  • Getting from terminal A to terminal B
    Feb 9, 2012

I am flying into SAC on Southwest airlines which is in terminal B and leaving from US Airways in terminal A an hour later... how do I get from terminal B to A?

Exit terminal B. Follow signs on the 3rd floor to the parking garage. Follow signs to terminal A. Go through security again. Total time including walking and security will be 20-45 minutes depending on your walking speed.

Firstly, SAC is the Sacramento Executive airport, SMF is Sacramento International. Southwest services SMF. My advice: Go to the parking garage from terminal B. Follow the signs to terminal A. Go from the 5th floor of the garage to the 3rd and use the pedestrian bridge.

I am flying into Chicago on United Express/Express Jet and flying out on United Express/Atlantilc southeast. Are these at the same terminal. Flying alone for the first time. Need a little help. Thank you

United & United Express domestic flights are from Terminal 2. The gateway splits in a Y formation between Concourses E & F (gates E1-144 and F1-14 - however gates F11A, B & C, are on the lower level. Check your ticket to see which gate you need. When arriving at ORD, look at the overhead screens - look under "Departures" and find your flight, gate & departure time. Transfer should not take more than 15 mins.

    Thanks a lot

I have to transfer from terminal C to terminal B with a 38 minute connection. Is that enough time?

You need to take the above-ground TerminaLink train, which runs between the terminals at post-security. Terminal C is divided into east & west gates (C14-24 & C29-45). When arriving, follow the TerminaLink sign. No time to waste....!

I am arriving into IAH at 8:20 PM to gate B76A and have a departing flight out of E8 at 9:00 PM on United/Continental. Will I have enough time between flights.

You Arrive at Terminal B and depart from Terminal E; on arrival follow signs to the above-ground TerminaLink train which runs between all terminals inside security. Gates E12-24 & E1-11 are on opposite sides.

  • transit between Terminals at LAX

I'm arriving at LAX from Melbourne, Australia on Qantas at ?Terminal 4, and have a 'tight' connection (100min) to get a United Airlines flight to SFO ?departing from Terminal 8. I'll be travelling with carry-on luggage only, have to get through customs/security ... what is the most efficient way/transport to get between theses terminals on an early weekday morning?? Many thanks!

As an international arrival you need to go through passport inspection, and you can zip through customs (as you don't need to get your bags and re-check them in). However, you need to exit Terminal 4 (Qantas terminal) and catch the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Your next stops will be Terminals 5, 6, 7, then 8 - 4 stops, about 10 minutes. At Terminal 8 you need to go through customs and on to your gates. T8 has gates 80-88. You have enough time.

what is the fastest way to go from terminal 4 to tom bradley international?

If you are flying Qantas, there is a special shuttle that will take you directly from Terminal 4 to the Tom Bradley Intl Terminal. Otherwise, you can simply walk there... exit terminal 4 and turn left, walk around a curved sidewalk and the next terminal is TBIT. Unfortunately, you will be requred to go through the security line again.

I'm arriving on UA547 from Toronto Canada to ORD (Chicago O-Hare) and transferring to an ANA flight to Tokyo. Does anyone know if UA547 lands in the same terminal as Terminal 1 (where ANA flight departs) - I'm getting conflicting information. If UA547 lands in Terminal 3 -how do I get from Terminal 3 to 1 quickly? Thanks

    1. International arrivals by United are in Terminal 5 - however, ANA departure flights are from Terminal 1. 2. You will go through U.S. customs pre-clearance at Toronto. At T5's ATS level you catch the ATS shuttle train running every few minutes - last stop is T1.

what terminal should I wait for my wife arriving 14 Dec 2011/Wed Korean Airline Flight JE 0011

International arrivals will be processed at the International Arrivals building (part of Terminal E) Arriving passengers go through customs & take the escalator down to Baggage Claim Level 1. From there they go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area, and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby. This area also has an escalator down to the train train, Terminals A, B & C and the tunnel to Terminal D, the International Arrivals Lobby & Passenger Greeting Area and the exits.

