I will be flying from Panama (pty) to Dulles and the connecting Dulles- Rome on saturday 18th. I have 2 hours from one flight to the next. Since both are international flights I have to go through costumes in Dulles, pick up my bags and drop them off for connecting flights. Do you think Ill have time? Do I have to go through TSA security point as well?

At IAD, all international arrivals are being transported to the International Arrivals Building at the west end of the main terminal for TSA clearance: You need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. Therefore, you cannot use the AeroTrain, but need to take the Mobile Lounge shutttle to either gates D1-32 and H-gates. D & C gates are connected, for A & B gates you need to take the AeroTrain. No security check needed. Two hours transfer time will be enough.

  • PRG - JFK - DEN with 2h30min layover

Hi, I'm flying international from PRG to JFK Terminal 4 with DL211 which arrives at 16:30 and I need to catch 19:00 DL971 from the same terminal. Do you think 2:30 is enough to go through imigration, new second imigration SEVIS check, customs, check baggage and another security for domestic flight? Or should I look for another flights?

    That should be enough time

Thanks for quick answer:) I have one more question, how does baggage re-checking work? Do I have to go to normal airline check-in counter or is there any other place to re-check?

Delta will have a re-check desk right after you exit customs

  • Friend leaving from a different terminal

Hi! I'm leaving from O'Hare and so is a close friend. We're trying to figure out how to stay together as long as possible before our flights. Mine leaves a few hours after hers, and I'm leaving from Terminal 3 while she's leaving from Terminal 1. Are either or both of these scenarios possible: 1) Can I check in at Terminal 3, she check in at Terminal 1, and can I walk to meet her at her gate after clearing security at Terminal 3? The terminals do connect after clearing security, right? OR 2) Can I check in at Terminal 3, drop my bags, then before going through security go with her to Terminal 1, where she can check in...? My real question is, can I go WITH her through security at her terminal (T-1) even though I've dropped my bags at Terminal 3? Thanks so much!

Either scenario works. However I think that 1 would be the easiest.

Thanks so much! So you're positive that I can wait with someone at her gate who's leaving on a different airline in any of the three terminals (T-1, T-2, T-3)? United Airlines told me that each airline has its own gates cordoned off and that someone travelling on one airline can't wait at the gate with someone traveling on another. :P Is this not true (I'm hoping it isn't)?

That's not true. Nobody checks what airline you're flying on when you're just waiting at the gate

Thanks again! So all terminals connect airside, and there are no checkpoints that would stop me from walkmg from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 airside (past security) because my ticket is on American? Thinking of checking in at Terminal 3 and going to meet her at her gate at Terminal 1 and just want to be sure I can do this. Please let me know. Thanks again!

I have to travel from atlanta and catch qatar flight ar 11pm.can somebody guide me asto how to checking my luggage at iad

So you're buying two separate tickets? It's quite simple, you book a flight that is scheduled to get into IAD before 8:30 PM, then when you arrive, go to the baggage claim in the main terminal, then when you get your baggage, take it upstairs to the departure level and the Qatar Airlines counter.

hi. will be using alitalia to travel from beirut to chicago. both arrival and departure should be in terminal 3. I am not sure if will need to go through T5 or not. should be able to get both boarding pass from beirut and the lugguage should be sent to chicage strainght. thx

Only US airlines use T5 in FCO. Alitalia flights to the US use terminal 3.

How easy is it to connect from the main terminal 3 to the G gate. Do I need to walk, taka a us or what

  • 37 minutes enough??

So my flight itinerary is SFO-IAH-OMA. The layover in IAH is only 37 minutes. I have conflicting terminal locations for the arrival into IAH (it is either C or E) and I believe I depart from terminal B. How long does it take to get from Terminal C to Terminal B? How long does it take to get from Terminal E to Terminal B? Will I be able to make both situation?

United mainline flights into IAH can arrive into C or E, so you won't know until the day of your flight. C or E to B can take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes on the TerminaLink train, depending on where in C/E your arriving gate is and how close it is to the TerminaLink station.

I need to make my way from E4 to B85 in 37 minutes at IAH. is that enough time to make it?

If your first flight is on-time it's possible, but hurry.

thanks! the plane actually landed about 7 minutes early so i got out when we were supposed to land. still had to hurry to the terminal, but made the flight! =)

  • Time to transit from T5 on a Wednesday a

ba297 is always late at least 30 - 40 minutes giving us only am hour and 20 or 20 minutes to make our flight connection in T3' is this doable On a Wednesdat around 6:30 pm?

I see most days BA297 doesn't get in until 6:30 or later, so I think it's very unlikely you'll be able to make a 6:30 PM AA connection. If there's a later flight to your destination you'll be rebooked on that.

We have the exact same scenario. We have an 8:05 connection after arriving on BA297. We are US citizens. So, can we make it to terminal 3 with a 6:30 arrival giving us a hour and 35 minutes to make an AA flight on a Wednesday?

  • How much time between airlines at T5

I will be arriving at 6:55am into T5 via Hawaiian airlines with a connecting flight on JetBlue that departs at 7:40am from T5. Will I have enough time to make the connecting flight? Would also help to know what terminal Hawaiian flies into.

Both Hawaiian and JetBlue use T5 at JFK. You will have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

We will arrive at IAH from BHM on United. Our flight to CLL leaves 35 minutes later. Do we have a chance? We have good running shoes.

Yes, you have a chance but it will be tough unless your first flight is quite early. You will likely have to take the TerminaLink train from B to A-north.

Thanks for the reply! We will hope for the best. :) I have often flown out of IAH, but this will be the first time I've visited witha connecting flight.

Flight 6126 to Ohara, arrival 1818, terminal 1 connecting to flight 1633 at 1824,, terminal 5. Will I make my connection?

What airline(s)? No United flights depart from Terminal 5, however, I wouldn't plan on making any connection in 6 minutes. Do you have your times correct?

At O'Hare Airport, on arrival at Terminal 1, follow signs to the free ATS shuttle train running every few minutes in the unsecured areas of the terminals - meaning that on arrival at Terminal 5 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate (M gate). You may need about 25 mins from gate to gate.

I would like to book flight and there's an offer from Air France: Orlando-Detroit-Amsterdam-StPetersburg. Delta-Delta-Klm Is it possible to pass international passport control in 50 minutes? Flight from Orlando arrives at 18:43 and flight to Amsterdam departs at 19:40.

There will be no international passport control in Detroit on that Itinerary. Orlando-Detroit is domestic. You could make that connection.

I am arriving from Charlotte NC on flight 1578 and will have 2 hours to connect with Flight 742 to Spain. Will I have to pass through security again? What terminals will I arrive on and depart from? Thanks!

No, you won't have to go through security on the way to Spain and CLT only has one terminal.

Sorry, thought you were connecting in CLT. The answer about security is still the same and your flight will probably arrive in B and depart from A - which are connected.

I will be arriving at BOS via Delta then flying to MVY via CapeAir. Will 1hr 4min be enough time for my connection?

That will be really tough. You will arrive in Terminal A and depart from Terminal C, which are not directly connected, and you will have to go through security again.
