I heard that there is some "vouchers " that allow you to skip the immigration line (or go with a shorter line) for passengers who are connecting flight. Is there true? If so, where/how to get those "vouchers"

No such thing in the U.S.

What's happen if I missed my connection saying that the immigration/custom takes too long? I'm flying from Canada and need to change plane in IAD. I will be flying with United for all flights. Is United will re-booked without fees?

Yes, if you miss your connection due to immigration delays you will be rebooked without a change fee on the next available flight. However, note that when coming from most places in Canada you pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada.

I am flying from Barcelona to Toronto, layoff at JFK via American Airline (1 tickets). Do I have to claim baggage and via custom at JFK? Is 2 hours enough for transfer?

Yes, in JFK you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Toronto.

    So will 2 hr enough?

    Yes, it should be

I was wondering where I will have to clear security and customs if I begin my journey in Columbus, flying to Heathrow via Washington? I only have an hour stopover time in Washington and I'm concerned i could get held up at customs or security?

You do not go through US Customs or Security when leaving the US. All you have to do in Washington on your way to London is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I"m flying from BOI to ORD to EDI all United. Do I have to claim my baggage at ORD and recheck it for the EDI flight?

No, you only have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate on your way to EDI. All United gates at ORD are connected inside security.

Did you purchase your tickets together or separately. If separately it may be difficult for you to get yourselves and your baggage to T5 before the bag cutoff.

  • FRA- PHL-RSW connection

Hello, I am traveling from FRA to PHL in September with a gap of 1hr 45 min. Arriving in Terminal A and Departing in Terminal B. Will this be enough time to go through customs and make the next flight? What are the chances of the airport changing terminals or gates?

That should be enough time. Any gate that a flight to RSW would depart from is directly connected to Terminal A.

Hi. There will be 12 of us traveling from Heathrow to Orlando with a connection in Newark. The connection to Orlando has been brought forward by 30 minutes so we no only have 75 minutes to make the next flight. Will this be enough time bearing in mind we have 3 children and an 85 year old with us?

Sorry forgot to add this is all through United.

No, that is not enough time. You need to contact your travel agent or United and request an earlier flight from Heathrow or later flight to Orlando. They are required to provide this due to the involuntary schedule change.

  • Do i need a Schengen Visa

I am flying from Calgary to Cairo. i have 2 layovers. one 1:15 layover in AMS then another 4 hours one in Paris. Do i need a Schengen visa? in other words is the flight between AMS and PAris considered a domestic flight? My airlines is AF. I am an egyptian citizen with PR status in canada. Thanks!

From what I can tell if you were not making two stops within Schengen, your Canadian Permanent Residency would have exempted you from needing an Airport Transit Visa. However, since you are flying a flight between two points in Schengen you need a regular Transit Visa, which your Canadian Permanent Resident status does not exempt you from requiring.

My wife and I are US citizens flying from Lima, Peru on June 6 with a final destination of Austin, TX. We will have a layover of 1 hr 35 min in IAH. Will this be enough time to pass through customs and make it to our connecting flight?

Yes, that should be enough time as long as your flight from Lima is on-time. If you do miss your connection due to a delay there are many flights from Houston to Austin you can be rebooked on.

I will take the Virgin Australia (VA7) arrive LAX at 06:55 at Terminal B and then take Delta (DL6426) departing at 09:00 at Terminal 5, I have only 2 hours 5 minute time for the connection. This is my first trip to US. I worry about the connection time, is that enough´╝č

Brisbane - Los Angeles - San Francisco

Yes, if your tickets were purchased together that should be enough time.

Thank you very much for the reply. yes, purchased together, even it does, i need to pick up my check in luggage at terminal B and go through customs and re-check in Terminal 5, isn't it?

If your tickets are purchased together you can follow the sign for connecting passengers in the International Terminal and re-check your bags there, not having to carry them to T5.

all on alitalia, Im arriving from cairo to T3 at 7:00 am and will depart to madrid at T1 at 8:00 am. I will not pick any baggage which will be shipped directly from Cairo to madrid. Shall we will be checked at immegration in rome for schingen visa or only at madrid and what is the shortest and fastest way to get from T3 to T1 for advises

You should have enough time barely. Follow signs towards your departure gate. You will go through Schengen passport control on your route. You will have to go through Schengen entry in Rome.
