  • Children and ID (last names not the same)

I'm traveling with my 2 children in a couple weeks (ages 4 and 9). First, do they need their birth certificate?, and second, my oldest does not have the same last name as me anymore, will that be a problem with security? If it will what documentation would I need to provide to prove I am his mother? We are traveling to Orlando on Delta.

No, if you are flying domestically, young children do not need any documentation. You do not need to prove anything regarding your children.

If he takes a domestic flight, it should suffice.

What is the policy on flying with haircutting shears in carry on luggage?

If the blades are 4 inches or less, yes, if larger, no. http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-information/prohibited-items
