  • SFO-SEA then SEA-NRT (Narita)-Singapore (1 hr 7 min layover)

Both SFO-SEA (arriving 11:35 AM) and SEA-NRT (departing 12:42 PM) flights are with Delta. Do we have enough time to make it to the international flight? I suppose we can check through (SEA-NRT-SG) our luggage at SFO, right? Many thanks!

  • Terminal C and F connections

I'm planning a trip from YWG to IAH in March and we have only an hour to make a connection arriving at C and leaving from F - Terminal 1 to 2, I think - is this enough time or am I rolling the dice on making this connection - it would be the last flight out to IAH that night.

That should be enough if the first flight is on-time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate and T1 and T2 are connected inside security. There's also a good chance both gates will actually be in Terminal 1.

Hi. So i'll be flying to LAX from MSP then flying from LAX to Ixtapa, Mexico. My layover is 1hr 20 minutes. Both my flights are Delta Airlines and all that I will have is a carry on. Can I make it if my flight is on time? Sincerely, Never flown internationally

All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 5, on your way to Ixtapa. you should have plenty of time if your first flight is on-time.

Hi I'm not from the USA. I'm flying from CRW to EWR on march 7th and have to change planes at IAD, I have 40 minutes to change. Will that be enough? And do you know if the arrival gate and departure gate will be in the same terminal? Next question: on march 15th I'll fly from BRU (Belgium) to CRW and have to change planes again at IAD, this time I will have 2,5 hours. Will that be enough to go trough immigration (- non US residence) and catch my plane? All flights are with United Airlines. Thank you so much!

IAD only has one terminal. 40 minutes is barely enough time if your flights are located on different concourses. It should be plenty of time if they are on the same concourse. There's a good chance both flights will be in concourse A. yes, 2.5 hours will be plenty of time to go through US Immigration for your flight from BRU.

Hi, I'll be flying YVR to LAS with a connection in LAX (2h 12m) and on the return trip, same route, connection time 1h 50m All on Delta. Will I have to go through customs in LAX? Is this enough time? Thanks!

Oh, and all carry on. No checked bags! Thanks!

You will not go through Customs in LAX on either route. On your way to LAS you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. On your way back you will go through Canadian Immigration in Vancouver. You should have enough time

I am flying Vancouver-Minneapolis-Hartford, all on delta. I have 63 minutes in Minneapolis. Is this enough time to get through customs?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in MSP is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Im considering buying a ticket that will have me arrive from Austin, TX on DL1858 at 3:25 and leave on DL82 for Paris on 4:20. Will 55 minutes be enough? I might have to clear customs or?

You will not clear customs. You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where your Paris flight will depart. That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time.

I am flying into D 44 and flying out of D 36 with a one hr. Time. Is it possible?

Is your first flight domestic or International? What airline or airlines are you flying? I'm not familiar with any gates that start with "D" at JFK.

You are correct...arriving Delta 3880 at gate B 44, which I cannot find on map. Leaving Delta 484, leaving from gate B 36, which appears on the terminal 4 map.

Didn't mention that my first flight is domestic. Then, international

That is plenty of time. all you have to do is a 2 or 3 minute walk between gates.

I am flying into Boston from Iceland at 6:35 PM. If I book a flight to Nashville from Boston at 7:23, will I have enough time to make the connection? Is 7:23 the lates flight I can get? Would I be better off getting a hotel in Boston & flying out early the next morning?

No, that's not enough time. You will have to spend the night in Boston.

I'm flying into JFK Terminal 4 from London on Virgin due to land at 18.30 and flying from JFK Terminal 5 at 20.33 on Jetblue to Denver. Have allowed enough time to get through immigration and change terminals?

Did you purchase your tickets together or separately? If separately it will be hard for you to get through customs and then get your baggage to T5 before the checked baggage cutoff (this is assuming you are checking bags). if you purchased tickets together or are not checking a bag I think you'll be OK.

Hi- We are flying from Toronto to Chicago (WS 5598) and then from Chicago to Tokyo (JL7009). We have 1hr 55mins to make the connection and we have checked bags. Do we need to go through customs? Do we need to re-check our bags? Or can we just walk from one gate to the next? Thanks.

Note that both flights will be operated by American Airlines. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 3.

    Thank you!

Hi there! I am arriving from Amsterdam, and my final destination is Pittsburgh via MSP. It is my first time in USA. What should I do upon arrival to MSP in order not to miss my connection flight to Pittsburgh? Thanks!

You will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate.

Thanks ZAP, one more thing, by chance do you know is there any transfer service in MSP that I can request? Thanks.

No there is not, nor is it necessary. MSP is not a busy international airport and sees only a handful of international arrivals daily.

How do I get from Terminal 8, gate 88 to Air Canada Terminal 2 - only have 1 hour to connect. Security again?

You need to exit T8 and walk straight across the parking garages, Over there will be T2. You will have to go through security again. IF your first flight is on-time and you hurry you will have enough time.

  • Layover 55 minutes between Terminal 3 and Terminal 5

HI, I'm flying BNA-ORD-LHR and I'm arriving into Chicago at 20.49 in Terminal THREE, and my flight to Heathrow is departing at 21.45 in Termiinal FIVE. That means I have 55 minutes to make the connection? Is that enough time? I understand I do NOT have to go through Customs/Immigration, is that correct?

Correct, you do not have to go through US Customs when leaving the US. There are two routes. The first is that you can take the British Airways shuttle bus from Terminal 3. It leaves Terminal 3 from gates G17 and K20, but it does not run frequently. Alternatively you can take the ATS train from T3 to T5, but you will have to go through security again when you get to T5.

Thanks for this! Do you think 55 minutes is then enough time to make the connection? I assume my bags will be checked all the way through to LHR.

Yes, you don't have to do anything with your bags. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time and you hurry.

We are travelling fro Edinburgh to Orlando by United via EWR Do we pick up our bags at EWR and transfer them Do we change terminals

Yes, you will have to pick up your baggage after you go through US Immigration, then go through US Customs, then re-check it at the transfer desk. You will likely have to change terminals as you will likely arrive in Terminal B but you will depart from Terminal C. However there is a chance you will arrive in Terminal C. Either way you will have to go through security in Terminal C.
