  • Domestic to International 1 hr layover

I am flying from SAT into IAH (term C)with a 1 hr. layover then going to Toronto YYZ (fromTerm A) is this possible ?

Yes, it's possible. The TerminaLink connects all Terminals inside security. I assume your Toronto flight is on Air Canada if you say you're leaving from A, correct?

    Yes, thanks

  • Is 26 minutes enough time?
    Jun 26, 2014

I want to book a flight using reward miles. But, i'd have a 26 minute layover in LGA. That would just be stupid, right? If I book it and miss a flight, is the airline responsible for getting me to my destination, or would it be my fault because I booked a flight with a 26 minute layover?

If both tickets are booked on the same airline together, then they are responsible for getting you there even if you miss your connection, however, that may mean you won't get to your destination for several hours or maybe even a day later.

I will be arriving on Alaska at 6:35 a.m. and need to connect to Hawaiian Airlines flight leaving at 10:00 a.m. How do I get to the concourse served by Hawaiian Airlines?

Hawaiian uses the S Satellite. Simply follow the signs to the S Satellite. There are a series of trains that connect the Alaska gates in C, D, and N to S. You should have plenty of time.

  • Connection, termincal C -> B
    Jun 26, 2014

I will arrive from the Carrabian with UA in termincal C but have a connection flight out of US from terminal B. I have around 90 minutes to catch the connecting flight, is that enough ? Do I have to get my baggages and check in again in terminal B ?

Were your tickets bought together or separately? What airline are you flying out of B? If bought together you can re-check your bags in Terminal C after you clear customs. 90 minutes leaves no time to spare for your connection. It will be difficult.

Those are two seperate tickets so I canĀ“t check my bags all the way. I fly with Icelandair from terminal B.

Then no, you will have a very tough time making it in 90 minutes. You will have to take the baggage with you to Terminal B. Unless your flight arrives early (which is very rare at EWR, especially in the afternoon and evening), you won't make it to Terminal B with your baggage prior to the baggage check cutoff time.

It will be hard to make your transfer in the time you have, but it's doable. You will both arrive and depart from Terminal 8. Upon arrival, you will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then drop your bags at the baggage re-check with American. Then you will go to the departure level and through security and to your departure gate. If you miss your connection then you will be rebooked on the next AA flight to Los Angeles, of which there are many.

  • International transfer / Transit without USA Visa possible?
    Jun 26, 2014
    2
Dear, i am travelling from Paksitan to Toronto via Chicago o'Hare intl Airport. I dont have US Visa or transit Visa. Will i be required to pass through immigration for taking my flight for toronto? or my lugguage will be automatically placed on the next flight and i will just move to next flight gate? Thanks

Yes, you will have to pass through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs. You will then have to take the ATS Train from Terminal 5 where you arrive to your departure terminal (1,2, or 3). You need to either acquire a US transit visa or change your flights to ones that do not stop in the U.S.

Yes, you will depart from Terminal 8. Yes, this should be enough time, even if you have to transfer bags between terminals yourself.

  • Connecting flight miami-Dallas
    Jun 26, 2014

I arrive at Miami from Grand Cayman at 3:20pm and have a connecting flight to Dallas leaving at 5:25pm; both flights are with US Airways. I will only be taking hand luggage, will there still be enough time to clear immigration and make my flight? Miami has a history of missed flights and delays due to building works and long immigration lines. I have another connection once in Dallas only 2 hours between so timing is important.

Actually both of your flights will be operated by American. 2 Hours should be enough time, but as you mentioned, things at Miami are a bit unpredictable, however, I've heard that immigration there has gotten a lot better than it once was.

  • Connection between Alaska (Terminal 6) and Southwest
    Jun 25, 2014
    1
I am arriving on an International Alaska Airlines flight that arrives at 6:05 and connecting to a Southwest Airlines flight that leaves at 9:10. Will I have enough time to make it through immigration and customs, walk from terminal 6 to terminal 1, check my bag at Southwest and make it through security in time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will be out of customs by about 6:45 and should be at T1 by 7 or 7:15, leaving you plenty of time.

  • Connecting time (PMO-FCO-LAX)

I'm so glad I found this forum. We will be flying from PMO to FCO arriving at 9:10am and departing FCO for LAX at 10:10am. Both flights are on AZ. Will 1 hour be enough connecting time at FCO?

forgot to mention, we will be carrying our bags onboard.

Yes, since both flights are on Alitalia that should be enough time. Just follow signs to your departure gate, you will have to go through security on your way to the gate.

It appears that our flight from PMO arrives in Terminal 1 and our flight to LAX departs from Term 3. With 1 hour to connect, do you still feel this is enough time?

