I am flying on a United ticket that is for a US Airways plane. Do I go to Terminal 2 or Terminal 4 when I leave?

I will be flying in on ExpressJet Airlines Friday and have a connecting flight with Canada Air in 33 minutes. Is that enough time to catch the connecting flight?

  • Curb side pick up still ok?

My husband used to wait for me at the curb, after arriving from Chicago on United. Can we still use curbs side pick up and has United moved to Term A?

No longer - but he has 2 choices: either use the parking garages and meet you the baggage claim area; OR use the free Cell Phone Lot (for up to 3 hours) located off Crossfield & Lindbergh Drive--stay with your car until you collected luggage and call him to be picked up at the curb.

The previous comment is totally wrong, maybe thinking of STL? At SMF you can do curbside pickup.

Picking up 12 yr old grand daughter S.W. How can I meet her at the gate. Or is there a better alternative?

How long is it from A4 to exit where we can get rental car. Is there any diaper chaging room in CLT? Thanks in advance

On arrival just follow signs to "Arrivals", which is also the level where you find the rental car counters, information desk and rest rooms. Most airports now have baby-changing facilities inside their restrooms.

Hi, I am taking a flight on United from Chicago to LAX. How far will the connecting gate be from me when the plane lands? Thanks, Rick

United uses Terminals 6, 7 & 8; of which T7 & T8 are served by United Express. Look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive/depart from at LAX: T6 has gates 60-69; T7 7-77; T8 80-88. Terminals 6 & 7 are connected by tunnel, while T7 has a walkway to T8. You can also take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island (in front of each terminal), under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins.

Question - we'll be flying into IAH from Pensacola on flight AC3209 (dont know the Continental codeshare #) arriving at 10:52am. I believe this is in Terminal B. We then need to make the flight to Toronto (AC 8110) leaving at 11:45am in Terminal A. I assume our luggage will check all the way through and we can take the train to Terminal A and not have to go thru security again. We clear customs in Toronto.. but should this be enough time to get to the flight? Thanks.

You will arrive at Terminal B & depart from Terminal A. Take the above-ground TerminaLink train which connects all terminals inside security and takes minutes. TA has gates A1-30; TB has gates 60-88. Check your ticket for gate number.

Is Air train indoors? or is it like a bus? do i wait in an indoor (heated) area and do I get out inside of a terminal? or do I need to bring a warm coat for NYC winter temperatures. (I am living in a warm climate and travelig to a warm climate, so normally I would not have a big coat)

The Airtrain is an elevated train, heated in winter, airconditioned in summer. However, getting when transferring to connecting subway - particularly the A train heading for downtown Manhattan (with uptown connections). You stand on an elevated subway station not far from the ocean - it can be very cold or very windy, or both! And non-rush hours have longer waits.

thanks for your specific description and information. very helpful

how long a walk is it from gate B5 to gate B28?

Use this flight search site : atlanta-airport.com/flights/Search.aspx?FIDSType=A

I am arriving in term C at 8:21 from PHL and departing to Cozumel at 9:00 a.m. from term E....will I have sufficient time to make it assuming no flight delays?

TC is divided into east and west gates and connects at gate area to TE. If arriving at gates C29-45, walk towards gates C14-24 and proceed straight on to Terminal E, which has gates E12-24 and E1-11 on opposite sides. Also check on arrival overhead screens for gate & departure time.

How do I get from terminal 5 ( Jet Blue) to terminal 4 to catch an international flight?

    1. All terminals are served by the AirTrain, which runs on average every 5 mins. It departs at T5 near gates 25 & 1 facing each other; from there take walkway to skywalk and AirTrain station; it arrives at T4 in the center of the arrivals level.

I'll be arriving at IAH at 4:35 pm on a Qatar Airways flight at terminal D and my next flight is at 7:30 pm with Continental at Terminal A. What would be the most efficient way to move between the terminals?

As an international arrivals, you will be processed in the International Arrivals building (part of Terminal E - follow signs), where you will go through customs & take the escalator down to Baggage Claim Level, where you pick up your bags 1. From there you go through Exit Control and enter to the right the baggage recheck area, and straight out arrive at the International Arrivals Lobby and the Exits. This area also has an escalator down to the underground train taking you to Terminal A, where you will have to go through security check again. No rush, you have plenty of time.

We are arriving from Halifax, NS (US Pre clearance) at 7:45am on United 5142 (operated by Continental). We need to get to United 1193 at 9:15 am (operated by Continental Airlines) to go to Orlando. Is this possible and do we switch Terminals? Please help...we are traveling with children!

You'll stay in the same terminal, so won't be an issue.

Most likely you will arrive & depart from Terminal C, the exclusive Continental terminal. It is possible that your flight to Orlando departs from Terminal A. Look at your ticket for your gate number, which should precede A or C (i.e., gate A10, gate 70. The C gates are arranged by three areas: (a) area C1 is a Y-shaped concourse with gates C7-75, C80-88 & C90-99 on each side; gate area C2 has gates C101A-115A-B (15 gates); gate area C3 has gates C12-130. Should you need to transfer to another terminal, use the frequent Airtrain on TC's upper level center, post-security, which arrives at Terminal A close to gateway A2.

arriving from Europe at Concorse C and departing later same Concorse. I have to immigrate before the next flight. Where is that between C2 and C 30 ?? Thanks

International arrivals need to need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Gates C30-17 are separate from gates C14-1 - reached by walkway - follow signs.

  • What to do

We will be arriving by Air Canada December 23rd to Terminal 2 ( I believe correct me if I'm wrong) at 11:30am and then leave on Quantas Air at Terminal 4 (based on your map) at 11:30pm. What are our options of things to do during that 12 hours. Can we leave the airport and go stay at a nearby hotel? Do we need to stay in the airport? If we leave the hotel, do we need to take our luggage?

    1. You may want to inquire at the information desk near the baggage claim as to options available (also make sure that Air Canada transfers your bags to Qantas airlines - not all airlines transfer. 2. Airport Ambassadors roaming the terminals may give you a good suggestion. 3. Shopping areas are located within a few miles/kilometers of LAX in the Westchester community, and several beach areas (including Venice Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach) are located approximately 5 to 7 miles (8 to 11 kilometers) south of the airport. Also, Dockweiler Beach is adjacent to LAX. If you want to visit one of these sites, you will need to use a taxi or other form of ground transportation. CAUTION: Traffic is notorious, particularly at Christmas time. Inquire first as to the maximum time from/to the Airport, then Depending on the length of your layover, you also may want to visit the Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau website (www.lacvb.com), which provides extensive information on things to do in various parts of Los Angeles. When making plans during a layover, however, please remember that traffic is sometimes congested around the airport. In Los Angeles, typical time of travel is a more important factor than actual distance between LAX and the place you are visiting. It is important to allow sufficient time to get back to LAX in time for your flight. Please ask an airline agent when the ticket counter recommends your return.

I'm stuck in Munich as I missed my connecting flight to Newark Liberty due to bad weather. We now leave tomorrow and arrive at 12.40pm so wanted to know which terminal we arrive at. Many thanks.

    1. As an international arrivals you need to first go through passport control, pick up your bags, and go through customs clearance. Your arrival terminal depends on the airline you use. EWR has Terminals TA, TB & TC with corresponding gates; Terminal A houses United, Terminal B is mainly for Delta and Terminal C is for Continental airlines. Look at your ticket to see which gate you arrive at (i.e., A1-, C, B-3).
