Hello, I'm going to Tokyo next week. I fly from Amsterdam to Roma and then Tokyo. But in Roma I only have 50 minutes to change the plane and I guess the terminal. Do you think it is sufficient and what do I have to do once landed in Roma?

I am flying into DEN on a United flight concourse B and need to make a Southwest flight, concourse C---I have 31 minutes---Can I make it?

If you check in online for your Southwest flight and print out your boarding pass before departing on your United flight and you don't have checked bags, and your United flight is on-time, and you run, you have a chance of making it.

  • Connecting flight change....
    May 30, 2015

I had booked a flight from Birmingham (UK) BHX to EWR with a connecting flight to MCO for this Summer both arriving and departing in the same Terminal (I think). I have now had a connecting flight change (by UA without us knowing) but I don't know what terminal this flies from. I arrive on UA26 and connect to UA1027, this has a longer wait time in between, which I can live with, but I am now concerned about customs, baggage claim etc. and what I exactly need to do when I arrive in order to board the next flight.... wherever it departs from! any ideas? Thanks :)

You will arrive in Terminal B or C, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk. If you arrived at Terminal B you will take the AirTrain to Terminal C. Then go through security and to your departure gate in Terminal C. The minimum time to do this is 90 minutes but I recommend about 2 hours.

  • Connecting UAL-Austrian at IAD

I am booked to VIE connecting at IAD from UAL to Austrian; inbound domestic flight has changed (by UAL) from 1:01 connect time to 0:41 connect time. I will have one checked bag. Can I make the connection; will bag?

It's possible but leaves no time to spare if the first flight is delayed. Especially if your United flight arrives in the C or D concourse (most of them do). Austrian departs from the B concourse.

Thanks, Zap. That's what I thought.

  • Connection from Venice on to Seattle

Is it enough time to arrive from Venice, Italy on Air France at 8:45AM and depart to Seattle, WA on Delta at 10:15AM? I have purchased the flight separately and will have to check luggage and go through passport/immigration before flying on to America.

What Airport? There is a chance you could show your Delta confirmation to the agent in Venice and have your bags checked through to Seattle.

  • 1.5 hrs enough to transfer from T5 to T1 at JFK with hand luggage?
    May 30, 2015
    1
My flight is expected to arrive at T5 JFK at 21:20 from San Diego (Jetblue). I was considering buying another flight to London that departs from JFK T1 at 23:00. However I am not sure this will be enough time even if I have hand luggage only. Any ideas/advice? Many thanks in advance!

It's possible, especially if you are able to check in for your London flight online before you leave San Diego. However if you miss the connection due to your Jetblue flight being late don't expect Norwegian to be very forgiving.

  • IAD to HNL

We will be arriving at A2 at 7am as scheduled. Then connecting to C12 at 8:55am. With baggage claim and all do we have enough time? Will there be security as well?

Where are you coming from? Can you describe your entire itinerary? If both flights are on United and you are connecting in IAD and going to HNL then you won't have to claim your bags or go through security.

I'm a non US citizen considering booking a flight on the British Airways website from key west to barcelona with a connection in miami of 2hrs 51mins. From key west to miami it says executed by Republic Airlines As American Eagle and from miami to barcelona it says executed by American Airlines. Do I go through customs, security, passport control in miami? Do I have to collect my luggage in miami and re-check in? Thank you for the info.

No, all you have to do in Miami is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All American/American Eagle gates in Miami are connected inside security. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.

I am flying from MEX to LAX on UA293 which lands at 11h50 on Oct 9th, then my next flight is UA198 on the same day from LAX to PVG which leaves at 13h05. Do I have enough time? Do I have to clear immigration or just intl to intl transfer?

Yes, you will arrive in T7, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. 75 minutes is well below what I would recommend for this transfer, but it is possible, especially considering that T6/T7 immigration will probably not be busy at the time you arrive.

  • Do I have to change terminals and collect baggage?
    May 30, 2015

If I fly into Rome but have a separate ticket for an in country flight to Naples do I have to collect baggage and changes terminals? Are terminals difficult to find and navigate through?

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage and transfer it to your second airline. Most domestic Italy flights are operated out of Terminal 1. You can walk easily between Terminals 1, 2, and 3 in Rome.

  • Connecting Flights at DFW
    May 29, 2015

I am considering flying through DFW to MSP this summer on American, only because their flights are much less expensive than our usual carrier, Delta. However, most of the flights from BNA to MSP via DFW have very short connections. (45 minutes or so). If my flight leaves out of Nashville on time, will this be a problem? If I'm connecting between two American flights, will I have to get to another concourse, or do all American flights arrive and depart from the same concourse? Thanks in advance.

American and American Eagle use four different terminals at DFW. However, they are all connected inside security by the SkyLink train. A 45 minute connection is possible between any two gates at DFW, but it doesn't leave much room to spare if there are any delays.

I am landing at Terminal 1 and have 1 hour to get to Terminal 2. Is this feasible?
