I'm flying from CLT to MUC on Lufthansa and connecting to ZAG on Cityline. Will I have to go through security to make my connecting flight on Cityline?

Yes, you will have to go through security but not immigration as both the US and Croatia are outside Schengen.

Toronto - ORD on JAL flight 7451 (Operated by Envoy Air AS American Eagle for AA) 45 minute layover ORD - Tokyo on JAL flight 9 What's the likelihood I make this connection?

If your first flight is on-time it should be pretty easy. Both flights will be in Terminal 3 and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. You will pre-clear US Immigration in Toronto.

I have a flight arriving at Gate C41 and I have a 38 min layover. I have a connecting flight at gate A7. Will I have enough time to get to my connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security.

  • Connecting time for International -> Domestic enough?

Hello everyone, we (group of 4) booked a flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to Orlando (MCO) via Washington (IAD), and now the ladies are worried that the connection time (105 minutes) could be too short. Both flights are on United. Landing from FRA is scheduled for 08:05 PM on a friday evening. Departure to MCO is scheduled for 09:50 PM. What do you think? Do we really have to go through Immigration, customs, baggage claim, baggage drop-off and security? Sounds like a lot. Many thanks in advance, greetings from Germany

Yes, you have the procedure correct. You should have plenty of time. Immigration and security will not be crowded that late in the evening.

Thank you very much, thats a relief.

I am flying from Paris to Indianapolis with a layover in Detroit. Where do I go through customs? How much time should be allowed? I am on the same airline for all flights so would I just go through customs in Indy

You will go through immigration and customs in Detroit. You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US customs, and re-check your bags with Delta. Then you will go through security and to the departure level for your departing flight to Indianapolis. You'll need about 90 minutes.

I'm flying into LAX on Southwest and must transfer to international terminal Delta headed for Australia. Are there any cabs or other assistance? I'm concerned that pushing the carts will be difficult since I have lower back problems.

There is a shuttle bus that connects all terminals on the lower (arrivals) level of the terminal roadside. Note that your Delta flight to Australia will depart from Terminal 5, not the International Terminal.

how long is the walk from terminal 1 to terminal 5? I can't lift suitcase onto shuttle?

  • 40 Minute Layover in ORD from Calgary

Hi, I am considering purchasing a ticket through Air Canada from Calgary - Chicago - Charlotte, however there is only 40 minutes between arriving in Chicago and leaving for Charlotte. Will we need to go through customs in Chicago? Is this enough time? Many thanks.

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Calgary. Both flights will be operated by United or United Express. All you have to do in Chicago is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

    Very helpful - thank you.

  • International-Domestic Transfer

Hello, Curious to know if there is anything i should look out for. i am flying from Doha to JFK and on to Norfolk. I booked the tickets all together, and I am flying into and out of T8 (Qatar Airways and American Airlines). Just wondering if I am going to have to recollect/recheck my bags and if I'll be able to stay secure side during my layover. It's 2 hours long. Thank you!

There are no secure side intl->domestic transfers in the US. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

I am considering flying into JFK from Milan arriving at 7pm on Emirates, then flying to Chicago on Jet Blue departing 8:45pm. Is this enough time to clear customs, collect and recheck bags? Please advise!!

Were your tickets bought together or separately. If together it should be enough time as you can just drop your bags after you clear customs. However, if bought separately you may have a tough time getting to T5 before the bag cutoff.

We are flying from Atlanta to Chicago on American Airlines and then on Iberius from Chicago to Madrid. Do we have to claim our luggage and re check in?

No, your bags should be checked through to Madrid in Atlanta and both your arrival gate and your departure gate will be in Terminal 3. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Connection through Denver

I will be arriving from Salt Lake City (Utah) on flight LH 9405 (operated by United) and departing for Frankfurt (Germany) on LH 447 for a final destination to Mumbai (India). I will have approximately 90 minutes connection time between the flights at Denver International Airport. I will be travelling on a business class ticket. My questions are 1. Considering that I will arrive at concourse B and leave from concourse A, will I have to go through security screening? If yes, shall I get a priority screening? 2. Will my check in luggage be booked through to my final destination and I will not have to re-check it at Denver International Airport? Thanks in advance for your help.

Concourses A and B are connected inside security by an underground train. Your bags will be checked through to Mumbai in SLC. All you have to do in Denver is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

where is the tram located zbetween gate A and gate G?

There is no tram between A and G. The Tran runs between A and D. There is however, a walkway inside security that runs across the airport from an area near C12-13 to G17. If you need to go between A and G, that's the way to go.

Is 80 minutes enough to transfer from FLL on United to BRU on Brussels Airlines? Thanks

If both tickets are bought together, then yes that should be enough time. United should be able to check your bags through to Brussels in FLL and all you have to do in IAD is take the Mobile Lounge or Aerotrain from C/D where you will arrive to B where you will depart.

  • Las Vegas -> Chicago -> Frankfurt

On 28th of June I'm flying Lufthansa at 16.05 from Chicago (Terminal 1) to Frankfurt. In order to catch this flight I was planning to fly from Las Vegas to Chicago with Spirit Airlines NK446, which lands in Chicago at 14.05 (I assume Terminal 3). Both flights are separate (CHI - FRA is already booked, LAS-CHI not yet). So I'll need to land, claim for baggage, go to another Terminal, drop the baggage. Is it do-able in 2 hours? (Lufthansa says that Checkin is possible up to 60min before the flight). Thank you!

It's possible in 2 hours, but if you miss your connection due to a delay on your Spirit flight, Lufthansa will be of no obligation to rebook you and you may have to spend the night in Chicago. However, since you already purchased the CHI-FRA flight, the Spirit flight may still be your best option.

  • Air Canada to Air Canada connection times

July 4th connecting in Chicago from Air Canada 3221 to Air Canada 7402 (arriving in ORD at 12:45 pm, departing at 1:20 pm). Is this enough time ?

Note that your first flight is a United Express flight. Your United Express flight will likely arrive in Terminal 2, but it may arrive in Terminal 1. Air Canada 7402 will depart from Terminal 2. Terminals 1 and 2 are connected inside security by a walkway. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.
