Is it true Terminal F does not have a TSA Pre-Check? Are there any tips concerning getting through security more quickly?

Terminal F does not have security checkpoints at all. You access it via a shuttle bus from the other terminals.

  • Jan flight from Israel need to connect to flight to SFO

I'm arriving on Jan 19 2015 from Israel - am a US citizen, need to catch a flight to SFO. How much time should I allow for customs, baggage pickup, and getting to the domestic terminal so I won't miss my next flight

What airlines are you flying? Will you be purchasing tickets separately or together?

Flying in on Aeroflot, need to buy separate ticket to OAK. I need to know how much time to allow myself between arrival and departure

Since you are buying separate tickets I would budget at least 2.5 hours between flights.

Arrive from Costa Rica on United UA1517 at 7:38pm and depart for San Francisco on UA1178. It has 1 hour 27 min for transfer. Is that enough time? Thank you.

That is slightly below the minimum connection time but you should be OK. If you do miss your connection United operates many IAH-SFO flights but I don't know if there will be one later than the 9PM flight you're already booked on.

Do you know the terminals? Thank you!

You will arrive in E and depart from C.

Flying to Dubai from Philly international Delta airlines. Do we board as domestic fliers from philly and at ATL get our baggage, re-check our baggage at the delta counter and go through TSA security or we skip the baggage part (will get it at Dubai) and go through TSA security with our carry ons??

You will not even have to go through security. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All concourses are connected inside security by the Plane Train. You do not have to go through US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US.

  • Toronto to Kuala Lumpur via PHL

Hi, My stopover in PHL is 2h on the way to KL and 1h 36m on the way back to Toronto. I'd like to know if I would need to re-check my bags in PHL on the way to AND way back from KL? If so, is the transit time sufficient to do this? Thanks Kevin

You do not have to claim and re-check your bags on the way to Kuala Lumpur as you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. On the way back however, you will, assuming PHL is your entry point to the United States.

I have check in baggage and I need to go from one of the domestic terminals to international to catch emirates flight. Are trolly's allowed?

No trolleys are not allowed on the ATS train. If you have more baggage than you can carry, buy a small foldable luggage cart.

We will arrive with UA59 from AMS at 13.45 and our connection to SFO will leave at 15.28 UA404. UA shortened our connection with 20 minutes. Makes me a little nervous, I would hate missing our flight to SFO. Which terminal will we arrive and depart? How do we travel between these terminals?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal C, which is directly connected to E. Upon arrival you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags with United, then go through security.

  • Less than one hour connection time to an international flight in ORD

Hi, I am lending at 4:33PM in ORD, and my connection flight is at 5:35 to Paris. Do you think I can make it? i need to go through immigration and customs in that short period of time. i am flying american airline for both flight but I need to pick up my luggage and drop it again before going through customs... thank you for your help. MArie

Where is your first flight from? You do not have to go through US Immigration and Customs or claim and re-check your baggage when leaving the US. If your first flight is domestic or from a place in Canada with preclearance all you have to do in ORD is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I am flying out of Atlanta, that shoud be fine then. Thank you very much

I will be traveling from SFO on United Airlines (Most likely will land on terminal D ) and have only 2 hours to catch another international flight on Saudi Airlines ( which will probably depart from terminal A). Is that enough time? if yes, would you please describe the steps? I will be traveling light with no checked bags, hopefully this will help. Thank you very much

A and D aren't terminals - they are concourses. If you already have your Saudi boarding pass all you have to do is take the AeroTrain or Mobile Lounge from concourse C/D to concourse A. If you don't already have your boarding pass you will take the AeroTrain or Mobile Lounge to the main terminal, exit security, go up to the check-in level, and check in with Saudi, then go through security and take the AeroTrain to concourse A.

Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately, I wont be able to print out the boarding pass for the international flight, I will have to get it from the check-in counter. Does 2-hours connection time seem sufficient to complete the latter procedure you described above? or you would consider it risky? Thanks again for your kind help.

Hi . is 2 hours and 15 minutes enough time to alight a Cancun flight in LAX, go through customs get checked luggage at LAX, then check into a EVA Air international flight and get on said flight at LAX??

No, that really isn't enough time if the tickets are purchased separately. If you are purchasing the tickets together it may be possible but very difficult. What airline would you be flying from Cancun?

I would be flying in from Cancun on DELTA. How about if I didn't have any checked luggage??

Im arriving to IAH at 19:40 from Istanbul, Turkey at terminal D and have a connecting flight to MSY from terminal B at 9:16. can i make it?

    i mean 20:16

Arriving at 19:40 terminal D from Turkey and going to New Orleans from terminal D(united) at 21:16. can i make the flight to MSY?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Your flight to New Orleans will actually operate from Terminal B or C. However, all terminals are connected inside security by the TerminaLink train.

  • American Airlines connections

I am considering a flight from Seattle to Phoenix which gives me a 44 minute layover to catch a connecting American Airlines flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. Is this enough time to make my connecting flight? Are American Airlines gates all in the same area and inside security so that we don't have to go through security again? Will this be enough time to get connecting flight?

Your flights will actually be operated by US Airways (assuming they haven't fully merged with American by the time of your flight). All US Airways gates at PHX are connected inside security. That should be enough time but doesn't leave much buffer for delays.

  • Enough connection time for an international flight?

Arrive from BDL on Delta. One hour layover. Then Delta to GCM. Is that enough time for this international connection?

Yes, on your way there you only have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US immigration when leaving the US.

Traveling USAir DIA to Venice through PHL. If checked bag in DIA, do I need to retrieve checked bag to go through customs again in PHL?

If DIA is Denver then you do not retrieve the bag or go through customs in Denver. There is no US Immigration/Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Philadelphia is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Changing Terminals with C1 Transit visa
    Sep 22, 2014
    1
Hello All, My wife is travelling Bangkok - Haiti, she has the C1 Transit visa already. However she will arrive with Emirates into Terminal 4, and will leave from a different terminal. How it is possible to change terminals with this visa? Thank you, James.

You show the visa to get through US Immigration. When she exits customs she will be outside security and free to go wherever she wants. They monitor visa compliance by checking to see if she boarded her onward flight to Haiti.
