  • Connection time from terminal C to terminal A
    Sep 6, 2013
    4
We're flying with United from Hamilton (Bermuda) to Montreal (Canada), with a 1h15 layover in Newark. We land in Terminal C and will be departing from Terminal A. Will we have to go through customs and get our luggage? Is this enough time? Thank you!

I forgot to mention that we will be arriving at Terminal C a saturday at 5h11 pm and we will be departing from Terminal A at 6h29 pm. Thanks!

Yes you need, on arrival at Newark Airport, go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance & re-check-in bags where indicated. Thereafter you will need to take the AirTrain to Terminal A (2 stops) where you arrive in the pre-security area and need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. TA has Gate Area A1 (gates A10-18); Gate Area A2 (gates A20-28); and Gate Area A3 (gates A30-39). This is high season & your time may be extremely tight.

mojul, again, is incorrect. Flights from Bermuda preclear immigration and customs in Bermuda. You just have to go between your gates as your arrival from Bermuda will just be like a domestic flight. United runs a secure-side shuttle between terminals if you have to transfer between them.

After going through customs and re-check-in luggage, is it still in the post-security area? Is the shuttle bus still available?

  • UA Int'l Arvl Fm DXB To IAD/Continue UA To DAY

I'm a little worried about this connection time... UA arrival from DXB is at 0610, dunno concourse, UA departure to DAY is 0817, same ticket. Do I understand correctly that I will be able to go through immigration, collect checked bags, then through customs, then recheck bags, then TSA, and all within concourse C?? Is that 2 hour 7 minute time frame enough time to do this?? SO appreciate the guidance provided here!!

Your transfer time should suffice, if arrival at IAD is not delayed: After re-check-in of bags, International arrivals who continue their journey cannot use the AeroTrain, but need to take the Mobile Lounge shutttle to either gates D1-32 and H-gates. The shuttle bus to the D gates is located on the Main Terminal's lower level (to the right of the passenger walkway to A& B gates. C gates C1-30 & D gates D1-32 are connected by a walkway.

Thanks much mojul13 - and do I understand correctly that there's a "re-check-in" of bags counter of sorts in the basement of Concourse C? Meaning that I would not need to drag bags to a check-in counter in the main concourse?

That is correct. you can re-check your bags in C.

You guys RAWK here, did you know that? I know it takes time and effort to research and answer all our questions..... just wanted to let you know that it's deeply appreciated, and that you have a grateful audience out here! Kudos!

  • Connecting to Air France within 40 minutes
    Jul 22, 2013

How will I make a Delta flight from GSP to Air France within 43 minutes?

Both airlines serve in the McNamara Terminal, which has Concourses A, B C with corresponding gates. Concourse A, reached from level 2, has 1.5 miles of moving walkways . Additionally, the Express Tram stops at the South station near gate A11, the Terminal station in the center near the water feature, and the North station near gate A67. Concourse A has to the left gates A38-A1; to the right gates A40-78, and at its center the tunnel connecting to Concourse B to the left and Concourse C to the right. Concourse B at right has gates B1-21on opposite sides. Concourse C at left has C1 through C43 on opposite sides. An elevator between Concourses B & C leads to the Lower Level gates C1 to C7.

  • Time required for terminal transfer

Southwest flight lands at 9. Delta flt leaves at 10:05. No baggage to check. Enough time?

At PHX, SW serves T4, DL serves T3; to get from T3 to T4, you need to leave the secure area and catch the shuttle bus at the curb. At T4 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. Hurry!

  • Connection Terminal D to Terminal A

I will be arriving United flight (from Houston) into terminal D at 5:39pm and need to connect to a 6:45pm US Air flight to Venice, Italy. What's the best way to get to Terminal A from D, how long will it take and can I avoid having to go back through security?

    1. If you booked your flight for both airlines on one ticket, your bags should be transferred (but make sure United & US Airways belong to different Alliances). 2. TD through TA are connected by moving walkways - no need to go through security check. One hour should suffice.

  • Quickest way to get from C gates to D gates
    Jul 22, 2013

What is the quickest way to get from C gates to D gates for a connecting flight? Is it quicker to just walk it on the same level or take the train 2 levels down?

At SEA, Concourses A, B, C & D are connected at post-security, enabling passengers to freely move around without having to leave the secured area.

Just walk, it's a very simple connection.

  • Lockers?
    Jul 22, 2013

I have a longer layover in Paris and I am planning to go look around for a while in the city, but I want to make sure if there are lockers available at the airport to store hand luggage until I return? If there is, where is it in the airport and any idea of costs? THANKS!

  • AlItalia to Air France
    Jul 22, 2013

Hi, I'm traveling from Rome to US and connecting via CDG. I believe I don't have to change terminals as I am arriving via Alitalia and departing with Air France booked through deltavacations, but have 1 hour in between to connect. Do I need to go through customs if it's the same terminal (2F) ? Thanks.

At CDG Alitalia uses T2D, F & G, while Air France uses T2C, D, E F. If You arrive at 2F (Schengen /domestic flights). Your ticket should indicate which terminal you depart from, T2C, T2D, T2E or T2F. For transfers open: aeroportsdeparis.fr/ADP/en-GB/Passagers/Access-maps-car-parks/guide-connection-flight/ - click on your arriving and on your departing terminals; then follow instructions below it for connections.

  • 30 minute connection time
    Jul 21, 2013

IIs 30 minutes enough time to connect from Alaska Airlines # 2294 (operated by Horizon Air) to JetBlue # 908? Flights are booked separately and there is no luggage.

If you check in online before you leave, it's barely enough time, but there's zero room for error and if you miss your connection you won't be reaccomodated.

Thank you for the reply. In what direction does the underground train travel? In other words, does it go from the North Satellite to Gates D, then C, then back to the North Satellite or does it travel from North Satellite to Gates C, then D, then back to the North Satellite?

What do you think, is 3 hours enough time to transfer from International Terminal to Terminal 3? I arrive at 16.15 from Frankfurt and depart at 19.30 from Terminal 3 to HNL.

Yes, that should be enough time.

We are flying in from SF and transferring to a flight to Anchorage, all on Alaska. One of our party will be getting wheelchair to assist. We only have an hour between flights. Do you know if we change concourse and if we will have enough time?

Alaska operates from a few different concourses. You won't know until the day of your flight what gates you will use, but you will have enough time.
