  • Iceland Air to United connection one hour 40 mins
    Dec 17, 2014
I have a group of 10 on Iceland Air FI 631 arriving at 5:40 pm at terminal E and the group is booked to leave out of terminal B on United at 7:20 pm. Will the group be okay of the bags are not checked all the way?

It will be very very difficult to make your connection on-time. Especially considering that because you are in a group, you cannot check-in online for your United flight.

  • T5 to T1 connection time and baggage claim
    Dec 17, 2014
I and my mother are flying from Dusseldorf Germany to Columbus OH via ORD with United Airlines. Do i need to claim my baggage and rec-check it again or will be automatically transferred to the connecting flight which is as well United Airlines? and we have 2 hours waiting time is this enough from T5 to T1?

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk. Then look at the monitors, your flight to Columbus may leave from Terminal 1 (B or C gates) or Terminal 2 (E or F gates). Take the ATS train to your departure terminal, go through security, and to your departure gate. You have enough time.

I will by flying from Agadir to AMS by Transavia and connect next day to Houston USA. Do I need to pick up my luggage and go through Schengen Passport control and security ?

Yes, you do. Transavia will not transfer your bags to another airline unless you purchased the tickets together.

We would be flying in on Delta from Detroit to AMS. On seperate ticket will be flying to Berlin on Easy Jet. Will we have to get our luggage then recheck it? Is it in the same terminal?

Sorry, in my earlier post I assumed you were flying Delta/KLM on both segments. Since you purchased separate tickets, you will have to claim your baggage from Delta and re-check at EasyJet. 1 hr 10 minutes isn't enough time to do that. You need to find another way to Berlin.

Thank you! We were looking at two options. I think that we will stay on the same airlines. Don't want to have to pick up luggage then recheck. That flight did have 3 hours between flights. Wanted to make sure that KLM and Easy jet were in the same terminal.

Yes, Amsterdam only has one terminal.

  • Time between connections
    Dec 17, 2014
Will 1 hour and 10 mins be enough time. I will be flying in on delta to AMS and connecting to Berlin. Do we have to get our luggage?

Yes, you have plenty of time. You will go through Schengen Passport control and security when you enter the Schengen pier of the terminal. You do not have to do anything with your baggage.

    Thank you!

  • 43 minute connection time
    Dec 17, 2014
Booking a ticket on US Airways from SFO to Cancun with a 43 minute connection. That seems very tight to me, but since it's directly available on the US Airways website, who am I to argue? Never been to PHX, so no idea how big the terminals are and if international is separate, that sort of thing. Is that connection time too tight? Bags would be checked through to CUN, so it's just a matter of getting from one gate to the other.

All US Airways gates at PHX are in the same terminal. You just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. 43 mins is enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Transport from T3 to T5

Hi All , I need to go to T5 from T3 ,but i have couple of checked in baggage which i need to collect them at T3 baggage claim , after baggage collection , is there any shuttle from Terminal 3 - Terminal 5 near baggage claim ?

The ATS Train runs from T3 to T5. It is the only way between the terminals.

  • Toronto to Denver Connection 56 Minutes
    Dec 17, 2014
I am flying from Toronto (Air Canada) to Denver (United) to Maui. I have 56 minutes to get from the Air Canada gate in Denver to the United gate from departure to Maui. I realize I clear US customs in Toronto. I have a NEXUS card to help speed things up. Do I have to go through security (Customs was done in Toronto) again in Denver as I see this as a potential choke/delay point? What are my chances of making the Denver - Maui flight with only 56 minutes to get from one airline gate (Air Canada) to another (United). Thanks for your help..

All you have to do in Denver is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.

Do I need to go through security again in Denver. I find security eats up a lot of time especially at busy airports... thanks

No, you do not have to go through security in Denver.

  • Flying in from Toronto to IAD and connecting to Aruba
    Dec 17, 2014
We are a large group of 16 family members flying out on New Years day to Aruba, connecting in Washington. We are flying with United, on one ticket. We have only 50 min connection time. Should I be worried.

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Toronto. All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If your flight from Toronto is on-time you will have plenty of time.

I'm flying in from Manchester, in the UK, into Philly airport. Will a 2hrs connection time, be enough for me, to catch my onward flight to Nashville?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

  • what is the distance between T4 and T5.
    Dec 17, 2014
Hi, My DXB JFK flight by emirates will lands at 1350hrs at terminal 4 and i have Jet blue flight at 1759 to Orlando. can you please let me know the transfers detail betwen T4 and T5? what is the easiest way to travel between T4 and T5 ? shall i need to claim bags at JFK and put them to Jet blue?

You will arrive in T4, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then if you purchased both flights together and your bags are tagged to MCO, you can re-check them at the transfer desk in T4, otherwise you will need to bring them on the AirTrain to T5 and check them at the JetBlue counter there. Get your jetblue boarding pass and go through security. You have plenty of time.

  • connection time
    Dec 17, 2014
I will be coming from Richmond Virginia and with a connection to Orange County, CA (SNA). My connection time is only 40 minutes. Will I make it? Will a checked bag make it? The flight is a month from now. Don't know terminals and gates yet.

That should be enough time, but obviously leaves very little to spare in case of delays.

  • Customs?
    Dec 17, 2014
I will be flying with United Airlines leaving Calgary Canada, going thru Newark with final destination Orlando. I land at terminal c and have 30 minutes to get to terminal a for my connection. Will this be enough time? Thanks

I am on united the whole trip I actually land at A and fly out of C. Will my luggage be put thru to orlando or do I have to collect it at Newark

Note that your first flight will be operated by Air Canada. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. In Newark you do not have to do anything with your baggage, just take the AirTrain from Terminal A to Terminal C and go through security. 30 minutes is barely enough time.

  • Hour and a half layover at Houston
    Dec 16, 2014
Me and a friend are travelling tomorrow from columbia, sc to Heathrow connecting in Houston. We have an hour and a half layover and one checked bad each. Will this be long enough? She is travelling on a UK passport

Yes, that should be plenty of time. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.
