Bought a tiny sandwich and juice. It cosy $15! Prices are not clearly labelled. It was the worst sandwich of my life. Tasted like someone vomited between two pieces of bread. That's fine but it should be clearly labelled as a vomit sandwich for $9.50.

Hi, I am flying with SN 8838 from Orlando to Washington Dulles, arriving at 16:22, and leaving at 17:10 to Brussels with SN 8802. Do you think 50 minutes will be enough to make the connection ? Thank you in advance !

Brussels Airline is uses the main terminal. On arrival look at the overhead screens to find your connecting gate. You have enough time.

Note that SN8838 is United 326 and SN8802 is United 140. Both flights will operate from the C/D concourse at IAD. If your first flight is on-time you will have enough time.

Hi, I am flying LH7465 from Oklahoma City to Washington and then LH417 to Frankfurt. I have 1hr layover. Is it enough time to catch this connecting flight? Thanks in advance

LH7465 is actually United Express flight 3738. It will arrive into C/D and your Lufthansa flight will depart from B. You will probably want to take the Aerotrain between gates. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time, but you'll have to hurry.

I am flying in on US Airways into Terminal 1. How long will it take to get to the BART Station?

The AirTrain connects the Terminals and to the Bart system. Terminal 2 has a pedestrian bridge to the AirTrain, connecting to BART system; International Terminal's AirTrain station is near Boarding Area G, and Terminal 1's AirTrain station is near boarding area B. Can't tell you how long it takes.

My flight UA 6493 from MSP lands at 16.18 (no info on concourse) on Saturday. Next flight UA 974 to Geneva takes off at 17.25 (Concourse D). Do I have enough time (1hour 7 min) to connect ?

IAD does not show the Concourse /gate for your UA arrival - United uses Concourses A, B, C & D with corresponding gates. Note that Concourses A,B, & C can be reached via underground AeroTrain (serving A gates 1-32, B gates 35-79 & C gates 1-30, Concourse D is not served by the train, but connects by short moving walkway to the C gates. You have enough transfer time.

I believe the MSP flight will likely arrive into D as well. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

We are going to fly from Washington DC Dulles Airport through FCO (by United UA966), continuing to Singapore Changi airport (by Singapore airlines SQ365). We have about 2.5 hours transit time. Our questions are: Can the luggage be checked through to Singapore (both UA and SQ are star alliance)? We are Indonesian Nationality, do we have to have a Schengen visa for passing through Rome FCO airport? Appreciate any response.

If your tickets were bought on the same reservation, yes, your bags can be checked through. I believe you will need a schengen visa as I do not believe FCO has a sterile non-schengen connection area like some European airports.

Indeed your UA & SQ are members of the Star Alliance. However, as a non-Schengen arrival at FCO (UA is in Terminal 5 - designated for US & Israel flights) you need to go through passport check before proceeding via special shuttle to your connecting SQ flight at Terminal 3. T3 has Boarding Areas D (gates D1-10) and Area H (gates H6-19). You have plenty of time for transfer.

Your arrival will be processed in Terminal 3 - you don't have to take any shuttle. No arriving flights use Terminal 5.

Thank you for your reminder about tickets have to reserved/issued together. We will check with UA & SQ.

Is Lufthansa airlines in the Bradley international terminal? And if I have someone meeting me there where would be the best place to meet? And if we have to transfer to Southwest what is the best way Thanks in advance

Lufthansa does use the Tom Bradley International Terminal. To transfer to Southwest you can either take the airline connections bus on the lower level or take a somewhat long walk clockwise around the circle (opposite the flow of traffic). I would budget at least 3 hours between the scheduled arrival of the Lufthansa flight and a scheduled departure on Southwest.

    1. At LAX, Lufthansa uses Bradley (TBIT or TB) terminal, while Southwest uses Terminal 1. The Bradley terminal is in the center of the U-shaped terminal arrangement (at left Terminals 3, 2, 1, at right Terminals 4 to 8, served by the LAX bus Route A on lower arrival level island in front of each terminal, under sign 'LAX shuttle airline connection', which runs every 12-15 mins - next stops T4 through T8, then over to T1 - 6 stops or about 15 mins. International arrivals need to go through passport check, pick up bags, go through customs clearance & (if LH will transfer bags to SW), re-check in bags where indicated - if not take bags to connecting T1 and check them in with SW). At T1 you need to go through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. You can meet at either TBIT or T1 in the Arrivals Hall, near the information center.

