  • Do I need to collect my luggage in Washington on outgoing journey?

Connecting flights LHR to Tyson Mcghee via Dulles IAD. Please could you tell me if I have to collect my luggage at Washington on my outward flight and recheck it in again before I get on the plane to Knoxville or will my baggage go straight from London to Knoxville? I have phoned the airlines and have been told two different things! I was emailed that there had been a response but I cannot find it! Please could you reply directly to this thread - am flying with united airlines (outward flight star alliance with lufthansa )

looking at a flight SEA to Venice, Italy. Flight has two connections: Dulles IAD layover 1h 50m. Second is Brussels BRU--that one looks good at 2h 25m. Not sure about the IAD, however. United minimum is 90 min. but know that can be tight at Dulles. Does the 1h50m connection sound okay. Flying on US passport

Our flight is United from Vancouver to EWR connecting to Richmond with a 55 minute connection time at EWR. Do we have enough time to connect

That should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. You will arrive in Terminal C and may depart from Terminal A. United runs a shuttle bus inside security if you need to go to Terminal A.

will i make a United Express connection departing 4:49 PM when my first flight on Virgin America lands at 4:30 PM? both terminal A

NO! Don't book that. Even if it might be possible under the best circumstances it's highly unlikely you'll make it. With checked bags, zero chance.

  • Process of transfer from international flight to domestic flight.
    Apr 26, 2015

I am British flying from UK on BA to San antonio via Dallas. I have 90 minutes to transfer. The domestic flight ( although BA Booked) transfers to AA from Dallas to San Antonio. I have never done a flight transfer before and unable to find info on the process despite emailing Dallas airport twice. Please can you advise me of the process of what I need to do when I arrive at Dallas. I am confused as to whether I have to collect my baggage or whether it is transferred automatically. Do I go through passport control and customs. Which do I do first. Thanks

On the way to San Antonio, when you arrive in Dallas Terminal D, you will go through US Immigration (passport control), claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate, which will likely be in another terminal. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • 45 min transfer possible or not

if I am flying in from Heathrow to LAX is 45 mins enough time to transfer to flught to vegad

NO!!!!! You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, possibly change terminals, and go through security in LAX. You need at least 90 minutes if booking your tickets on one reservation and 2-2.5 hours if booking two separate reservations.

  • [sea to lhr through ord] 60 mins enough?

My flight is with United Airlines from Seattle to Heathrow with a connection in Chicago. The flight is set to arrive at 5.20pm (I don't know which terminal) and the next one departs at 6.20pm from Terminal 1. Is this enough time to make it? Will have to recheck baggage? What happens if there's a delay on their end and I miss the flight?

If your first flight is on United it will also arrive in Terminal 1. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time. If you miss your flight because your first flight is late, you will be rebooked on the next flight. There is a 9 PM flight to Heathrow.

Yes, the first flight is with United as well. Thank you for replying. It was the only flight available to me and I was kind of panicking.

  • Connection time from Vancouver to Germany via. Seattle

Hello, I have a connection time of 1h22min in Seattle after arriving from Vancouver, BC, Canada with Air Canada, then departing with Lufthansa German Airlines to Frankfurt, Germany, booked from United Airlines. I would like to know if this is a formidable connection time. Thanks a lot for the help.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate in concourse A to your departure gate in the S Satellite via the underground train. You should have plenty of time.

American Airlines from Montreal to Cancun with connection in JFK, both flights connects in JFK T8-C. I have 1h15 to do the connection, Im I going to make it or lost my second flight?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in JFK is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have plenty of time. Even if your first flight is late and you miss your connection you don't "lose" your second flight, you are rebooked on the next available flight.

  • Terminal connection between T8 to T7 (ORD-JFK-LHR)
    Apr 26, 2015

Hi, I will go to London at Jun 13. But I have no idea connection information in JFK's terminals. I think I approximately have 2h 05min for connection, and my tickets are separate. Is that sufficient for boarding at T8?

Yes, if your tickets were purchased together on one reservation that should be plenty of time. All you have to do is take the AirTrain from T8 to T7 and go through security.

    Thank you so much

  • Do I have enough time for this connection?

I am arriving at SFO from Auckland, NZ and have exactly three hours to make my connecting flight to Washington DC. Arriving on Air New Zealand, connecting to Virgin America. I have never been to SFO before, and am concerned about the time it takes to get through customs, retrieve baggage and then make it to check in with Virgin America. Can anyone give me an idea of the flow coming off an international flight, and perhaps the quickest way to get to Virgin's terminal, or any other tips/tricks for making this a smooth process? Thanks!

You will arrive in the international terminal , go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then take the AirTrain to Terminal 2, check your bags with Virgin America and go through security. You should have enough time.

I arrive at terminal 6 and must connect to another airline in terminal 1, 1 hour later. If I have only carry on luggage, and walk from 6 to 1, do I have enough time to make my connecting flight?

Barely, assuming your first flight is online and you check in online for your southwest flight before you leave on your first flight.

I am traveling from OAK-SEA-PEK, with alaska and hainan airlines. I found that alaska airlines is at north gate and hainan is at south gate. How much time do I need to transfer and do I need to claim my checked bag?

You need about 45 minutes to an hour. No, if you purchased your tickets together you don't have to claim your bag.
