Hello! On February third I will be traveling from cancun and arriving in DFW at 2:25pm, and then I have to catch my connection to SFO at 4:00pm. Will that be a reasonable time considering that I'm a US citizen and my boyfriend is an ESTA passport holder (british). We will also check one bag each. Thank you for your time!

  • Connecting between Terminal 4 and 5

Hi, My wife is traveling from India to San Jose. and she has a connecting flight in JFK. She will be reaching at Terminal 4 and have to go to Terminal 5 to board the next flight. Let me know the procedure for the same. Thanks.

She will arrive in Terminal 4, go through US Immigration, claim her bags, go through US Customs, then if she purchased her tickets together and her bags are tagged through to San Jose, she can re-check her bags at the transfer desk, otherwise she will have to take her bags with her. In T5 she will check her bag if she hasn't already, get her JetBlue boarding pass if she doesn't already have it, go through security and to her departure gate.

She has booked her ticket together. So i assume she can checkin her bag in T4 itself. And will she have to come out of the airport for moving from T4 to T5, as am worried about the climate. If its within the airport then normal temperature would be maintained isn't it.

I am booking return flights from Orlando back to the UK, with a short connection in Atlanta (Delta flight). However I only have 56 minutes between flights. Do I have to recheck baggage and go through customs and immigration? How long does this take? The flight from Atlanta to the UK (Manchester) is Virgin Atlantic.

All you have to do in Atlanta on your way back to the UK is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. 56 mins is enough time.

I have a 42 minute stop over in SLC in February; flying in on Delta Air from Albuquerque, and out again to Canada on another Delta flight. Will this be enough time to make my connecting flight? mid afternoon

Yes, that should be enough time. All Delta gates at SLC are connected inside security.

Arriving on a Saturday afternoon from london on a non us passport with 1hr 27 mins connection time for flight to FT Myers. Is this enough time to clear immigration, customs etc and make connecting flight?

That should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Although Saturday afternoons in the springtime can be busy as that is when many flights from the Caribbean arrive and have to go through immigration as well.

I am flying from birmingham uk to Amsterdam for connecting flight to bali. I have 1hr 5 - will that be enought time? do I need to go through additional security?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will have to go through security at your gate but you will not have to go through passport control as you will not be entering the Schengen Area.

Flying from LHR thru IAH to MID. Have 83 minutes to connect. Is this enough time? Do I need to go thru security in IAH?

That's a bit of a difficult connection. You will arrive in Terminal E, go through US Immigration and Customs, then go to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate which will also be in E. Since you are on an International to International connection you should not have to claim your bags but confirm that with the United agents in London and Houston.

  • SFO to JFK to Brussels

We are flying from SFO arriving in JFK Terminal 7 at 3:40PM. Connecting flight from JFK Terminal 1 to Brussels Belgium at 5:55PM. We booked the flight from SFO to Brussels on Ebookers (so 1 ticket I guess). Is this enough time to transfer? Do we need to pass through customs again?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will take the AirTrain from T7 to T1. You will have to go through security in T1. You will not have to go through customs as you do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. You will go through Schengen passport control when you get to Brussels.

    Thank you!!

I will fly into JFK with KLM and arrive at 3:40PM My next flight is at 7:14 PM from Terminal 5. Will I make it and do I take a train or a shuttle bus? Does this cost money and how much? Thanks!

After you clear Customs you will follow the signs to the AirTrain. it is free to take between Terminals. Once there you will have to check your bags at the counter with JetBlue (if you have any). You should have enough time.

  • Terminal 4 to Terminal 1 - 1 hr 17 min layover

Hi, I'm flying from DFW to JFK then on to Paris, my flight from arrives at JFK at 2:48 pm in Terminal 4, the next one leaves Terminal 1 at 4:05 pm. Will I make it? Had no idea one has to go BACK through security just for a connection.

That should be enough time. You have to go through security because you have to change terminals. if you would have flown Delta to Paris then you would not have to change terminals and go through security.

Thanks. Yeah this is the only airport I've ever heard of such, every other one I've ever been to has a connection train between terminals that's inside security.

Oh, and I actually am flying Delta, but the JFK to Paris leg is AirFrance, which I guess is a Delta partner.

JFK is a rather old airport, designed before connections and alliances were really a thing.

i am flying from canada to phl through us airways and have a connecting flight to doha...where is the qatar airways check in desk? do i have to check in at the qatar airways desk? is two hour enough to make it?

If you purchased your tickets together you will not have to go to the Qatar Airways check in Desk. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Canada unless you are coming from Quebec City. All you will have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. if you arrive in Terminal F, it is connected to the other terminals inside security by a shuttle bus. If you purchased two separate tickets you will have to bring your bags to the Qatar Airways desk in Terminal A. If you purchased your tickets together you should have plenty of time.

  • London to SFO Terminal 1 then SFO to Auckland New Zealand

Is 2h 25min enough time to connect. Do I have to clear US customs? On a BA flight in and then Air New Zealand out

You will not arrive in Terminal 1. You will arrive in concourse A of the International Terminal. When there you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs. If you purchased your tickets together and your bags are tagged through to New Zealand, you can re-check your bags at the transfer desk. Otherwise, you will have to take your bags to the departure level and the Air New Zealand check-in counter to re-check them. Your ANZ flight will depart from the G concourse of the International Terminal. You should have enough time but do not have much time to spare in case of delays on your inbound flight.

Also, you will have to go through security after your bags are re-checked before your departing flight.
