Arriving from Toronto Canada at term ORD . Our flight to Amsterdam departs 3 hours later at term 1, do we need to go through security and customs again? And how long will it take

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Chicago is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Delta Flight from SFO through LAX to Puerto Vallart

Question: We are travelling Delta from SFO with a layover in LAX then onto Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. Where do we go through customs? Do we need to grab our luggage in LAX, or does it go all the way through to Mexico for us?

On your way to Mexico you will go through Mexican Immigration and Customs when you get to Mexico. You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. You will not have to do anything with your baggage in LAX. On your way back, you will clear US Immigration and Customs in LAX. That is when you will have to claim your luggage to go through Customs then re-check it.

  • Connecting from Boston in Newark to Seattle
    Sep 16, 2014

Hi, I have a connecting flight from United in Boston to Seattle, WA through Newmark. The flight arrives at 8:30 and then the connection flight leaves at 9:20. Is this enough time? Where do I go to get the connection?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. Both flights will be in Terminal C. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

    Thank you!

One more question! What level of terminal C will I arrive on and which level will I have to go for my next gate? How long do you think it would take someone who walks briskly to get there?

Both flights will be on the same level. Your walk will take somewhere between 1 and 15 minutes, depending on the exact gates your flights are assigned.

  • 90 min Connection Paris-ATL- Houston

Have done this before but with 2.5 hours to connect from what used to be International Term-E to Terms-A/B ... 20 SEP am arriving on DL69 CDG-ATL at 12:05pm. at Term F..and after US Customs will need to go to DL1489 departing from Term T...Concerned that 90 mins be not be enough as a Min-Con., but I had no choice...last available seat.....May have extra traffic due to the Air France Strike whiplash...I will appreciate any feed back! Thanks!

It's above the minimum connection time. This is a pretty slow season. I think as long as the first flight is on-time you'll be OK.

  • Global Entry interview location
    Sep 16, 2014

I arrive from Tokyo at Terminal E at 13:45 and will have a boarding pass for a domestic flight out of Terminal C already in hand. I have a long layover and am wondering whether it is possible to do the Global Entry interview before going through immigration and re-checking my bags, or whether I have to do all that, go back through security, and then loop back from Terminal C to E. Any advice?

If the office is in the secure area, you will have to go through Immigration, customs, recheck, and security first. However you can go through security in Terminal E, go to the interview, and then go to C for your departing flight.

  • BWI to Cancun via PHL

Hi, we will be flying from Baltimore to Cancun with a connecting flight in PHL with US Airways. Our connecting time is 55min, which according to the airline will be fine. Just wondering if this will be enough time barring any delays. As I understand, we won't need to clear security again in PHL, just walk from gate to gate (I'm not sure which terminals are involved yet)?

Yes, you have the procedure correct. You will likely arrive in Terminal F, which will require taking a shuttle to Terminal A where your Cancun flight will depart.

  • Terminal 5 to 3 in one hour?

Arriving on usair at terminal 5. Need to checking and get a boarding pass from vueling in terminal 3. Will I have time?

You will not arrive in Terminal 5 - no flights arrive in Terminal 5. It is a departure only terminal. You will arrive in Terminal 3. However you will have to go through Immigration and customs. by the time you do this you will be past the check-in cutoff for Vueling. You need to get a later flight out of Rome.

Where will I arrive in Atlanta from Toronto, Canada and where do I get connecting flight to Charlotte, NC (flying Delta/ExpressJet) Do I need to clear customs again?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. Your arrival into Atlanta will be like a domestic flight. Delta uses every concourse at ATL and all gates are connected inside security by the Plane Train.

  • Wheelchair assistance from JetBlue Terminal to EL AL terminal

Mom is coming from PBI JetBlue to JFK EL AL. I understand that EL AL recently partnered with JetBlue for trips to Israel. I've notified both airlines that she will need a wheelchair. I will be meeting her at the EL AL Terminal. The question is: What is the process of the handovers to attendants on arrival to JFK, who will take her from the JetBlue Terminal to the EL AL terminal and will she be assisted during the process at Customs?

All airlines use contracted employees to handle the wheelchairs. Yes, she will be pushed to and through immigration and customs.

  • T4 International to T5 Jet Blue

Hi, trying to see if my time between connections is enough, this is for Dec 22nd. We are arriving in T4 Caribbean Airlines International flight at 5 am with our connection in T5 Jet Blue to BTV at 9 am. We have checked bags, so I am wondering is this sufficient time for our connection? And how do we get from T4 to T5?

Yes, that should be enough time. You get between T4 and T5 using the AirTrain.

Thanks, I thought so too, was advised by the travel agent they thought the time was too short. Just needed confirmation from someone that knows JFK. Thanks again

I am flying to Seattle from Sacramento on a Delta Connection flight and have one hour to get to a Delta international flight to Amsterdam. Is that enough time? Are both in the same terminal?

Seattle has only one terminal but six different gate areas. Delta does not fly from Sacramento to Seattle, so that flight is likely operated by Alaska Airlines. All gate areas are connected inside security by walkways and underground trains. 1 hour should be enough time.

  • Delta to International

We are arriving on a Delta commuter flight at 12:05 PM and have a 1:30 PM Tahiti Nui flight at the International Terminal. 1. Is that enough time? 2. Do we have to exit terminal 5 and go through security again or is there a walkway to the international terminal? It is either 1 1/2 hours or we have to get there like at 6 in the morning and sit until 1:30. Is 1 1/2 hours enough time? Thanks

Your Tahiti Nui flight will depart from the Tom Bradley International Terminal, NOT Terminal 1. You will have to go through security in The International Terminal AND get your Tahiti Nui boarding pass as Delta will not be able to issue it. If you are buying separate tickets you will have to go with the earlier flight - 85 minutes is not enough time to claim bags from Delta, take them to the TBIT, check them with Air Tahiti Nui, then get through security and to your gate.
