TBIT to T5Mar 16, 201220I arrive on an intl flight on Fri 915PM and need to be on a flight in T5 at 1140PM. Do I have enough time for the transfer considering immig and customs? Also, do I need to bring my check-in bag all the way to T5?leeposted on Fri, Mar 16[ Reply ][ Like ]1. You did not state the airline you arrive with at LAX. Look at your ticket to see which terminal you arrive at: T1 has gates 1-14; T2 21-39; T3 30-39; T4 42-49; T5 50-69; T6 60-69; T7 70-77; T8 80-88 & TB (Bradley Terminal/ TBIT) 101-123. 2. At your original airport you need to find out if your first airline will transfer bags to your connecting airline (not all airlines do) 3. On arrival you will spend about 35-45 mins for customs procedures (unless you have gone through US customs clearance by participating airports): you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in bag (or take bag to connecting terminal) - the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport. 4. LAX's terminals are arranged in a U-shape, served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from TBIT, the next stops are at T4 through T8, it then goes on to the opposite side with T1, T2, T3 and back to TBIT. Count on 2 minutes for each stop. - Yes, time will be adequate.frmar12posted on Fri, Mar 16

Mar 16, 201210Southwest arrives at Terminal T1. You need to exit the terminal and take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be T2, T3 & TBIT - about five mins. - At TBIT you need to go through security before proceeding to your departing gate. NOTE: Make sure Southwest will transfer your checked bags to your connecting flight.frmar12posted on Fri, Mar 16

Layover, Change Terminals, Secuity AgainMar 16, 201210Hello: I arrive at EWR in late May on UA4416 Flight operated by EXPRESSJET AIRLINES (i.e. UNITED EXPRESS) from GSO at 11:30 AM, and depart EWR at 12:35PM for HNL on UA15. Which Terminal/Gate do I arrive and depart at, and if different terminals do I have enough time, how do I transfer between terminals, and do I need to go through security again?crsmposted on Thu, Mar 151. United & United Express use Terminal A which has three gate areas: area A1 with gates A10-18, A2 gates A20-28 and A3 gates A30-39. You simply walk to your connecting gate. (Your ticket should indicate gate number - if not, on arrival at EWR, look at overhead screens to find your connecting gate number.frmar12posted on Fri, Mar 16

Connecting flight to New OrleansMar 16, 201210I am arriving from Abu Dhabi by AA-6008 on Terminal-5 & need to catch up AA-3779 from Terminal-3 for New Orleans. Should I book my luggage for New Orleans or I need to collect it for againg booking for the new destination?Yawar Abbasposted on Thu, Mar 151. As international arrival, you need to go first through passport control, pick up bags, go through customs clearance and recheck-in your bags - taking about 35-50 mins. 2. Since both are AA flights, your bags will automatically be transferred to your connecting gate at T3. 3. Between T5's ATS level the and the domestic terminals 1, 2 & 3, the ATS shuttle train runs every few minutes - it makes its loop run counter clockwise (T1 is the last stop) - the full loop takes at least 30 mins. NOTE: T3 has concourses G, H, K & L: The Upper Level leads to Concourse L to the left with 11 gates, the Y-shaped gateway to Concourses K with gates K1-K20 and Concourse H with gates H3-H18 in the center, and Concourse G with gates G1A-G21 to the left - with gates G13-G17 on the Concourse's lower level - look at your ticket (and an overhead screens on arrival) for your connecting gate number.frmar12posted on Fri, Mar 16

Terminal 5 to Tom Bradley TerminalMar 16, 201210Is it faster to walk between Terminal 5 and Terminal TB or to take the shuttle? If we walk, should we go through security in T4 and then over to TB or go through security in TB?JOYposted on Thu, Mar 15Since the shuttle runs only every 12-15 mins the opposite way (T5-T8 to T1-TB - 6 stops or 15 mins - you are better off, exiting T5 and walking over to TB (Tom Bradley Terminal) - shouldn't take you more than 10-15 mins. At Bradley, you need to go through security check.frmar12posted on Fri, Mar 16

Enough time?Mar 15, 201210I was wondering if 1 and 1/2 hours will be enough to catch my connecting flight will be arriving from MExico city at 2:30, my connecting flight to Canada leaves 5:34. Do i have to pick up luggage and go trhough security again?Eligasaposted on Thu, Mar 15As international arrival at IAH, you will be processed in the International arrivals building, which is part of Terminal E (and also accessible from TC). Arriving passengers go through customs & take the escalator down to Baggage Claim Level 1. From there they go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area, and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby -which has an escalator down to inter-terminal train to Terminals A, B & C - depending on your connecting airline to Canada. You have plenty of time.thmar12posted on Thu, Mar 15