fly from Cancun back to London transit at Huston. I have only 1hr to transit and was told by the airline that I dont need to clear the custom at Huston. Is this true and would 1hr be enough

Unless Mexico has a special arrangement with the US, or Cancun has a U.S. Customs clearance there, you need to go through passport check, pick up luggage, go through customs clearance & re-check-in your bags before moving on to your London flight. Also you may need to take the above-ground TerminaLink train (stopping in the secured areas of the terminals) if you need to transfer to another terminal. Look at your ticket to see what gate you arrive at & depart from: Terminal A (TA) has gates A1-30; TB gates B60-66; TC gates C14-45; TD gates D1-3 with a connector to C14-24) and D4-12; TE has gates E1-24. If you arrive at gates C29-45 & need to transfer to TE: walk towards gates C14-24 & proceed on to TE.

  • Transfer to International Flight

I plan to arrive on a domestic flight from BWI via Airtran and then transfer to an International flight on JetBlue to STT. The time of this layover is 1h25mn. Do you think this is enough time? Also, how long will it take to walk between the arrival gate and my departure gate? Will I need to go through security again (not checking any bags)? I assume I will pass through passport control correct? I also plan to check in online beforehand.

Both AirTran and JetBlue are in the same Terminal C, which has gates C11-20, C25-36 & C40-42. Only international arrivals go through passport/customs control. You have plenty of time, a you only transfer between gates.

Thank you very much. This is very helpful

Arriving on American Airlines from London Heathrow. I have 1 hour and 30 min. to go through passport control then depart on American Airlines to Killeen, TX What terminals will I arrive and leave from, will there be time to connect?

As an international arrival you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Count on 30-45 minutes for this procedure. You need to look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive at/depart from. American uses the A,& C gates; American Eagle uses the B gates (i.e., B9, A13, C27). The Skylink train starts at Terminal D to TC, TB & TA, runs every 2 minutes and takes about five minutes.

I am flying in from Mexico in March and connecting to an AirTran flight. Can I make the connecting flight in 1hour from the new International airport?

    1. AirTran departs from the North Terminal. You need to look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive at and depart from (The North terminal has gates T1-15, A1-34, B1-36, C1-57, D1-46 & E1-37. If you arrive at the South Terminal, you would have to transfer over to the North Terminal (flanked on either side of Main Terminal are North & South Terminals. The Automated People Mover train runs between the A through E concourses, in the center of their gates. 2. As an international arrival, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Note, however, that you may not be able to re-check-in your bag if you travel on more than one ticket issued by non-participating airlines, in which case you need to take your bag to your connecting terminal and check it in there. Count on this procedure to take 30-45 mins.

Got a 2 hour layover at SFO, terminal 2. Any suggestions for a late lunch or early dinner?

Try Andales. Pretty good mexican, and right near all the main gates.

I am flying from Vancouver (would have gone through U.S. Custom in Vancouver) arriving at terminal 1 at 14:31 and have to transfer to terminal 3 to fly to Santa Barbara. Flight leaves at 15:48. Is one hour 17 minutes adequate, giving allowance for arrival delay of say 15 minutes, air train ride time, security check again at Terminal 3? If not, what is the minimum time I should allow myself so that I can make the connection?

I'm leaving from SD to HOU Terminal C & have a connecting flight to fly to Mexico. Terminal E. I have a 35 min layover, is that enough time to go through customs & catch my flight??

You have no time to waste! On arrival at TC take the above-ground TerminaLink train which connects to TE inside security. However, make sure you have the right terminal - Terminal E is exclusively for Continental - is that the airline you are using to Mexico - if not, AroMexico and VivaAerobus depart from Terminal D. Look at your ticket to see which gate you need (i.e., E1 to E24 or D1 to D12).

I am taking Continental. I am not sure which number it is, but I am sure it is TE. Do you think I can have security help me out? Do I have to go through customs?
