Hi I am going to take Air China from Beijing to IAD, and I will arrive IAD around 14:35. Then I need to pass the customs because I hold a foreign country passport and pick up my baggages. Then I need to transfer by United Airline from IAD to CVG, the departure time is 17:19. So the time I have between transfer is 2hr 44min. So are Air China and United Airline in same terminal? If they are, which terminal it is? And do I have enough time to be able to transfer?

IAD only has one Terminal. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and re-check your bags in the International Arrivals Building, which is an annex of the main Terminal, Then you will go through security and take the AeroTrain or mobile lounge to your departure concourse, A, C, or D. You have enough time.

Did you purchase your tickets together or separately? Will you have checked bags? You can get your Alaska Airlines boarding pass online before you leave London.

I booked a flight from MCI to LAX on Southwest with 2 hours and 10 mins between my next flight LIH on Hawaiian Airlines. I'll need to go pick up my checked in luggage and check it back in to the other flight. How long will (could) this take me?

Assuming your flight from MCI is on-time, your bags should come out within 30 minutes. It will take you about 5 minutes to Walk from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. So assuming the first flight is on-time that still puts you at the Hawaiian check-in counter 1 hr 35 minutes before your flight, plenty of time.

Hi, I'm flying Buffalo-Vienna with a connection in Newark. I have a 1hr 40min layover but have to change terminals from C to B. Both flights are bought on the same reservation. Will I have to pick up and recheck my luggage? Do you think that is enough time? Thank you!

Also forgot to mention that the first flight is with UA and the second with Austrian Airlines.

You will not have to pick up your luggage. You just have to take the AirTrain from Terminal C to Terminal B and go through security.

I have a 40 minute connection this summer for a domestic flight (SNA to BUF) on AA. Will that be enough time even if my flight out runs a few minutes late?

That would be barely enough time assuming the first flight is on-time.

  • 2 hours 10 min time to catch flight

I will be travelling from Istanbul to New York. My flight should land at 4:50 PM at Terminal 1, and I should catch a New York to Denver flight at 7:00 PM in Terminal 2. Do I have enough time to make it? I am not an US citizen so that means I will have to go through customs and immigration, and if JFK is full.... It will be Thursday afternoon when I land, if that makes a difference... I am using two different companies, the first being Turkish Airlines and the second Delta Airlines.... What should I do in case I miss my flight? From what I could see, the Turkish planes landed on average around 5:15 PM the last couple of days...

That leaves you enough time. if you purchased your tickets separately you will have to take your bags with you to your departure terminal. Note that Delta domestic flights can leave from Terminal 2 or 4. Check Delta.com on the day of your flight. If you miss your flight you will be stuck in New York overnight.

We arrive in EWR at 12.15pm flying with UA. Our connecting flight to MCO also with UA is at 2.30pm. I understand that we will have to collect and recheck bags, but could anyone tell me which terminal we will be flying into/out of and let me know if this is enough time. Thanks

Where are you flying from? Can't help you much without that info.

  • Terminal C to D with luggage - what options?

We will change airlines (United to Singapore) so must go from Terminal C to D. We have lots of time but quite a few heavy bags, and will be leaving the security zone. We have used the underground train before but getting bags there and onto it is hard. Are there any other options?

If you show your Singapore confirmation to the agent in your origin city they may check your bags through to your Singapore flight, considering both airlines are in Star Alliance.

I will be flying Nashville to London via Detroit Wayne County on Virgin/Delta. 1st question...is this the same airport as DTW? 2nd....would 1hr 4mins be enough time to make the connection given I will be travelling on my own with my 16 month old. Would I have to change terminals? Thanks

Yes, Detroit only has one airport with commercial service, DTW> Yes, this is enough time. No you will not have to change terminals. All Delta flights at DTW are located in the McNamara terminal and connected inside security. All you have to do in DTW is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Good Day Is it possible for me to connect from Mo-Bay on Jetblue Terminal 4 to Jetblue terminal 3 in 90 minutes? I will need to clear Immigration & Customs also retrieve a checked bag.

It should be possible if the first flight is on-time.

hi, my plane would arrive at CLT at 7:24, and i have a connection to my next flight at 8 to florence (FLO, SC) my question: are 36 minutes enough for me to change the plane and to catch that flight? i will come from europe and therefore have got checked bags. thanks for the answer!

NO!!! 36 minutes is impossible for an International to Domestic connection at Charlotte. You need at least 90 minutes. Contact US Airways or your Travel Agent and demand to be rebooked.

  • Time to go through immigration and customs?

Flying CDG to Redmond OR, through SEA. Will a 2 hour 28 min connection in SEA be enough time to deplane in International terminal, go through immigration and customs, and make the domestic flight on Alaska Airlines to Redmond?

Seattle does not have an International Terminal. If all your tickets were purchased on one reservation you will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate in the C, D or N concourse. They are all connected inside security by the Underground trains. You should have enough time if all your tickets were purchased on one reservation.

Arriving from US at 8:05 on United and want to connect to Alitalia flight to Sardinia at 9:30. Too tight?

It's possible, especially if you check in online for your Alitalia flight before you leave the US. Also, no flights arrive in T5. It is a departure only check-in building. You will arrive in the T3 Satellite.

I'm flying Delta- arriving at B6 and think I depart from S2 I have a 36 minute lag between flights- though it is a pair by Delta. Anyone have an idea how long to get between the two? I'll have my luggage with me.

It's possible, It will take you maybe 10 minutes to get from B to S. It leaves no time to spare for the first flight to be delayed.
