  • TLV to MIA through FRA

Is a 2 hour connection time enough? Both flights are LH. My flight from TLV lands at 8:30 and the MIA flight leaves at 10:35 to MIA. No idea what gates these are.

That should be plenty of time as well. Since you will not be entering the Schengen area you won't have to go through passport control, just security.

  • Domestic to International (TLV) 2h 30m connection time

I am flying from Miami to Tel Aviv through Newark this May. Both flights are United. The Miami flight arrives at 2pm and the TLV flight leaves at 4:30pm. Should that be enough time? Am I supposed to pick up the luggage and clear security again?

That will be plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Both gates will be in Terminal C.

    Thank you! :)

We are flying MEM-MIA-SJO next week. Only have a 45 minute connecting time for MIA-SJO and now I'm worried that we are starting our family trip off on a scary note. I just called and it seems that arrival and departure are different terminals :( First leg is American Eagle and second is AA. Is this going to be a nightmare situation?

All AA gates at Miami are connected inside security. All you have to do in Miami is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If your flight from Memphis is on-time you'll have enough time.

  • 3 hours 30 minutes to transfer

Hey, I will be flying to JFK from DXB on Etihad and then switching to American Airlines to fly to Boston. I'm not a US citizen or resident. I'll have 3 and a half hours to get through immigration, security, luggage, customs, switch to T8 from T4 and check in, will that be enough?

Yes, that should be enough time.

Also, be aware that Etihad flies from AUH (Abu Dhabi). Emirates flies from Dubai (DXB). However, both airlines use Terminal 4.

We're flying from RDU to IAD and have 1:05 hr before the flight to Geneva leaves. Is that enough time, do we stay in the same terminal?

IAD only has one terminal and all gates are connected inside security. You will depart from the C/D concourse and could arrive in C/D or A. If you arrive in A, you can take the Aerotrain or mobile lounge to your departure concourse. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Enough time to catch flight?

We are scheduled to arrive at LAX at 3:27pm on United Express. We leave at 5:05 pm on Lufthansa. They are on one ticket. Is there time to make the connection?

That should be enough time. Your bags will be transferred for you. You just have to walk from T8 where you will arrive to the International Terminal and go through security.

I'm looking to book a flight from Austin to Edinburgh through United. The flight I'm looking at has a 48 minute window in EWR to change plans & make the international flight, is that enough time??

Your flight from Austin may arrive in either Terminal A or Terminal C. You will depart from Terminal C. If your first flight is on-time and arrives in Terminal C you probably would have enough time. If you arrive in Terminal A it will be difficult as you have to take a shuttle (which is slow but doesn't require going through security) or the AirTrain, which is fast but runs outside security, to Terminal C. It's somewhat risky.

  • JFK->MIA->LIberia,CR

Hi I am flying in from JFK to Liberia, CR with a 1hr33min layover in Miami. Is this enough time for a connection? Since the connecting flight will be international, I am worried it will be in a different terminal and there will not be enough time to transfer bags. Using American Airlines.

All American flights at MIA are in the same terminal and connected inside security. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Miami on your way to Costa Rica.

  • Terminal C to B

I just flew into Terminal C on US Airways on 3/30 and needed to connect for American at Terminal B. There IS a shuttle within the secured area that transfers all American and US Airways passengers. I find it extremely odd that this is quite unknown, and even American agents don't know when you call them.

    Thanks

  • NRT to DFW to AGU

On 4/12 I am arriving from NRT at 4:40 pm on AA and connecting to go to AGU on US Air at 6:35 pm. Both are international flights in Terminal D. I don't think I can check into USAir flight in Japan. Should that be enough time? The AA flight is usually early. Thanks

Both flights will be on AA. Yes, assuming you purchased the tickets together you will be checked into both flights in Japan and your bags will be tagged through to AGU. You will not have to claim your bags because you are on an international to international connection. You will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security though. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • DC to Montreal - 43 Minute connection

I am flying into IAD and arrive at 4:22 PM. I have 43 minutes to catch my flight to Montreal, which departs at 5:05 PM. I am doing carry-on only. Will I have enough time to make my flight to Montreal?

If your first flight is domestic, it's doable, but difficult. All gates at IAD are connected inside security.

My first flight is domestic, but when I get to IAD I'll be flying into Canada. Do you know if United is all in one terminal?

IAD only has one Terminal. All gates are connected inside security.

I'm flying Toronto to Dubai, via Dulles with a 58 minute layover to change planes in Dulles. Is that enough time to make the connection? What happens if the flight from Toronto is delayed? I am stressed about not making it back to work on time.

all the flights are on United

That is enough time if the first flight is on-time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. If you miss your flight you will be put on the flight to Dubai the next day. There are no other flights out that night to that part of the world.

  • Confused by AS baggage policy
    Mar 30, 2015

AS phone agent said it is possible to thru check my baggage from YVR to SFO but the web policy does not agree. I have separate bookings travelling AS 2033 YVR - SEA and then AS 308 SEA - SFO Thu 7 May. Connection time 75mins. Do you know if bags are transhipped and if not is 75mins enough time to collect bags and recheck.

Since both flights are on AS the agent in Vancouver should be able to handle joining the two bookings and checking your bags through to SFO. Even if they are not, 75 mins is probably sufficient time to claim and re-check your bags.

    Thanks ZAP.

  • Global Entry

I am looking at a United flight itinerary from Costa RIca, connecting through IAH to IAD. The connection is 1 hour 56 minutes, and we will have luggage checked. Is this enough time to clear customs and recheck luggage? Would a Global Entry card get us through faster? We are US citizens.

Yes, that should be enough time, and yes, Global Entry would help to some extent.

I am arriving at DTW from Seoul, before connecting to a domestic flight to Boston. Is a 1hr50min connection enough time to go through US immigration and take my bags through customs before the next flight?

Yes, that should be enough time.
