Is 1:15 hrs enough time to meet connection on a Sunday to GCM? US Customs preclearance is done at YYZ before being allowed to proceed to security? Flying US Airways on both legs. Thanks

Yes, connections at CLT are pretty easy.

We arrive from Toronto terminal F and leave for Dublin 1 and a half hours later from terminal A. All US Airways. Will our luggage be transferred? On return I understand we will have to go through immigration and get our luggage and get to terminal F for our flight to Toronto. We have 1 hour and 45 minutes...will we make it?

Yes, you should have enough time.

I will be arriving from Nassau with UA1462 at Teminal C and leave for Munich with UA106 from Terminal C 1 hour later. Do we need to collect the luggage or is it check through to Munich? Do we need to pass immigration/security or is the transfer within Terminal C without immigration? Can we make it in 1h? Thanks

You will go through US Immigration Preclearance in Nassau. You will not have to touch your luggage in Newark. If your first flight is on-time 1 hr will be enough time.

We are 4 people arriving in LA from melbourne on qantas at 6.35am, flying to Mexico City on Aeromexico and want to change our 2.00pm flight to an earlier flight. What would the minimum changeover time be given customs etc.

I would be comfortable booking a flight out after 9 AM. Aeromexico appears to have a 9:53 AM flight that looks quite doable.

On arrival at LAX, you need to to through passport check, pick up your bags and go through customs clearance - allot 1 hr. If Qantas transfers your bags to Aeromexico flight (check with Qantas), you simply re-check in your bags - if not, you need to take your bags along and check them in at Terminal 5 (add 20 mins). While Qantas uses both Terminals T4 & the Bradley terminal (TBIT or TB), Aeromexico uses Terminal 5. If arriving at TBIT, exit the terminal and walk to the right to T4 and adjacent T5 where you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate (a 10-min. walk). (Alternatively, you could take the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins.)

Hi, I have 45 min of connection between flight in FRA terminal 1 on Sunday. I come from Barcelona and I go to San Francisco. I only have 45 minutes between flights. Can someone help or advice me about connections betweens gates? :P Thank you!

If you arrive at and depart from the same Terminal 1 of FRA, you will use either Z, B or C gates; your transfer time should suffice. This is the Concourse layout: Concourse Z (on upper level of Concourse A) is divided into gates Z11-25 (left) and Z50-69 (right) - accessible from the Tunnel connecting A, Z & B Concourse B, gates B1-B63: a transfer tunnel near B19 connects to A & Z gates; the SkyLine train near B-8 connects to E & D gates of Terminal 2. C gates are on the opposite side of A, B & Z piers, accessible from level 2 of the main terminal, with separate gate areas holding gates C1-C9, and gates C13-20 (located near D gates D32-35.)

We are UK citizens and arrive at 1.20pm on an air pacific flight from fiji, and would like to book a Spirit Airlines flight to Las Vegas, departing at 3.30pm. Is this enough time? We will have a checked backpack each.

Yes, that should be enough time. However, keep in mind that Spirit is a ULCC like Ryanair, so if you miss your flight don't expect any reaccomadation. I would probably recommend the 4 PM flight on Southwest instead.

friend is flying into DTW gate A12 arriving at 707 and needs to get to gate C11 for flight that departs at 735 - how quick can he get there?

It's possible - he'll have to run. You can do that connection in about 10-15 minutes if you move quickly.

I arrive PHX @ 9:55 am on SW - depart @11:35 on US Airways. Will I have time to pick up my luggage from SW, and check-in with luggage with US Airways in time?

If your first flight is on-time it should be enough time, but any delays and you could be in trouble.

  • Help for dropping off at terminals Pleas

Hello, we have flights for my daughter to fly on Aitalia to Milan at 9am with my husband and myself returning to the US at 9:40am on Delta the same day. We'd very much like to get her checked in and to her gate before we go do the same. How long does it take to transfer between the necessary terminals and will it be a real hassle if we have several suitcases? We appriecate any recommnedations. Thank you!

You will not be able to go to her gate with her. I suggest you do your goodbyes when you drop her at Terminal 1 and then make your way to terminal 5. You will have to check in and go through special security procedures in T5 so you should not delay. After that you will be bussed to the Terminal 3 satellite for your departure.

Hi! My parents are flying next week from Warsaw-Paris-Atlanta-Wichita. They have to go through immigration check in Atlanta and then get somehow to domestic terminal. Could someone give me a brief description of what should they look for in terms of directions? They do not speak english and I am afraid they are going to get lost. How do they get to the "Plane Train" ? Any information or maps would be very helpful!

I should mention that they are flying Air France to Atlanta and arriving at Terminal I , they have about 2 hrs to get through immigration, their connecting flight is operated by Delta Air Lines and departs from Terminal S. I bought tickets about a month ago so I am not sure if the flight from Atlanta to Wichita will still be from the Terminal S?

They will go through immigration in the International terminal. Then they just have to re-check their bags with Delta in that terminal, go through security there, and take the Plane Train to the concourse for their Wichita flight. They don't have to actually go to the main Domestic terminal - they can go straight to their concourse.

Where is the Plane Train located? Do they have to take stairs upstairs downstairs? Are there hanging signs "Plane Train"?

The plane train runs underground between all the concourses. It's fairly obvious. They will likely go downstairs at their arriving gate in order to go through immigration.

How long is it currently taking to get through security in Terminal 2 (Delta) for a 6:00 a.m. flight?

6am on weekdays can be quite busy; to be on the safe side, allocate an hour for security check.

  • American to United HOW do you connect?

How do you connect from Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 at Ohare? Do you have to go out of security?

No, you do not. You can walk from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2 then Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 all beyond security. Just follow the signs. The walkway in Terminal 3 is near the G concourse and not many people use it because there aren't many T3-T2 connections. Lots of people walk from T2 to T1 because most of United Express is in T2 and mainline United is in T1.

Im arriving on Southwest concourse B and departing on American Concourse D. How do I get there and do I need to go through security again?

I'm pretty sure you can walk between concourse B and the Main Terminal to D automated Tram beyond security. If you can't, you'll need to exit security in the main terminal, go to the departures level, go through security and then follow the signs to concourse D tram.

I'm looking at booking a United flight from Calgary to Buffalo connecting in Chicago--time between flights is 52 minutes--will that be enough time to go through customs and get from terminal 1 to terminal 2?

You will go through US immigration in Calgary. Both of your flights may be in Terminal 1, both may be in Terminal 2. If you can tell me the flight numbers and/or operating carriers I can help you with where the gates will likely be. Regardless, Terminal 1 and 2 are connected beyond security.

Thanks! Right now the itinerary says that the flight from calgary lands in one and leaves to buffalo from 2--I thought i would have to do the US customs in Chicago since I had to do it in Minnesota connecting from Paris on my last international trip.

That's because you were coming FROM Paris. Major Canadian airports have pre-clearance for flights to the U.S. Again, if you share your flight numbers and/or operating carriers I can help you determine what terminal your flights will likely be in.
