I'll have a 42-min layover in SFO on my way to Vancouver from Dallas (all on United flights). Is this possible?? Will I go have to go through Canadian customs in SFO? I'm Canadian. Thanks!

I'm flying in from Chicago on American and have a connecting flight on Air Berlin to Berlin-Tegel with an hour and 20 minute layover. Do I have to change terminals? If so, is that enough time?

Were your tickets purchased together or separately? If together I think you should have enough time. You will arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal B. The different "Terminals" at DUS are really just wings of the same building, so it's a pretty easy connection. Just follow the signs to your departure gate. You will go through Schengen passport control on your route.

I'll be flying JetBlue from DC to JFK, with one checked baggage. My flight arrives at 9:30 PM in terminal 5. On a separate ticket, I'm flying from JFK to Stockholm on Norwegian Air, which leaves at 12 AM. Is 2.5 hours enough transit time to deplane, pick up baggage, then catch an international flight with check in?

Yes, that should be enough time. By the way, the airport code for Stockholm is ARN.

Hi, I'm a Russia sitzen and I've a layover in Vancouver (flying from Honolulu to Amsterdam through Vancouver). Do I need a visa to make this layover?

Yes, you will go through Canadian Immigration and therefore need a Canadian transit visa.

Hi, my husband and I are traveling from Montego Bay to Charlotte in June with a 4:40PM arrival time. We only have a 76 minute timeframe between flights. After speaking with a friend, I am now incredibly worried that we will miss our second flight leaving Charlotte to Portland, Maine, because of two reasons. One, I now know that we should have planned on a 90 minute time frame to get through customs, etc. Two, we did not book with the same airline for the two flights from Montego Bay (American Airlines to CLT & US Airways to PWM). I am hoping for some guidance here. If we miss our flight from CLT to PWM due to having to go through customs will the airline help with getting us home if it is not considered a connecting flight, or are we on our own? Can you tell I'm stressing out? Thanks for any help you can provide. I appreciate your time.

Both of your flights will actually be operated by US Airways. Yes, the airline will try to book you on the next flight to Portland if you miss your connection due to delays at customs. However, that flight may not be until the next day.

We're booked on Delta 1698 from SF arriving at 4:39 for a transfer to Rome on Air France (Operated by Delta) AF 3591 at 5:54. Is this enough time in July, 7/15? Thank you!!!

Yes., that should be plenty of time to make your transfer. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

We are flying into JFK on AA and arrive at 4:05 pm. Our AA flight to Rome leaves at 4:45 pm. Gates are across from each other - is this enough time or should we book an earlier flight into JFK?

We have a AA flight from SFO to JFK arriving at 4:05 pm. Our AA flight to Rome leaves at 4:45 pm. Are we going to be able to make that flight? We are carrying on our luggage.

It is possible. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 8. However it obviously leaves very little time to spare if the first flight is delayed.

Is 90 minutes enough time to connect with flight to charlotte after arriving in ATL from Dublin? Both flights are with Delta airlines and we have checked baggage.

Yes, that is enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Dublin. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse.

hi i have a flight arriving at 12:35 pm with swiss air from zurich and have booked a flight seperately with delta to boston at 3:30 pm. is that enough time? do i have to pick up my luggage in between flights?

Yes, that should be enough time. And yes, you will have to pick up your bags anyway to go through US Customs. Since you are purchasing a separate ticket you will then have to take them to the Delta check in counter and pay a fee to check them to Boston.

I fly in from Tampa to Atlanta and then connect to YYZ. Is that considered an International gate? Any idea if I would make it if the connecting flight leaves 35 mins after the Tampa flight arrives? I only need to pick up any bags in ATL

You do not have to pick up bags in Atlanta. Yes, Toronto flights do leave from the International gates (E concourse), however from a functional standpoint it's like any connection. Take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse and get on the plane. you can make it if the first flight is on-time, but it leaves no time to spare.

  • Enough time? Changing terminals
    May 28, 2015

My son is on a flight Saturday from Houston to Atlanta then Atlanta to Myrtle Beach SC with a 51 minute layover. Will he likely have to change terminals and how hard is it if necessary?

No, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. They may be on different concourses but all concourses are connected inside security by the Plane Train. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • 30 minute layover with gate checked stroller

I only have 30 minutes between flights, flying southwest both flights, and will need to gate check a stroller. Will I have enough time to grab stroller and make connection? Very nervous about traveling with infant.

You can probably make it. It obviously depends on the first flight being on-time.

  • Enough time in between connections?

My family and I will be arriving on a United flight and connecting to a Delta flight. We have two hours to collect our baggage, check in with Delta and go through security...is less than two hours enough time?

What airport? Is your United flight international or domestic?

I have a flight on the 30th of May from Bucharest to Syracuse Hancock International with connection on JFK. I land on JFK at 19:00 on terminal 1 and my next flight(for Syracuse)with Delta Airlines is at 21:50. It is my first flight to the USA and I am coming with a F1 student visa. Can you please tell me if I have to complete my I-94 form on JFK? And if I have to do that in there, do I have time to arrive at the next flight? Should I claim my baggage if I have only one ticket from Bucharest to Syracuse? Thank you very much!

They will have you fill out your I-94 form on the plane. You should have plenty of time. You will have to claim your luggage to go through US Customs but you can re-check it at the transfer desk right after customs. Then you will take the AirTrain from T1 to T4 and go through security.