FYI Lufthansa will not transfer your bags to Southwest. Southwest does not allow interline bags from any other airline.

  • Garuda flight to Alitalia flight
    May 23, 2013

Hi, I will be flying into Amsterdam on a Garuda flight coming from Jakarta Indonesia at 7:20am. I need to connect to an Alitalia flight going to Rome, which departs at 12:30pm. Can anyone advise on what I need to do and which terminal I should go to? Do I need to clear customs and get my luggage? And can I check in for my Alitalia flight earlier, and do I have time in between to visit downtown amsterdam?

On arrival at AMS, you need to go through non-Schengen passport check. AMS does not list its airline gates; however, Schiphol Airport has one large terminal with 'Piers' (Concourses B-D, D, E, F, G-H & M). Gate-to-Gate transfers: B & C gates are at the very right end of the bow-shaped terminal; north of it are the C gates arranged in a Y-shape; around the bend are the E gates, followed in the center by the F gates; right thereafter is entry to the G, H & M gates (G gates are to the right, H & M gates to the left). NOTE: Arrivals 1 & 2 areas lead up to Departures 1 & 2; and Arrivals 3 & 4 lead up to Departure 3. Departures 1 uses the B, C & D gates; Departures 2 uses the E gates; Departure 3 uses F, G, H & M gates. (Arrivals 1 & 2 and Arrivals 3 & 4 are on opposite sides of the center.) Inquire at the Information counter as to feasibility of leaving the Airport.

I am flying from Frankfurt to FCO on Luftansa flight (booked through United) that arrives ar 2:05pm. On a separate ticket, I will by flying to Olbia on Meridiana. I'll have to check a bag for the Olbia flight. Will I have time to go through the passport check, customs, and check my luggage with Meridiana in order to make a 4:45 flight to Olbia? Or should I book a later flight to Olbia at 6:15pm? (I haven't booked that flight yet.) Can someone describe what I will need to do when I arrive at FCO? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

You will not have to go through any passport control or customs in FCO as both Germany and Italy are in Schengen. You will arrive in Terminal 3 and depart from Terminal 1. The best way to get between these terminal is probably to walk, but it will be a bit of a long walk. You should have enough time assuming your bags come out reasonably quickly. However, if you want to be safe, book the later flight. It's Italy. Things move at a slower pace there.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I start my flight from San Francisco, then connect in Frankfurt to FCO. So I will have to go through passport and customs at FCO, as I originated the trip from the US, right? Or will I have to do that in Frankfurt when I land before connecting to FCO? Thanks again for your advise!

You will go through EU immigration in Frankfurt.

  • is a 56 minute transfer enough time?
    May 23, 2013

I am traveling from MSP>JFK>SVO (Moscow) on Friday, May 24th. I am flying Delta all the way. I should arrive at JFK at 15:14 and depart for Moscow at 16:10, which is only a 56 minute layover. My flight is scheduled to arrive in Terminal 2 and depart from Terminal 4. I plan on taking the Delta shuttle so I do not have to go through security. How much time do you think this will take?

You will have enough time if your first flight is on-time, but JFK is delay prone, especially that time of day, so anything could happen.

Coming to Delta for a flight to PBI West Palm Beach, do I have the person bringing me drop me off at Domestic or direct to Internationnqshgal terminal?

Does the "planetrain" go all the way from T to Concourse F?

Yes, the plane train goes to every concourse, T to F. Since PBI is domestic, get dropped off at the Domestic terminal.

Hello, I will be traveling from SFO to BCN with a stop over in JFK on March 29th. I would like to know if I will need to claim bags at JFK and re-check bags? I'll be flying Delta from SFO to JFK and Delta again from JFK to BCN. Thanks so much for your help!

No, you will not have to do anything with your bags in JFK on your way TO Spain.

  • 60 minute connection time

I will be coming from Paris to the US and have a 60 minute connection in Amsterdam. I will be flying KLM. Is that 60 minutes enough time? My ticket does not give gate numbers.

    You have enough time for transfer at AMS: Arrivals 1 & 2 areas lead up to Departures 1 & 2; and Arrivals 3 & 4 lead up to Departure 3. Departures 1 uses the B, C & D gates; Departures 2 uses the E gates; Departure 3 uses F, G, H & M gates. (Arrivals 1 & 2 and Arrivals 3 & 4 are on opposite sides of the center.)
