Hi, I will be flying from Toronto to Korea, connecting in Chicago (ORD) then in Toyko (NRT). I will be taking United airline (but different aircrafts) all throughout the flight so I can safely assume that I won't need to recheck my luggage in each of the connecting city. 1) Do I need to go through customs at ORD? 2) I have a layover time of 1 hour. will i have enough time to catch the next UA aircraft? 3) Do I need to get a boarding pass at ORD and NRT (I ordered the ticket from the unitedairline website)? 4) Which terminals do I need to go through at ORD? 5) Do you know if I just need to go through the security check at NRT?

I am a bit worried about the time to go through immigration. I will arrive to IAH on Dec. 11th at 14:00 on flight LH 440 and leave to CUN on flight United 1020 at 15:54. I have carry on and checked luggage. Do you really believe that I can make the connection?

Hi! I plan to book a flight to JFK fr MNL on PR arriving at JFK terminal 1 at 0700. I have a connecting flight to BOS on DL. I'm wondering if the flight that will depart at 1030 would be feasible considering that I have to pass with immigration and customs or will i book the flight that departs @ 1300? Pls help.

Hi, I am arriving at Dallas airport on Dec. 3 from South Korea on American Airlines (AA280) and boarding AA280 to go to Miami in 3 hours. Do I need to go through immigration and collect my baggage even though I am going to take off and board the same airplane again? Please let me know. Thank you so much.

This is an additional question to the above. What terminal do I arrive in? Do I need to go to the same gate to go to Miami? Thank you!

Hi, I am arriving in IAH on December 23rd from GCM at 19:44 and my connecting flight to LAS is at 21:13. Will this give me enough time to clear immigration, collect and recheck my bag and go through security? Thank you

Yes, that should be enough time. However, it doesn't leave much time to spare in case of delays.

Hi! I'm leaving london and have a 1h40min connection time from EWR to YOW (ottawa). Is this enough time to make it? Do I have to claim my luggage or is it already checked in for me?

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal B or C, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go to your departure terminal (likely A) on the AirTrain then go through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time but don't have much time to spare in case of delays.

  • Terminal C to E less than 40 mins

Hi, We will be arriving from LA to Houston at 5:30am at terminal C and have connecting flight from houston to cancun at 6:10am from terminal E (connection time less than 40 mins). We dont have baggage just a carry on...how long will it take to change the terminal assuming we arrive at farthest gate at terminal C and deprating at farthest gate in terminal E...what will be better option for the transfer running with our carryon or take the terminal link?

That should be enough time. Those Redeye flights usually arrive early. It's probably fastest to walk.

Thanks for your response. How long will take to go from terminal C to terminal E

Hi, Nest month, we are taking international flight from terminal B. We will arrive terminal C in domestic flight. Is there a shuttle bus we can take from C to B to avoid security checkin again at terminal B?

United does have a shuttle bus from C to B.

  • 55 min connection terminal C1 and C3

I'm flying into Newark on a Wednesday arriving at 8:15am into C3 and out of C1 55 minutes later. I'm very nervous as it looks on the map as though there are security checkpoints in terminal C between 1 and 3. Can you tell me if there are securitiy checkpoints between C1 and C3, if Wednesday mornings tend to be congested and if 55 minutes seems like a doable connection? The next flight leaving to our destination wouldn't be until the next day.

All gates in C are connected inside security. You should have enough time.

  • With carry-on bag(s) is connection time enough

Travelling AA 1586 Toronto to LAX on Jan 4/15 arriving LAX 9:05pm at Terminal 4. U.S. Customs clearance is apparently done in Toronto. ONLY carry-on bags. Connecting flight (booked separately) is Quantas leaving Bradley terminal at 10:30pm to Sydney, Australia. If I walk from T4 to Bradley should this allow enough time?

Yes, it is possible but it depends on your flight from Toronto arriving on-time. If it is late more than 15 minutes, you will arrive in the Bradley Terminal after the check-in cutoff.

Thanks for the info. If online check-in is done within 24 hrs of flight to Australia, would this constitute check-in? Just assuming the check-in cut off is 60 minutes, but could online check-in alter this time frame? thanks

Hi, i'm arriving to Dallas with American Airlines flight 996 from Buenos aires, Argentina scheduled at 7 Am, then I have a connection with AA too, flight 2293 to San Francisco scheduled at 9 AM, so I have 2 hours between both flights, is that enough? Thank you all.

Yes, 2 hours should be sufficient time for your connection.

Do i have to pick up my luggage and re check it? Do I have to go to another terminal?

You will arrive in Terminal D, go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go up to the departure level, go through security, and then take the SkyLink train to your departure terminal if your flight to SFO is leaving from a terminal other than Terminal D.
