  • Do I have enough time

I am flying from Phl to ATL then on to MSY all Delta flights. When I reach ATL i only have 30 minutes to reach my gate is this enough time. I know ATL is a large airport.

Yes, but you'll have to hurry. All gates at ATL are connected by the plane train which runs inside security. If you miss your connection, Delta has many flights to New Orleans that you can be rebooked on (unless you're already on the last flight).

Flying from Tupelo, MS (Silver) to Atlanta (Delta) to Pensacola. Very intimidated by Atlanta airport and could use some pointers on where to go. Plan to carry-on bag. Thanks,

Check-in for your flights online before your flight. That way you will have your Delta boarding pass ahead of time. You will arrive in concourse E and likely depart from concourse A, B, C, or D. All concourses are connected beyond security by the plane train. All you have to do is take the plane train from your arrival concourse to your departure concourse and gate after you claim your carry-on bag at the gate (unless it is very small you will have to gate-check it in Tupelo as the Saab 340 aircraft Silver flies have very small overhead bins). If you have a smartphone, you can download the Delta App, which may make things easier.

Thank you sooooo much! Very helpful info:-)

Can you walk from one concourse to another? If I check-in online before my flight and print my boarding pass, is there anything else I will need to do?

Also, will I have to go to the domestic terminal or just from one concourse to another?

It's just one concourse to another, the international "concourses" are just like the other concourses except that they have immigration facilities in the basement for international flights. You can walk through the tunnel between the concourses, but it's faster to take the plane train. No, if you have all your boarding passes you don't have to do anything else.

I am flying from jfk on delta arriving lax at 7.05 my next flight with fiji air is at 9.30 .is that enough time. Do I have to go through srcurity again. How do I go from delta terminal to international terminal . thanks for help in advance

Read my response below except that Delta flights arrive in Terminal 5 (also an easy walk to the TBIT). You will have to go to the Fiji Airways check-in counter (Air Pacific now calls itself Fiji Airways). Your bags may be checked through to Fiji Airways by Alaska if you bought your tickets together. However, if you bought separate tickets you'll have to bring your bags to the Fiji Airways counter in the TBIT. You will then go through security and to your gate. You should have plenty of time. Don't be intimidated by the throngs of people in the TBIT late at night - security lines aren't that bad, they're just waiting for the check-in counters for the REALLY late flights to open.

I am flying from jfk on alaska airlines arriving lax at 7.05. My next flight is at 9.30 on air pacific. Do I have to clear security again? Rebook my luggage? And are two snd half hours enough? How do I go from terminal to terminal?

You will arrive in Terminal 6 and depart from the TBIT. You can take a shuttle or walk (in my opinion it's faster to walk, but it's kind of a long walk).

Also, Alaska Airlines does not fly JFK-LAX. Your flight is probably on American, which means it will arrive in Terminal 4 which is closer to the TBIT.

  • 34 Minute Connection Time, is it legal and will we make it?

We have booked a flight arriving Feb 1st from YYC at 1:44pm connecting in IAH on United and departing for Cancun on United at 2:18pm. Is this even a possible connection?

Yes, it's possible, you will preclear US Immigration in Calgary and arrive in Terminal C and depart from Terminal E which are directly connected. It's not an easy connection by any means but it's certainly possible. Also, United does have later flights to Cancun if you miss your connection.

    Thanks Zap, that certainly helps!

  • flying in from Mykonos to T3 connecting to France T1 and have 90 mins

I am flying into FCO T3 from Mykonos and need to catch another flight from T1 to Bordeaux. I have a 90 min change over time. Do I need to clear security or customs and will 90 mins be enough assuming the flights are on time?

You will not have to go through any immigration or customs since Greece, Italy, and France are all within Schengen. However, I'm pretty sure you will have to go through security once you get to T1. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time but you will have to hurry.

  • Terminal 3 connection time 1 hour

I would be travelling from cleveland to Chicago( AA 3073) and reaching concourse G at 7:00 PM CST . I would need to board the Qatar airways flight to Doha from Terminal 3 ( not sure of the concourse) . The flight departs at 8:00 CST 1) Would 1 hour be sufficient time to catch the Qatar airways flight 2) Which concourse does Qatar airways depart ? 3) Do i need to go through a security check ? 4) Where do i hand over my I 94 form ? Chicago or Cleveland ? I work on H1B visa

The Qatar Airways flight leaves from Concourse L. You will not have to go through security. You will hand over your I-94 as you board the flight in Chicago. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

  • Connection time 1 hr 15 min - Frankfurt
    Jan 6, 2014

I fly out of Houston (IAH) on United to IAD then have 1 hour 15 min until my flight on Lufthansa leaves for Frankfurt. Will I have enough time to make my connection? Will I already have cleared security for international travel in Houston, or will I do so at IAD? I know I'll probably arrive at Concourse D, but then am not sure where to go from there. Appreciate any advice!

There is no special security for International travel on flights departing the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate (in C or D) to your departure gate in B.

Can I get a "gate pass" and walk my elderly mother to the terminal gate?

Probably yes. You have to request it from the check-in counter of her airline.

  • Changing planes within Terminal C?
    Jan 6, 2014

Hi, I am traveling on JetBlue from Washington Dulles to Fort Myers in a few days via Boston and I've noticed that my arrival gate is in a different location of Terminal C (Gates C11-C21) than my departing gate (C25-C36). Will I have to go through security again in order to change planes or will I be allowed to proceed through without that problem?

The two sides of C are connected beyond security.

The address is officially 344 Brewster road. Thanks for any help!

Hello, we are flying from Vienna to Amsterdam and them from Amsterdam to San Francisco. We have 1h for transfer. Is this enough? All flights are KLM. Thanks

Yes, that should be enough time. AMS is made for quick transfers and all you will have to do is go through security at your departure gate.

  • Connecting Flight
    Jan 5, 2014

Delta Vacations booked me on a trip where I only have 51 minutes to make my connecting flight. I'm arriving from another U.S. city into Atlanta & then have said time to make another Delta flight that is going to Bermuda. Can someone help me as to what to expect? Will this be enough time to change planes? Any idea how far I will have to run on foot from one gate to another? P.S. I plan to bring a carry-on bag only so I won't be checking any luggage.

You will arrive into one of the several concourses and depart from concourse E/F. All concourses at ATL are connected beyond security by the plane train and you can reach them within 20 minutes. If your first flight is on-time you will have enough time.

Hi, We'll arrive from st lucia with JetBlue and then heading out for London with virgin.. All at terminal 4. Do we have to pick up our baggage, clear customers and re-check though it's the same terminal? If, how long will it take to go through?

Yes, you have the procedure correct. Immigration and customs will take 30-60 minutes.

  • Connecting from IcelandAir to Alaska tonight -- 1:50 enough time?
    Jan 5, 2014

My flight from iceland arrives at 4:40pm and I booked a flight with Alaska to PDX at 6:30. Is that enough time to clear customs, transfer to the right terminal and go through security again? I'm not checking any baggage.

Yes, that should be enough time, especially without checked bags.

Thank you. I just made it through everything in about 20 minutes. Good thing I hold a USA passport - the lines for foreigners were out of control!
