I'm coming from YVR (Vancouver, bc) to DFW by AA at 7:10pm and I'm taking Qatar Airways to Doha at 8pm. Is 50 mins enough to catch the next flight. I booked both the tickets together. Do I have to pickup my luggage? Thanks

  • Connections for 15 year old daughter - please advise

I live in Rochester NY and my 15 year old daughter is on a flight on Saturday december 20th at 18.11 from ROC to JFK terminal 2 arriving 19.38 with Delta (40% on time flight!?) then she has to make her way to terminal 4 for a Virgin flight departing at 21.30. With the short layover, terminal change and notoriously late regional Delta partner this is a unlikely connection right. Btw, I didn't book this, her mother in England did:(

On 10/20 : Delta Flight 1288 connecting with flight 5996 with only 38 minutes, is it doable?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Both flights should be on Concourse A.

Hi - arriving from Heathrow on KLM at 11:50am connecting to Delta flight at 2:10pm to Sacramento. Americans all on one ticket. Is this enough time please? thanks

KLM does not fly Heathrow-LAX, Delta doesn't operate it either? What airline are you flying? Or are you connecting in AMS on your way to LAX?

I will land via emirates T5 at 3.35 p.m. After go thru customs I have to connect UA TO Milwaukee at T1 for 6.25 p.m. Do I hv enough time? After customs, do I hv to drag my bags on to the ATS to T1 or is there a UA bag drop off area after customs?

If you purchased tickets together your bags should be tagged through to MKE in your origin and you will be able to use the re-check desk in T5. However, if you purchased separate tickets, you will have to drag them on the ATS to T1 and pay a checked bag fee. Also, most Milwaukee flights leave from T2, so be sure to check the monitors. if you are able to re-check your bags in T5, then you can take the ATS directly to T2 if your departure gate starts with E or F.

I am flying from YYZ to Bordeaux via AMS. Do I clear in AMS or in Bordeaux

You will pass through Schengen Passport Control in AMS as you enter the Schengen pier of the terminal.

We are arriving FLL at 1:00 from Detroit on Delta (Concourse 2, D Terminal) and leave at 2:42 on Silver Air for Bahamas. Is this enough time as we will need to get checked bags then recheck them at new terminal? I think Silver Air leaves from Concourse C in Terminal 1?

It should be enough time but it doesn't leave much time to spare in case of delays.

I just checked with Silver Air and they do leave and arrive from gate C5 even on their flights to/from the Bahamas. We should be able to check bags all the way through to the Bahamas on the way there, so that will save us some time. It looks like we will have to get our checked bags then go through customs on our way home, but we have over 2 hours between flights then. I'm assuming we will have to get a cart and bring the bags over to Terminal 2 to check in for flight home on Delta. We have never traveled internationally from FLL...kind of confusing! Thanks for your reply.

Hello, im after some advance, on the 29th Nov i fly from London to Fort Myers and have a layover in Atlanta for 4 hrs and 45 mins. I land at 14.20 and im thinking of buying an additional flight so i don't have to wait around as long but the only earlier flight is 3.30pm and i dont know whether this would allow me enough time to get through customs, collect my luggage then head to departures and re check in as i wont be getting on my actual connecting flight. Your help and advance would be appreicated. Klara

70 minutes is probably too short to make comfortably.

Flying with Delta from YUL to JFK. Arriving at 8 at T2. Departing with Delta at 9.25 at T4 from JFK to MEX. Do i have enough Time between 2 flights ? Do i have to go to US customs ?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Montreal. your arrival into JFK will be like a domestic flight. Yes, you should have plenty of time. A Delta shuttle bus connects T2 and T4 inside security.

Hi, I arrive from Australia on VA7 arriving at 6:30am, I need to book a connecting flight to Las Vegas and am just wonder how long I should plan to get through customs and pick up baggage. I assume that a 12:15 flight should do it. I could also catch a 9:30am flight, which I assume is too early. Many thanks.

The 9:30 AM flight should be fine.

I am traveling from Cincinnati to New Delhi through Qatar airlines and have only 1 hour 10 min layover time.Do I have to go through securities for boarding international flight.do I have to change terminals?.Is this much time sufficient?

If your Cincinnati -> Chicago flight is on American/American Eagle then you do not have to change terminals or go through security. Qatar Airways leaves from Concourse L of Terminal 3. You should have enough time.

Arriving from Budapest (via London) in PHL, then connecting to a Denver flight. Assuming I will have to go through customs in PHL then recheck bag (?). And how long do I need to get from Terminal A to E (I think it's E; it's a Southwest flight to Denver). Thanks for the input/info

If you're flying Southwest to Denver then you cannot drop your bag at the re-check desk after clearing customs. You will have to take it with you to Terminal E to the Southwest check-in counter. Southwest does not have Interline agreements with any other airlines. You need at least 2 hours for your transfer, preferably 2.5 hours.

Hi - we fly Kuwait Airline LON to JFK then on to GYE, Ecuador - we have 3 hrs 25 min between flights if all goes well…will we have to recheck our bags - it is all on one ticket, but sep airlines - Kuwait then LAN. I am traveling with 4 young children and a ton of luggage so am trying to plan ahead!

You will have to claim your baggage to go through US Customs. if your bags are tagged through to GYE then you can immediately re-check them after US Customs, however if they are not, you will have to take them with you on the AirTrain to Terminal 8 and to the LAN ticket counter to re-check. You should have enough time.

Thank you, help is much appreciated - is there any way to get help with the bags as I will have 9 very big bags going through.

There are usually baggage carts to use in Customs, but you can't take them on the AirTrain if you have to take your bags there.
