  • Transfer from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3
    Feb 23, 2013

Is one hour between arrival time at terminal 2 and departure at terminal 3 enough to make it.

You can either walk or take the free shuttle bus outside; at T3 you need to go through security check. For more information open www.ifly.com/fll, then then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • How long to clear immigration?

How long does it take at O"Hare from the time a plane lands (from Manchester) to clear immigration and walk out the arrival door?

It depends on what runway you land on and how soon you're able to get off the aircraft, but usually somewhere between 20-50 minutes with I'd say about 35-40 being normal.

how long is walk from C gates to Terminal E gates & if I'm connecting on UAL flight do I go through security?

At IAH, the above-ground TerminaLink train, which starts its service at the Terminal A station, connects terminals A, B, C, D/E inside security and runs a continuous loop. You can also walk Between C & E gates - I suggest you open www.ifly.com/iah then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • there's no transit info

I want to find out how to schedule for my upcoming fight and neither the airport nor the transit company provide any info other than Terminal A. Guess what, there are FOUR Terminal. You'd think that the airport could figure that out and provide some info!

The iFly site for Boston shows transportation options at www.ifly.com/bos; you can also click on on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS at top left and scroll down to the detailed text for transfers, terminal layout, gates, etc.

  • 90 minute connection
    Feb 22, 2013

My wife and I just received our tickets from our travel agent and I need to know if we can make my connection. I am arriving at TBIT on Air Tahiti at 10:25AM. I leave from Terminal 2 on Air Canada at 12:00 Noon! I called the airline and my luggage is definitevely NOT checked through so have to pickup and recheck at AC counter in addition to security screening. I have a NEXUS card so I can use a Global Entry kiosk instead of the regular line up at immigration, it would be my first time using one in the USA though so I do not know if it takes two minutes like in Canada instead of 30-60 minutes in the regular line up. The only place I might have to wait too long is baggage claim. Does anyone have any idea how long I would have to wait for my luggage pickup after going through the fast Global Entry immigration? Does anyone know if is possible to have luggage gate checked with Air Tahiti so we do not have to wait at the pickup belt? Thanks to all. This comment was moved from General to Terminal Connections.

I cannot see that you could make the transfer at LAX in 90 mins. As an international arrival at the US, you need to go through passport check, pick up your bags, go through security check & take them to your connecting terminal. You need to count on at least 35-50 mins for arrivals procedure; thereafter you need to exit the large terminal with your bags in tow, and proceed to Terminal 2, where you need to go to the departures level to check in your bag with Air Canada, before you go through security check and on to your connecting gate. Another problem is the time to get to T2: Bradley Terminal is in the center of a u-shaped terminal arrangement, your T2 is at the left side, center, while traffic flows the opposite way: You may take a taxi, or the the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins. Starting from TBIT, the next stops are at Terminals T4 –T8, around the bend to T1, T2 - 7 stops or 18 mins. Or you can walk to T2 taking about 10 minutes.

Hello, my 17 year old daughter will be arriving Terminal A from BCN (Spain) to PHL at 13:35 and will have to take the bus to Terminal F to connect to CAK that departures at 15:45. Will she have enough time to pass customs, take the bus to Teminal F and go through security?. I'm afraid of long lines. Could I have the help of a stewardess to speed her way through customs so she doesn't miss her connection or you think she will be fine ?. Thank you very much

On arrival at PHL, Terminal A-West, she needs to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag - thereafter allow at least 35-45 mins to connecting terminal F via shuttle bus. A 17-year old does not need help. She has enough time for transfer.

    Thank you

  • Terminal A to terminal B

We arrive at Terminal A24 and depart 50 minutes later at Terminal B7. How far is that.

They are adjacent concourses, one stop on the plane train. Should take about 10-15 minutes to go between them.

we are arriving at ohare on Flight:UA5322 from fort wayne indiana, we then need to connect to Flight: UA938 to london england....we have 40 minuites, can we make it ??

It's possible but barely. Run. It will take 15 to 20 minutes to get from concourse F where your FWA flight will probably arrive into and Concourse C where most London flights depart from.

  • Claim baggage if staying in terminal?

I'm arriving on Southwest Airlines at LAX in Terminal 1, then getting on US Airways which is in the same terminal. Can I get Southwest Airlines to take my checked-in luggage to US Airways so I don't have to leave the terminal and go through the check point again?

No, Southwest does not interline baggage with any other airline. You will have to claim your baggage and re-check it with US Airways.

We are flying BWI to CLT and on to Rome, Italy (FCO), Our return will be the reverse. We are at a loss as to what are adequate connection times for the outbound and inbound flights considering changing planes but particularly customs at CLT.

Outbound, 1 hr is sufficient and 90 minutes would be safe. Returning, I'd want 2 hours because of immigration which can get quite crowded at CLT during the time when all the European flights arrive.

Thank you for the reply. Together with other replies, we can piece together what to expect.

  • Departures 3 also access to D gates
    Feb 21, 2013

This article says Departures 3 provides access to F, G, H and M gates. I would like to point out that it also provides access to D and E gates (for example British Airways check-in is at row 17 in Departures 3; upon going through passport control into the airside, BA passengers must walk quite a long way around to the D pier, from which many BA flights depart, and which is actually situated behind Departures 2).

Much appreciate your input! Thank you. Will pass on info.

  • Flight connection with Condor Airlines

I bought a flight from Milan to Anchorage that includes a transfer in Frankfurt (1 h. 40 m. stopover) I don't have to collect my luggage, but I heard from other travellers I won't get in Milan my boarding pass for the second leg of my flight (Frankfurt-Anchorage). Could someone let me know what I have to go or to do in Frankfurt airport? Have I to exit from the security aerea? Is the time connection enough? Thank you in advance for your help! Patrizia

If you bought one ticket for both legs of your journey, you should not need another boarding pass at Frankfurt. You simply transfer to your connecting Concourse /gate. Condor uses Concourse C. As I don't know which airline you arrive at, I suggest you open www.ifly.com/fra and click on "Terminal Map" under QUICK LINKS, then scroll down to the detailed text, including transfers.

  • Transfer time

We arrive at FRA on an Air Canada flight from Toronto at 7:00 am and leave on a Lufthansa City Line flight for Florence at 7:55 am. Can anyone tell me where we arrive vs. where we leave and the best way to make this connection?

At FRA both airlines use Terminal 1; AC uses Concourse B, LH uses Concourse A. Level 3 of T1 is the Pier /Concourse level with Piers/ Concourses A, B & Z, connected via transfer tunnel. The SkyLine train also runs between Concourses A & B in the secured area. You have enough time.

Thanks very much for the help.
