  • 1hour and 30min layover time

Hi - I am flying from Hong Kong - Las Vegas. I am wondering if 1hour and 30min is enough time taking the whole recheck-in in consideration? FYI it is UNITED both ways. On the way to Vegas I'll be in SFO from 8.30am-10am and return flight from 11.55am-13.25pm. Will I have enough time? Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. On your way to Las Vegas, in SFO you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags with United, then go through security and to your departure gate. On you way back to Hong Kong, all you have to do in SFO is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is a walkway connecting Terminal 3 where you will likely arrive and the G concourse of the International Terminal where you will depart.

Thank you so much, this is super helpful. Have a great day!

  • Connection from Atlanta to Chicago

Hi! I will be flying out of Mobile,AL and landing in Atlanta,GA with a 45 minute layover until my next flight to Chicago. Do you think that will be enough time to catch my flight and will they make my connection flight in the same concourse as my flight that lands from Mobile?

Yes, that should be enough time. Your flights will likely be on different concourses but there is a chance they will be on the same concourse. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

HI, I am flying from YUL to CLT thru IAD... and i only have a 46 min connection... will I make it? what is the process?

All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you arrive in concourse A and depart from Concourse C or D, A is connected to C and D by the mobile lounge and aerotrain. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal.

Thank you! how long before our flight in YUL.. do you recommend to get to airport.. since we clear immigration & customs in canada

    Probably 90 minutes

Do they arrive & depart from the same terminal?

Yes, all Domestic American flights arrive in T3 and all American Eagle flights depart from T3.

Flying from Rome to US with 90 min layover at AMSTERDAM. What is the process for baggage, passport etc... Thanks!

All you have to do in Amsterdam is go through schengen exit passport control and then go through security at your departure gate. You don't have to do anything with your baggage.

  • Terminal 1 to Terminal International

Hi there, Coming in on a flight from MSP next month and into Terminal 1. My flight to PSP leaves from the International Terminal. I only have an hour in between. Flights all booked via Alaska Air, but MSP to SFO flight is on Delta, and SFO to PSP flight is Alaska Air. Fastest way from T1 to TI...walk or train? And, do I have to go thru Security again ? Thanks very much.

It's probably slightly faster to take the train. Yes, you will have to go through security again in the International Terminal.

    Thanks for your response!

  • International flight to domestic flight - 1 h 39 min layover

Hello, My KLM flight from Amsterdam will arrive at ATL at terminal F on a Friday evening at 8:20 pm. I need to get my connecting flight at 11:59 pm to Miami from terminal B operarting by Delta. I have 1 h 39 min layover time and I have NO checked luggage. How much time will I need to get from terminal F to terminal B and what is the best and fastest way to get from terminal F to terminal B. Since this is the last connection flight to Miami that day, I really do not want to miss it. Thanks for your help!

B is a concourse, not a terminal. After you go through US Immigration you will then go through US Customs, then follow the signs for connecting passengers, you will go through security, then take the Plane Train to your departure concourse (check monitors for your departure concourse, it can change). Immigration lines should be short that late in the evening and getting to your departure concourse should take less than 10 minutes.

Sorry, the flight to Miami is leaving at 9:59 pm instead of 11:59 pm from Atlanta. Is there still enough time to get that flight? 1 h 39 min layover time. Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time.

Will be flying into JFK on 02 Jan from Brussels. Have 97 minutes to make a connecting flight to Tampa. All flights are Delta. Is this enough time or will I be pushing it. My only other option is a 5+ hour layover at JFK before the next flight to Tampa. Would prefer not to do that. Thanks.

    1. Upon arrival at JFK at Terminal 4 (T4), you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. 2. Your connecting Delta flight will be Terminal 2 - Delta's domestic terminal - tel. 800-221-1212 (Delta International - tel. 800-241-4141). 3. While Delta shuttles run between gate C60 at T2 & gate B23 at T4 (a 2 min transfer time) - this may only apply to domestic arrivals - do check with Delta). If Delta shuttle does not apply, you would need to take the 'Airline Terminal Train' (follow signs) running continuously between terminals, to the next stop, which is T2 - but would need to go through security check there before proceeding to your gate. (By mid-2015 there will be a connector between the two terminals.) Either way, you should be able to make your transfer in time.

  • T4-TBIT and lounges

We are flying into T4 on AA. Arrive around 6:45pm. Our TN flight leaves at 10:40 from TBIT. My tickets were purchased separately so I assume not ability to connect the PNRs and get the bags checked all the way (dfw-ppt). Is that correct? I'm an admirals club member but that doesn't help with the one world lounge in TBIT, correct? We are fly TN business class so we have access to their shared lounge in TBIT, however I hear that isn't very nice. Is there anyway to go to TBIT and complete the bag check / boarding pass and go back to the admirals club. Is it even worth it, if that was possible.

No, it's not really worth it. Just use the TN club. The TN check-in counter doesn't even open until 8ish anyways, so there's no point in trying to go elsewhere.,

  • transit gates H to D in Terminal 3

I am travelling standby with Air Canada from Rome to Toronto. If I don't get on the Air Canada flight I will travel with British Airways to London Heathrow. Both airlines depart from Terminal 3. Is it possible to get from the H gates to the D gates without going through security and passport control for a second time?

Made a mistake BA departs in Terminal 3. Is Terminal 3 gates G and H? If so is it possible to walk from one to the other without going through security and passport control again?

Yes, you should be able to.

  • PIT to IAH to LIR with only 50 min in IAH

Hi, We are looking for some guidance on connecting in Houston. We depart Pittsburgh at 6.00AM and arrive to IAH at 8.06AM ... We depart for LIR at 8.55AM. We fly United on both flights. 1. What terminal would we arrive to? 2. What terminal would be depart from? 3. Is 49 min to make our connecting flight? Thank you for your help. Eva

You will arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E. Terminals C and E are directly connected to each other. Yes, 49 minutes is enough time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Thank you for your help!

  • transfer flight from Anchorage, AK to Asiana Airlines

Will be arriving on Oct. 26 at 2 a.m. via Alaska Air from Anchorage, Alaska. From baggage claim area, how can we proceed to International Departure? My son will be taking Asiana Airline & I will be taking Korean Airlines. Thank you for your assistance

Alaska airlines has interline agreements with both those airlines, so you can ask the Alaska agent in Anchorage if they can check your bag through to your destination. If he or she can, then all you will have to do in SFO is to get your boarding passes and go to your departure gate. If you cannot, you will arrive in the same terminal as your departure (the international terminal, so you will just have to go upstairs to check your bags).

  • 1hr 35mins transit time sufficient?
    Oct 18, 2014

Hi there, i am planning to fly in to San Francisco from Seoul on Asiana and will be touching down at 1220 but my next connecting domestic flight with United Airline will be taking off at 1355 which means i have only a 1hr 35mins transit time. I would like to hear from frequent travellers if it will be even possible to go thru all the procedures and make it to the flight. I am travelling with my wife and 2 kids aged 3 and 4 years old respectively. Luggage count will be 8 checked-in in total. Both me and my wife will be holding A2 visa, will that help to expedite the process? If i have no choice but to stick to this plan, can anyone advise me what can i do to speed up the whole process? Eg will informing San Fran staff for help be useful?

You should have enough time. There is nothing you can do to speed up the process other than to sit as far towards the front of the plane as possible and moving as quickly as you can.
