While security delays at DTW aren't as bad as some other airports. Essentially leaving you only 30 minutes to get through security and to your gate isn't something I would try.

That's what I kind of figured. Thank you for your response!

Hi, I am American traveling from Dublin to San Francisco, with an 8hour layover in Frankfurt. my question is do I have to go through customs if I want to explore Frankfurt for a few hours? thanks!

Yes, you will have to go through Schengen Passport control to leave the airport and then Schengen Exit passport control when you return to the airport. There's not much to see in Frankfurt - just hang out at the airport.

Hello I have an Irish Passport. I am only connecting through Canada (Calgary), I will not be leaving the airport, only clearing Immigration and Customs for U.S.A. - but will I still need an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization) for Canada?

flying from Montreal to Cedar Rapids...what is the required connection time in Chicago? Air Canada is showing 48 minutes...is that a legal connection?

Yes, that is a legal connection. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Montreal. All you have to do in Chicago is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Both will likely be in Terminal 2.