  • delayed flight

My flight from SDF to IAD is delayed. I need to make a flight to Brussels by the boarding end time of 520, but because of the delay, I wont arrive in DC until 4:44. It looms like I arrive at gate A4 and depart gate C2. The departing flight leaves at 5:35. Can I make it???

Yes, it's possible, take the AeroTrain from A to C.

Security won't open until like 4:30, but you'll be the only ones there that early so it won't take any time to get through security. If you get there at 4:15 you should have plenty of time.

I will be arriving at IAH from Santa Ana,CA SNA, at 12:16, United Flight #270 and connect to United Flight 4674 to Grand Rapids, MI at 12:51. Does 35 minutes allow enough time for this??

Yes, but it allows little time for delays. If you have to change terminals the TerminaLink train connects all terminals inside security.

Is there a way I could find out the terminals I will be coming in on AND departing from?

UA270 will likely arrive in C and UA4674 will likely depart from B.

    Thanks for your input.

  • CONNECTING FLIGHTS

I am flying from Munich to Cardiff via Amsterdam with a piece of hand luggage. Is 45 minutes enough to make my connecting flight from Amsterdam to Cardiff?

If both flights are on KLM that should be plenty of time.

Yes, that should be enough time - note that you have 1 hr 15 mins, not 50 mins. You will arrive in A, C, or D and depart from C or D. If you arrive in A, you take the mobile lounge or Aerotrain to C or D. The flight probably won't wait for you if you're late. You'll spend the night in a hotel and fly to London the next morning.

  • distance between B10 to B61

im arriving at B10 and taking a connection to B61. i only have an hour without delays. how many minutes walk?

You will have to collect your baggage after clearing immigration to clear customs. If you want to continue onto Atlanta you'll then re-check it with US Airways. If you want to go straight home, then you can just get picked up as you'll already have your bags.

Yes all international arrivals need to go through this procedure. You can buy separate tickets for each leg of your journey. After customs clearance take your bag with you (a) checking it in at connecting airline counter for onward travel, or (b) exit terminal at CLT with bags.

Thank you ZAP, your response was helpful.

Thank you sujun for your response as well.

  • Baggage transfer - YOW/YYZ/LHR/BCN

Flying out of Pearson on British airways to london then onto barcelona. I will taking flight from Ottawa to get to Toronto. I understand BA flies out of Terminal 3 I can take either AC or WJ to get to toronto but wondering if I would have to pick up luggage and recheck it as this would affect my choice. I believe AC flies into terminal 1 - so would have to switch terminals BUT BA and AC have a luggage agreement - so would my luggage be checked all the way thru from ottawa to barcelona? Otherwise if I have to pick up luggage I would pick WJ to flight into YYZ as I believe they are in terminal 3 - same as BA - so less hassle if I have to claim and recheck luggage? Any help or guidance greatly appreciated - hoping to avoid claiming/rechecking bag and would big whatever airline/terminal connection would make this easiest. thanks,

AC and BA do have a baggage agreement but AC may not check your bags through to BA if you purchase separate tickets because they are not in the same alliance.

Last year I flew on 2 separate tickets (AC ottawa/LHR) then BA (LHR to BCN) and they did check my bags thru....so is it safe to assume that this would happen again - even with a '3rd' leg as well (YOW to YYZ)? If so and bags are checked thru then I would of course choose AC to fly into toronto despite change of terminal. If not the case then I would choose WJ to fly into terminal 3 to pick up my BA flights...... In either case does anyone know if I have to actually PICK up my luggage in toronto? This would help me choose of course - THANKS A BUNCH:)

  • Can we make our connection?

We are US citizens arriving LAX at 12:30 PM from Fiji on Friday Oct 31 2014. We Have a flight on Southwest which leaves at 3PM but we have to collect our bags and check back through with Southwest. do we have enough time to make this flight?

Yes, if your flight from Fiji is on-time you should be OK. You will have to bring your bags with you to T1 to check with Southwest. Also try to check-in for your southwest flight online before you leave Fiji.

  • Time to catch different plane???
    Jun 24, 2014

I'm flying in from Orlando and should land in IAD at 11:16am. I have to catch another plane at 12:20pm. This is one of those "hacker" deals from Kayak. I'm trying to decide if I will have enough time to catch the other plane. I don't know how far apart the 2 planes are. Is this a big airport? Do you think I will have time to catch another plane? Will I have to go through security or something else that may slow me down? Any help is appreciated!

All gates at IAD are connected inside security. If you don't have checked bags and check in for your second flight on-line you should be OK.

That should be enough time. You will go through Immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, then re-check your bags in Terminal 4. Then you can go to the departure level, through security, and then take Delta's shuttle bus to Terminal 2 where you will depart, or take the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train to T2 and go through security there.
