  • Several questions about Terminal E

We have connecting Southwest and Iceland Air flights in BOS on a Friday evening in March. And luckily, it looks like both arrive and leave the same terminal - E. We did not purchase our tickets together. So I imagine we have to pick up our luggage from baggage claim and recheck it? We have a 3 hour layover between flights. Should this be enough time to get our luggage, Iceland Air boarding passes and recheck our bags, make it through security and maybe grab a quick bite to eat?

Hi. I have two hours between my flight from london to o'hare. Is that enough time? Which terminals do virgin atlantic flights arrive and depart from? Please assist

Your Virgin Altantic flight will arrive in Concourse F, then you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse.

Hi this is Anna from Mexico, i have a question. I was wondering if a 3 hrs connection in between Newyork and Milano is possible.. Taking in consideration that im going from T2 to T4.. Do i also need to go through security checkpoint once i hit T4? Thanks in advance,

Are you flying from Mexico? If so you will have to go to through US Immigration and customs and security in New York and also both flights will be from Terminal 4 if flying Delta.

Thanks, yes flying from Mexico to New York, and yes flying by Delta.. and would it then be possible 3 hrs connection flight? Im asking cause of a previus experience with AA, almost missing flight due to security delays. Thanks!

Actually im arrving at T1 with Aeromexico ( Df-New York) then i be connectiong to T4 ( New York - Milano) , in a 3 hr connection flight

Yes, that should be enough time. You will take the airtrain from T1 to T4 after clearing customs and re-checking your bags at the Transfer desk in T1.

I am flying from Omaha to St. Lucia. Layover in Atlanta is only 45 minutes. Is that enough time to catch my next flight?

Yes, but it obviously doesn't leave much time to spare in case of a delay. All you have to do in Atlanta is take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to concourse E or F where your flight to St. Lucia will depart.

I have four students who will have 42 minutes to make a connection at O'Hare, coming from Houston and going to Winnipeg (Canada). Do we have enough time to go from T1 to T2? What would be the fastest way? Thanks in advance for your help!

There is a walkway in between terminals inside security, just follow the signs to the E/F gates, however, be sure to check the monitors or united.com first, many Winnipeg flights leave from Terminal 1 even though they are on United Express.

Thanks - our tickets currently say T2 for the second flight, but fingers crossed for the same terminal! Does anyone know the timing for that walk?

How do I get from Terminal C to B? Is it easy? Can I do it after I get baggage at C so that I can meet someone at B?

Yes, the Route A or Route B bus on the lower level curbfront will take you there, it is right outside baggage claim.

Hi I am arriving from DOH on QR at 3pm in Terminal 8. Will I have enough time to make it to an Air Canada flight to Toronto at 5pm in Terminal 7, Assuming my baggage will be checked in all the way.....? How long will the terminal transfer take? Thx

You will arrive in Terminal 8, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then take the AirTrain from T8 to T7, get your Air Canada boarding pass if you don't already have it, and go through security and to your departure gate. You barely have enough time if your QR flight is on-time.

  • Connecting time from Term. B to A

Hi, I´ll be travelling with United on March 19 ( a Thursday) from Berlin , Germany via Newark to Charleston, SC with my 6 year old. The flight times have just been changed so the connecting time will be only 1:35, including immigration and baggage. Arrival is Term. B, connecting flight Term. B. United says that should be enough time..I´m a bit sceptical. Should I run the risk or book a later flight to Charelston 6,5 hrs. later? Anybody with some good advice?

I think you have a good chance of making it. However, note that the flight from Berlin to Newark frequently makes a fuel stop and arrives several hours late during the winter. Because of that you might want to ask for the later flight, which they should give you because of the schedule change.

Thanks for the prompt reply! A fuel stop? I was under the impression it was a direct flight? How often does this happen? Yes, they would give me the later flight if I change my mind within the next 2 days, but they also said I could take the risk of missing the earlier flight and then change to the later flight if I don´t make it. It is really hard to decide at this point.

Hi! I'm planning on taking UA225 IAD-SFO which arrives at 10:00pm. And then UA1705 SFO-LAX which leaves at 10:32pm, would I have enough time to connect? I'd imagine all the United gates are pretty close to each other. I will be the first few to leave the aircraft. Thanks!

Yes, it is enough time, but you will have to hurry and if you miss it you'll be stuck in SFO overnight as I'm fairly sure that would be the last flight of the day to LAX.

I will need to collect my luggage and presume go through immigration/customs, will this be enough time to do this, collect luggage and check-in?? Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time.

  • Flying to IAD from Frankfurt

Hi, My sister is flying from Frankfurt to IAD tomorrow (flight 933, arrives in IAD at 8.10pm); she has a tourist visa and a bag that she will check in. Her next flight is IAD to San Francisco (flight 1235) that departs IAD at 9.50pm. Are there any tips for her to make it ok? As I understood from reading other posts, she will have to get her luggage and then check it in again? Her tickets were purchased together. Thanks so much! This forum is really helpful!

Yes, you have it correct, no specific tips. She will arrive in Terminal C/D and use the United facility there to clear Immigration and customs, so then she can go through security and right back into C/D when she's done. Here flight to SFO will also leave from C or D.
