I have 40 minutes to catch my International KLM / Delta flight to Amsterdam is this enough time

If your first flight is domestic and on-time you will have enough time. You just have to take the Plane Train from your arrival concourse to E/F.

  • Is 40 minute layover enough?

We fly from Jacksonville, NC via CLT, NC on US Airways. From CLT we fly to Philadelphia to catch a flight to Manchester, England. We have a 40 minute layover @ CLT before flying onto Philly, then the international flight from Philly. Is that enough time (40 mins) to change planes?

40 minutes should be enough in Charlotte if your flight is on-time - it's a fairly small airport by hub standards.

Hello! I'm EU Citizen and i'll be returning to JFK Terminal 5 from Nassau (with Jetblue). I have a time gap of 2hrs15min to get on the Austrian Airlines flight to vienna on Terminal 1. is that enough time? do i need to go thru immigration & security again? thank you

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Nassau. Jetblue and Austrian do not have an interline agreement, so you will have to claim your baggage and take it on the AirTrain/Air Terminals Train to Terminal 1. You will really have to hurry and hope your flight from Nassau is on-time. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 1 after you check your bags.

    Thank you very much!

i will be traveling to denver via dallas airport with 4 hrs layover in november. my flight reaches at 9 am in terminal d. could you please guide me the process from exiting the plane. is it the immigration first to clear ? and will my baggage claim be in the same terminal ? will there be signs indicating how to move around. and for the re check in of bags, will it be in the same area where im picking it up ? and after i finsh with the customs too, i need to go to terminal A for the AA flight to denver, do i take the skylink for tht ? how long approx would all this take ?

You will go through immigration, claim your baggage, go through customs, and then re-check your bags. You do NOT need to go to Terminal A for your AA flight to Denver. There is AA check-in in Terminal D that you can use. You can then take the skylink to your departure terminal, which you will not know until the day of your flight.

thnk u for ur reply. will the baggage claim be near the gate i exit from the plane ? so i must do the check in in the AA counter in terminal D itself and thn only go to the terminal d for my departure right ? is the terminal d allowable for eating spots and wifi ?

The baggage claim will be in immigration, it will be kind of a walk. You will go back through security in Terminal D after you check in with AA, your flight will probably not depart from D, so you will take the skylink train to your departure terminal. There is food after security in every terminal.

yes sorry, I meant my departure is from the terminal a not from d. Will I be given any information on the plane or in the airport from which gate im supposed to collect the baggage from ? and will there be anyone for assistance to help me with the bags ? is there a trolley service ? and I believe il be given my boarding pass at the aa check in counter right ? appreciate ur reply.

You will be funneled into immigration when you arrive in Dallas and the baggage claim will be easy to find. You shouldn't need a trolley - you won't have to take your bags that far (just through customs, then upstairs in Terminal D to check them with American). Yes, you will get your AA boarding pass there. Also be aware that you will have to pay a baggage fee to check your bags with American since that portion of your flight is a domestic itinerary.

Thnk u for ur reply, I have two suitcases, so how would I be able to carry them until customs and check in,. And my ticket clearly says that I can carry two pieces of each 23kg until Denver, so why should I pay extra then ?

I am flyimg AA from St.Louis and have 1 hour to connect to an AA flight to Toronto. All in terminal 3 do I have to go through security again and do I have enough time?

Yes, you should have enough time if your flight from St. Louis is on-time. No, you will not have to go through security.

How long does it take to get from Southwest in Terminal 1 to Terminal 3? Any route?

I would leave 2-3 hours between connections. you MAY be able to take the train to the D gates and then the other train to T3 from the D gates. However, there is also a shuttle.

we are flying to JFK from CUN, have to collect bags and re-check in for flight to Europe. is two hours enough? thank you!

What airlines are you flying? Even on the same airline that will be very difficult.

from CUN to JFK with aeromexico, from JFK to OSL with Norwegian

I highly doubt you will have enough time for that connection - you should not have bought it. You will have to go through US immigration, claim your bags, go through customs, then take your bags upstairs and check in with Norwegian. Unless your Aeromexico flight is very early you will have a hard time doing that in enough time.

thank you for your response - can you estimate how much time do we need?

  • Connecting from UK to Canada at EWR without security?
    Sep 26, 2013

I am flying into EWR Terminal B with a United Flight and then on to Canada also with a United flight from Terminal A. I have 2.5hrs but am concerned about EWR delays. Will I be able to check luggage all the way from UK to Canada and transfer from Terminal B to A without going through security/customs/immigration?

You will check your bags through to Canada but you will have to claim them in US immigration in Terminal B and then re-check after clearing US customs at the re-check desk. Every person entering the US from abroad has to go through US immigration, even if they are transferring to a third country. After you check your bag you will have to take the AirTrain to your departure terminal. Also be sure to check your flight status as many United and United Express flights also use Terminal C.

We have 2 couples traveling from Heathrow to Newark (flight UA28) with a connection to Columbus (Flight UA3859). My concern being they only have a 90 minute lay-over. What tips can I share with them to ensure they don't miss their flight.

That's very tight for such a connection. The only tip I can offer is that they can pay for Economy Plus to sit as far in front of the plane as they can. However, it appears to me that they should have more than 90 minutes as it looks like currently UA28 arrives around 12:30 PM and UA3859 leaves at 2:50 PM, meaning that they would have around 2 hours 20 minutes, which is more doable.

I Am flying on Virgin Atlantic into JFK Terminal 4, I land at 12:15 and need to go through immigration collect baggage, Transfer to Terminal 2 for a delta flight, and check in. My connecting flight leaves at 14:55, is this going to be enough time?

You have enough time for transfer: Take your bags after customs clearance onto the 'Airline Terminals' train (follow signs), running every few minutes, but counter-clockwise: After boarding it at T4, it will stop at T3, and get you to T2, where you go to the departure level and check in your bags with Delta, go through security check and on to your gate.

  • Connection between terminal 3 and 5

Hi, I am arriving from Beirut, Lebanon on Alitalia terminal 3 at 11:10 am and have to catch a flight on delta to New York from terminal 5 at 12:50 pm. I am going to the US on a tourist visa. Will the time be enough to transi?

Hmm, I don't know. You will have to go through EU immigration in T3 first, then take a bus, which runs on Italian time (no schedule), and then check in, go through security, and a security interview, which I suspect may take longer than usual since you're coming from Lebanon. It will be pretty tough.

Flying from Birmingham to San Diego on United changing planes with 21 minutes between flights. The airline changed my flight with this new time. Is it even possible?

It's possible but it will depend on your first flight getting in on-time or preferably early and running. If you call United they should put you on a later flight to SAN or earlier flight from BHM free of charge due to the schedule change. Or, alternatively they could re-book you to connect in Denver if that works better.

How's the transfer from terminal (where UA(/domestic arrives) to intl terminal? Do you have locker services at Tom Bradley Intl Terminal? if possible i'd like to put one big one not to carry to Den at all. Pls respond asap. Tks.

There are no lockers at LAX. It is approximately a 15 minute walk from Terminal 6/7 to the TBIT.
