  • connection time to Lima

I will travel from Seoul Korea to Peru by AA flights and have transferring in DFW. I only have 1hr and 30 mints to transfer. Will I have enough time ?

Yes, that should be enough time but just barely. You should not have to claim your bags when going through customs because you are on an International to International itinerary, so that will save some time. Both of your flights will be in Terminal D.

  • Quebec (YQB)-Melbourne (MEL) via EWR and LAX

Flying from Quebec, Canada to Melbourne, Australia via EWR and LAX - same booking all the way through with UAL. Am wondering: - no pre-border clearance at YQB, so will I have to go through US Customs at EWR or LAX? - flight to LAX arrives T7 and flight for Australia departs same terminal, will I have to retrieve my bags for US customs then go through check-in again or do they have a bag-drop there after customs? Layover is 2:10 at EWR and 3:50 at LAX. Return trip is through same airports but UA99 ex-MEL arrives TBIT and my connection to EWR flies out from T7 2h10 later (figure it should be enough to retrieve bags, do customs, then do security again at T7). Appreciate any info on this.

On your way to MEL, in EWR you will arrive in Terminal C, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. In LAX all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. On the return trip you will go through the US Customs and immigration process in LAX. All your connection times should be sufficient.

Thanks very much for that info, Zap. It's much appreciated.

Hello I am travelling to mumbai via newark from sfo. I have a morning flight at 8.20 with a layover of 4 hrs. i need to know whether I will be starting my international journey from SFO itself or I need to recheck in Newark again. Again I'll be travelling back from mumbai to SFO two weeks later with the same way with 2 hrs connecting time.I need to know how much time is needed for connecting in Newark to SFO flight considering have to complete the formalilties for Advance Parole in Newark. Thnks.

On your way to Mumbai all you have to do in Newark is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your connection times are long enough.

thank you I need to know is 2 hrs time enough at Newark airport to catch my connecting flight for SFO on my return journey. I have to complete Advance Parole formalities. those take a tad bit longer if there is long wait. I am not sure of Newark airport. SFO has quite a crowd hence was concerned.

Yes, that should be enough time. If you do miss your connection it is not that bad because United has lots of other EWR-SFO flights throughout the day.

Flying in from SFO to Chicago, then Chicago to Berlin. I have 1 hour layover. I need to get from Concourse L to H - will this be enough time? American to Air Berlin.

Yes, that should be enough time. It's about a 10-15 minute walk.

We will be coming from GCM to IAH on United 1495 at 7:46 PM and connecting to SFO on United 712 at 9 PM. What terminals will our arrivals/connections be in and is 1 hour 14 minutes enough time to get through Immigration and make our connection? We are US citizens. Thanks for your feedback!

You will arrive in Terminal E and depart from Terminal C or E (likely C). 1 hr 14 mins is 16 mins under the minimum connection time for International to Domestic. You can try to rebook but I doubt there will be a later flight to SFO.

  • International connections at Miami

Hello, I am flying from Manchester to Heathrow to Miami and finally onto The Bahamas. My main question is will I have to collect my luggage at Miami before customs or if I ask for it to be checked all the way to the Bahamas will it just go straight there? Thank you for your help.

If you are flying American on both of your flights, AA has a process at MIA where bags of passengers on International to International connections do not have to be collected. Check with the agent in your origin for more details.

Thank you for your reply. Oops I forgot to say that my first two flights are with British Airways and the flight to the Bahamas is with American Airlines. Do you think I might have to collect my bag then? Thanks again.

In theory, no, you will not have to, British Airways flights are supposed to follow AA procedures in Miami.

hello, i will be on United flight from ICN Seoul to SFO to Sacramento. i arrive in SFO 11:30am then 1:55pm united express/skywest flight to Sacramento. will 2hr 25min enough time to make it? i do have two checked bags. after going through custom where do i go to check-in my bag again? my flight is skywest united express. Thank you for your help!

You will be able to re-check your bags immediately after you clear US Customs at the transfer desk. Then you will go to the departure level, through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time.

Thank you for the answer! looks like skywest is gate 84. how far is that from customs? do i need to take a train or is that walking distance? Thank you again

    It is walking distance.

Hi arriving from Jamaica at terminal 3 Jet blue 4:35pm and connecting to silver to departing at 6:05 to Jax. First time doing connection flights is this enough time and how do i get from terminal to terminal. help

It's really pushing it. You'll have to take the Rental Car shuttle to the Consolidated rental facility and then take the walkway to T1.

since its international arrival its terminal 4 so how bad is it from there. what is a tram?

There are no trams in FLL. I didn't mention a tram. Taking the shuttle bus and walking to T1 should take 20 minutes or so from the time you exit customs.

Dec 14/14 We arrive from Regina,sk into denver and have 1hr&15min to catch next connection to Chicago. I understand we will need to clear US costoms and go thru security again. Will this be enough time? All flights are with United. I understad Denver has electronic kiosks to help with this...

Yes, it should be enough time but it doesn't leave much time to spare for delays.

We have this same situation only its 1hr 28mins. Just curious how you made out? Was it enough time?

  • Terminal 4 and 1 Connection

I have two separate flights booked. I have a Delta flight from New Orleans to JFK (Terminal 4) that arrives at 3:35PM and a Alitalia flight ("operated by Delta") to Milan (Terminal 1) that departs at 5:51PM. Is this enough time? Do I need to go through security again to get to Terminal 1? I will not be checking in a bag.

If your flight to Milan is operated by Delta it will not leave from Terminal 1, it will leave from Terminal 4. Your flight from New Orleans will likely arrive in Terminal 2. If your flight to Milan is indeed operated by Delta you can just take the Delta shuttle bus from T2 to T4 inside security after arrival in JFK. Be sure to check in online for both flights before leaving New Orleans.

Thanks for your help! I just checked online and I'll be arriving at Terminal 4 and also departing from Terminal 4. Would I have to leave the terminal and go to the ticketing area in order to pick up my ticket though?

You don't have to go to the ticketing area if you check in online.

I'm traveling to London from LA via NY. Do I have to pic up bags in JFK and recheck them again?

No, you do not assuming you purchased your tickets together. You do not go through US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US.

My Mom's flight is from Terminal B (Air India 4.30pm) and My Flight is from Terminal C (United 6.45pm). I want help my Mom to board flight, can i enter Terminal B and then go to Terminal C ?

Yes, you should be able to. United has a shuttle bus that leaves from the B3 concourse to Terminal C. I don't know which concourse Air India uses.

    Thank you so much

  • Arrive Terminal A and Meeting Group at Terminal E--is it possible?

I'm flying in to Terminal A, and meeting a group who are flying in international to Terminal E. I have to claim my luggage and meet them in Terminal E. Is that possible? How long will it take?

It's possible. You have to take a shuttle or walk straight across all the parking garages. I would estimate you'd be in Terminal E 30-40 minutes after you arrive in Terminal A.

  • from Amsterdam via Atlanta to Puerto Rico

will have a flight on Sat, Nov, 15th from AMS, flight DL0073, ar. ATL 02.12 p.m, departure to San Jose with DL 0525, dep. 04:55 p.m. Have to clear our baggage before we take the flight to Puerto Rico and how can we change terminals. We are from Gemany

You don't have to change terminals. You will arrive in concourse E/F, go through US Immigration in the lower level of E, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the plane train to your departure concourse. You have plenty of time.

I am arriving on US Airways into BOS (Terminal B) at 8.15pm, have an international connection on Emirates Airlines to Dubai (Terminal C) departing 10.25 pm. Have checked in bags. Do I stand a chance of making it?

Yes, that should be enough time as long as your first flight is on-time.
