Sorry, I posted the question below and people understood it wrong. I will arrive from Brazil in Wasshington Dulles and then make a connection to Miami. I arrive with United and leave with United Express. Is it 96 minutes enough time for me? What do I need to do? What is the best way? Please help me fast, I travel in 2 days.

At IAD, all international arrivals are being transported to the International Arrivals Building for TSA clearance. You need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). This takes between 35-45 mins. Allow for plenty of time if you need to transfer to another flight. International arrivals who continue their journey cannot use the AeroTrain, but need to take the shuttle bus to their connecting gate. You have enough time. (On arrival check the overhead screens to find your departing flight to Miami, gate number & time.

Which Terminal houses American and Alaska Airlines?

At SMF, both American & Alaska airlines are in Terminal B.

I am arriving in Terminal C, pre-cleared from YHZ, and departing Terminal A. I seem to remember a shuttle. Is this still available?

AirTrain station is in Terminal C on upper level's center, and in Terminal A close to gateway A2 - both at post-security. - just follow signs.

I bought a ticket from United, but the flight is a codeshare, operated by lufthansa. Which counter do I check in at?

You check in with Lufthansa at Terminal B.

Escorting two 93 yr olds, my cousin and my uncle, (good walking mobility, but they get confused) from BWI to SMF and then to DEN on Southwest. Need to get my cousin to her daughter in SMF (we arrive 10:40am) and then escorting the my uncle to DEN (departing 11:55am). Where in the airport do I tell the daughter to meet her mom? I and my 93 yr old uncle do not wish to exit security and then have to go through security again, afraid of missing DEN flight. And can you tell me if I can watch my cousin meet up with her daughter from a distance or will I have to take her myself? Or does SMF have a service where personal will escort my cousin to wherever, to meet her daughter? Thanks for your time.

I suggest that the daughter contact the Airport at http://www.sacramento.aero/smf/contact/ to get permission to meet at gate, or have her call SMF - (916) 929 5411. You should stay in the secured area with your uncle until your flight departs to Denver.

  • International Connection, little time

Hi, I'm going from Brazil to Miami with a connection in IAD. The point is that I'm really lost, I tried to understand things and to learn how to get from one plane to the other and till now I didn't find the right answer. I have 1:36 hours between flights, is it possible? I arrive on flight UA860 and depart on Flight UA3741 (United Express, operated by Mesa Airlines). What is the best way? Is this time enough? Will I need to exit arrival terminal and make a new check-in? PLEASE help me, I'm going crazy here. Thank you!

I understand that you will arrive from Brazil (Sao Paolo CGH, GRU or VCP??) at Miami Airport and will then take a domestic flight to Washington Dulles Airport. You will arrive at Miami via United at the Central Terminal, Concourse G. From there, international arrivals will be processed in Arrival E: you you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Separate inspection areas according to airlines, are in Arrivals E at Central Terminal, and Arrivals J at South Terminal. The procedure should take about 35-40 mins. Therafter, you take the Skyride Connector to your departure terminal. Signs will guide you. (When arriving at MIA check the overhead screens to find your connecting United/Mesa flight and gate number.

Sorry, but I will arrive in Washington Dulles Airport, then will take a domestic flight to Miami...

  • Where is Gate HG?

My Horizon flight usually lands at something called Gate HG, but I can't find it anywhere and need to know where it is so I can figure the best way to connect with American to Chicago in about 1 hour, if all goes well. Thanks.

Horizon now goes officially under name of Alaska Airlines (after merger); Alaska uses a number of gate areas - depending on where they come from: click on http://www.portseattle.org/Sea-Tac/Flights-Airlines/Pages/default.aspx?typ=A&fltnum=&city=&from=&to=&airline=QX&dt=04-07-2012 [change date if it's not today's] and add your details. American is in Concourse A. All concourses asre connected at post-security.

How long will it take to get from concours CD to B ? We have just 60minutes between flights

    1. Concourses C & D of the IAD Airport: C gates C1-30 & D gates D1-32 are connected by a walkway. One hour would be plenty of time. Concourse D gates cannot be reached b the AeroTrain which connects all other gates inside security. Note - Arriving passengers: Follow signs 'TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION'; domestic arrivals at A, B or C gates should follow the AeroTrain sign; international arrivals will board the shuttle to US Customs. If you are an international arrival, you will need to to through passport check, pick up your bags, go through TSA clearance, then re-check-in you bag before boarding the shuttle bus to your connecting B gate - that would take up to an hour.

where is the arrival point (level) for allegiant airlies? upper, lower?

Arrivals level is in most airports on the ground / first level, regardless of airlines. The overhead screen at the baggage carousels indicate airline & flight number.

  • LAX T4 to T8, 1 hr connection

I plan to walk from T4 to T8. How long is the walk? Which Terminals in between are not connected besides T4 and T5? Is it possible for me to make the connection within 1 hour?

Actually you have 2 choices - both of which require going through security check again and both can be easily done within 25 mins: (a) Take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. - four stops after T4 or 10 mins.; (b) Exit T4, walk over to T5, take escalator down and use the tunnel to T7; exit T7 and walk over to T8.

Once I arrive to IAD from ROC on United and need to find my other UNITED flight where do I go? Is it a long walk from arriving to my departing flight? I only have 45 minutes.

United uses Midfield Concourses C, B & D with corresponding gates (i.e., gate C14, A15, etc.). If your gate number is not on your ticket, you need to look at the overhead screens on arrival at IAD to find your connecting gate number. While the underground Aerotrain runs a continuous loop to Concourses A/B and C, it does not serve the D gates, for which you need a shuttle bus. These gates connect via Aerotrain: A1-32, B35-79 & C1-30. Follow signs and hurry.

I will be arriving from san diego on 4-11, flight 259 and am to catch flight 3730 to louisville, what gates will i be coming and going to and do i have enough time

Your ticket should indicate which terminal / gate you arrive at & depart from. Flight numbers are not announced so far in advance. (When arriving at PHX look at the overhead screens to find your connecting flight. Open www.ifly.com and click on "Terminal Map" - below it are airline, terminal & gate descriptions. To change terminals you need to take the inter-terminal bus at the curb.

  • 1 hour layover enough

I will be taking United Airlines from Vancouver to Chicago. With 1 hour layover. And then from Chicago to Baltimore. Will I have enough time from gate to gate given only 1 hour layover?

Vancouver, BC (Canada) So it would be Canada --> Chicago --> Baltimore

    1. Make sure to use the U.S. customs clearance at Vancouver - you save time at ORD. 2. United uses both Terminals 1 & 2 for domestic flights. T1 & T2 are connected at their gate areas. T1 has Concourse B (gates B1-22) and Concourse C (gates C1-32); T2 has Concourse E (gates E1-15) and Concourse F (gates F1-14). You have enough time for transfer.

    Thank you!