2,5 hour to get from T3 to T8 on sundayMar 15, 201210I arrive to JFK Terminal 3, 12.45pm and flying again to miami and then to carribean at 2.30pm from Terminal 8. Is that possible and do you have any helpfull advice that could help me not being so stresfull!? How to do it the fastest way?? How generaly can I do it???Renataposted on Thu, Mar 151. I presume you arrive & depart at JFK with Delta at T3 (Terminal 3), and depart at Terminal 8 (you did not indicate airline). All terminals at JFK are served by the free Airtrain - located at T3 outside domestic arrivals. You have plenty of time! Then you take a flight to Miami (arrival & departure location depends on your airlines). Miami's Skyride Connector, a moving walkway, connects all terminals ad makes 4 stops inside the long Concourse D. (Miami International Airport has three passenger terminals - the North Terminal with Concourse D, the Central Terminal with Concourses E, F & G, and the South Terminal with Concourses H & J – all arranged in a semi-circular shape, surrounding parking areas) Look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive at/depart from (also open ifly.com/jfk and ifly.com/mia - then click on 'Terminal Map' and scroll down for details. Also look at "Airlines".thmar12posted on Thu, Mar 15

Changing planesMar 15, 201210I have a United flight from OKC to ORD coming in at terminal 2, we are departing Aer Lingus terminal 5, will we have to pick up our bags and go back through security?jwposted on Wed, Mar 141. Only international arrivals need to go through customs clearance procedure. However, on your return from Ireland, use their U.S. customs clearance so you won't have to do it when arriving back at U.S. 2. At ORD, the ATS shuttle train connects domestic and international terminals and takes minutes. (T2 has E & F gates, T5 has M gates - located around the concession court - around the concessions Court - to the right with gates M12-M21, and to the left with gates M7-M1, extending in the center to gates M8-M11 (prepare yourself for long walks from check-in to gates).thmar12posted on Thu, Mar 15

Terminal 2 to Terminal 5Mar 15, 201220Arriving at 9:30 at Terminal 2 on Delta. Connecting flight departs Terminal 5 at 12 noon on Asiana. Is the 2 and a half hours enough time for me to claim my baggage, get to Terminal 5, check in with Asiana, and get through TSA inspection?jwhposted on Wed, Mar 14Unless you are an international arrival (without U.S. pre-clearance from participating Canadian airports) you need not go through passport check, pick up bag, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bag. Make sure when checking in at your original airport that your bags are properly tagged with all three airport codes so that they will arrive at your end destination. Also make sure Delta transfers to Asiana - not all airlines do. The ATS train runs between Terminal 5 and the domestic terminals every few mins. You have plenty of time.wemar12posted on Wed, Mar 14

3 to 4 pick up recheck dog fastest?Mar 14, 201210How can I get from terminal 3 pick up my bag and dog and recheck them and get to terminal 4 the fastest. I arrive at 9 am and am supposed to depart at 10:40 am? Please and thank you!***posted on Tue, Mar 131. LAX has no dog reference at their website. Found this site http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060818084328AA6HIWU - also LAX e-mail infoline@lawa.org. In general, when checking in your dog you need to ask your airlines where the dog will arrive & where he must be re-checked in (or if first airline transfers to next airline). Your bag should have all three airport codes on the tag so it would automatically arrive at Terminal 4. You can actually walk between Terminals 3, Bradley Terminal, to Terminal 4, but need to go through security check there. On arrival at T3 you may want to take your dog to the pet relief area - usually on the sides of terminals - before you take him to the next terminal. That would give him a bit of exercise before you check him in at T4. Walking would take you no more than 10 mins; also the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', runs every 12-15 mins. and takes about 5 mins.wemar12posted on Wed, Mar 14

How quick to ConnectApr 25, 201220Looking into purchasing a ticket with a brief 35 min layover at SLC enroute to Orlando. How busy is this airport? Do they have a train like Atlanta to get b/t concourses? I could take an earlier flight, which gives me a 2 1/2 hr layover, but wanted some advice from fellow travelers at SLC. Thanksshoeposted on Tue, Mar 13Domestic Terminals: Terminal 1 has Concourse A (American, Continental, Continental Express, Frontier, & JetBlue, US Airways & US Airways Express) and gates A1-8; and on Concourse B (Delta & Southwest) gates B1-18. Terminal 2 (Delta) has Concourse C and gates C1-13 - The terminals are connected to each other and concourses and gates are easily reached from level 2.wemar12posted on Wed, Mar 14Is it likely to make a connecting flight departuring from terminal 2 if arriving 30 minutes prior at terminal/concourse B? Any additional security check to go through? Walking or other transportation? Estimated time to walk from extreme far point at concourse B to Terminal 2?tloftlofposted on Wed, Apr 25

Tranfer from Cancun to SeattleMar 13, 201210Do I have enough time to collect my baggage and get through customes with only a 1 hour layover? What happens if we don't make it to our flight in time? WIll they hold the flight for us?RoseJposted on Tue, Mar 13Your international arrivals procedure takes at least 35-45 mins. Add another 15 mins to get to your connecting terminal & gate; 1 hour is way too short. This is what you have to do when arriving at IAH: The International Arrivals building (part of TE)at IAH can be accessed from both TE and TC, with separate US Customs. Arriving passengers go through customs & take the escalator down to Baggage Claim Level 1. From there they go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area, and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby and the Exits. This area also has an escalator down to train, Terminals A, B & C and the tunnel to Terminal D, the International Arrivals Lobby & Passenger Greeting Area. You need to look at your ticket and on arrival at the overhead screens to find your departing flight and gate. Then take the below-ground inter-terminal train to your connecting terminal, go through security check & on to your gate.tumar12posted on Tue, Mar 13
