Flying Toronto to Hawaii with a one hour (exact) layover in Denver. Is that reasonable to get make the connecting flight to Hawaii? Or is it going to be too tight for time? All flights are with United. Thanks!

Yes, that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate which will both be on the B Concourse

Hello, We are traveling from cancun to vancouver, and we have to change flight, but we traveling with the same company, we have 1,42 min, and we have to go from E to C. Do we have enough time? Thank you

Yes, that should be enough time. Note that you will have to go through US Immigration and Customs upon arrival in IAH.

Hi - looking at flying LA to Bogota via Houston (United) and have an hour's connection. Possible to make? I will have a six and four year old in tow. And will luggage get booked straight through?

Yes, baggage will be checked straight through. Yes, it's possible. You will arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E which is directly connected.

  • Connections in Newark - do i have to go through security again

I am connecting in Newark to a domestic flight. I originated in Halifax, but cleared U.S. customs and immigration there. Do I have to go through security again to make the connection.

No, you won't have to go through security as long as, if you have to change terminals, you use the United shuttle bus instead of the Airtrain.

Flying US Airways from Wilmington to Punta Cana with an 80 minute layover. Are the international gates in a different part of the airport than domestic flights. How long to walk from one to the other?

Your transfer time is sufficient. US Airways uses Concourses/Gates B, C, D & E - simply check the overhead screens for your connecting flight & gate number, then follow signs to your Concourse & gate.

Your connection shouldn't take more than 20 minutes.

hello, I will have transit of one hour only. I'm coming from Florence via Alitalia and suppose to change from terminal one to terminal three to catch emirates flight to Dubai. Is it possible since I don't have luggages.

You will arrive as a 'Schengen' (domestic) arrival at T1, Boarding Area B - all you need to do is follow signs to "Boarding Area D or H" (depending at which one Emirates depart from - look at overhead screens for Airline & gates). Note that Gates H1, H2, H3 are on the first level, while an escalator takes you to gates H6 - H19A.

  • Connection and general procedure after international flight

Hi everybody I'm going on a flight from Munich, Germany (MUC) to Providence, RI, USA (PVD) and connect in Washington Dulles (IAD). My connection time is 1 hr and 25 mins. Is that enough time to catch the flight with everything I have to do (immigration etc.), also what exactly is all that I have to do, like what are the steps? (note that I am from Germany and hold a visa, if that makes any difference) Thanks in advance!

    I forgot : I'll have a checked bag!

As an international arrival you will be processed in the Main Terminal of IAD (passport check, pick up bag, go through customs clearance & re-check-in bag where indicated). If you booked both flights separately (instead of on one ticket) you need to check with your airline if they will transfer your bag - if not you need to re-check it in at your connecting airline desk before proceeding to your next flight. For A/B gate connections you can walk to Midfield Concourse A/B or take train; For C gates at Midfield Concourse C/D you need to take the train; for D gates you need to take the shuttle bus after customs clearance. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/iad, click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS & scroll down to the detailed text. Your time should be sufficient.

sunov is incorrect. If your flight from Munich is on United you will arrive in the C concourse and go through US Immigration in United's facility there. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk if they are tagged through to PVD. Then you will go through security and to your departure gate.

Yes, my flight is with United and it's all on one ticket! Thank you!!

Arrive from lexington blue grass on a connecting flight from Dallas to London heathrow. . I arrive in Dallas at1600 terminal b and leave at 1650 from terminal d. How do I get between terminals and how long will it take. BA have assured me I have plenty of time ??!! Many thanks

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. You take the Skylink train which runs inside security. It should take 10-15 minutes to get between gates.

I am flying from Miami to SFO to SEA to YYC Calgary, in the leg of SEA to YYC, (all on Alaska Airlines) there's only 57 minutes for connection, will there be enough time? On the booking site, it says there's often 30 min. delay from SFO to SEA! Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. Note that your MIA-SFO flight will be operated by American Airlines.

Thank you, and yes you're correct, thanks again.

I have a flight to Chicago from Frankfurt Germany (Lufthansa) that was initially going to include a connection from Chicago to St. Louis (United). However, my plans have changed and I am now going from Chicago to Tulsa (United). What do I do about my bag that will be tagged to go to St. Louis? Where do I go to check it in for the different flight? thank you.

Two options. In Frankfurt you can show your Tulsa confirmation to the agent and hopefully the agent is able to tag your bag through to Tulsa instead of St. Louis. Then you will be able to re-check it at the transfer desk in T5 and then go to your departure terminal on the ATS train. If that's not possible, then in Chicago, after you claim your bag and go through customs, rip the tags off, take the ATS train to T1 and re-check your bags at the United counter to Tulsa (you will have to pay a checked bag fee).

    thank you!

  • connection time - YTZ - IAD - LAX - MEL

Is there enough time at IAD to make this connection? Canadian, will have checked bags to collect. Is the check-in for UA1465 (IAD-LAX) considered domestic or international? IAD-LAX-MEL was booked as one ticket. Which minimum checkin times apply? PD725: YTZ - IAD (arr 2:20pm) - 2h34m connection - UA1465: IAD (dep 4:54pm) - LAX (arr 7:40pm) UA98: LAX (dep 10:30pm) - MEL

You should have enough time. Once you clear customs in IAD you will just have to go up to the departure level and check your bags with United.

    Thanks.

I have a flight coming in from lax and 1 hour 5 min to get to international terminal. will I make it easy ? just me and a carry on

Yes, that should be plenty of time. The SkyLink train connects all terminals inside security.

  • T5 - T7

Hi there I arrive from Grand Cayman at 17.00 into T5 with JetBlue on Monday 8 Dec. my onward flight is with BA from T7 at 19.20 that evening. I have checked baggage and the flights were booked separately. From reading the above I guess I should be ok (save for delays etc) but are there any suggestions to help remove possible stress / negate risk of missing onward flight? Thanks in advance

Nothing to recommend other than trying to sit as far forward on your JetBlue flight as possible. Also, the international gates at T5 are new and haven't opened yet, so it's not clear how well they will work. They open Nov 12.

  • DEL to Chicago and Chicago to Toronto terminal transfer
    Nov 8, 2014

I am travelling from Delhi to Chicago and then i need to take connecting flight from terminal T2 to Toronto. I have layover of around 2 hrs.. is 2 hours enough to make terminal transfer and what will be the process? Will i need to do baggage claim and check in again at ORD? Both the flights are booked under one ticket Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you will arrive in T5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk if they are tagged through to YYZ. Then you will take the ATS train from T5 to T2, get your Air Canada boarding pass if you don't already have it, and go through security. It doesn't leave much time to spare but it's possible.
