  • Terminal's Transfer

I'm arriving on friday 27 with Alitalia flight AZ604 at 15,30 terminal 1, than transfer to Delta flight 2454 to Denver (which terminal?) at 19,00. How can I recognize Air Train transit terminals? And in which direction, will be going? Terminal 1-2-3-4? or in the other direction?Thank you

    1. On arrival at Terminal 1 (T1) of JFK Airport, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bags where indicated. 2. Thereafter, follow signs to the 'Airline Terminals Train' (marked on JFK's maps in yellow) running from T1 to T8, T7, T5, T4 & T2/3). You need to get to T2 (Delta's domestic terminal with gates C60-70). On arrival at T2, you need to go through security check before proceeding to your gate. No time to waste!

    Thank you very much.

can people travel from international use the above ground transportation so they don't need to go through security again for the connecting flight? Is the above ground transportation easy to find for an non-English speaking person? Thanks!

At IAH, International Arrivals arrive either at Terminals D or E. From there they go through secure corridors, walk across the sky bridges to adjoining Federal Inspection Services (FIS), where they will claim baggage & clear U.S. Customs. If continuing your journey, re-check in your bags at the recheck counters and proceed to the Arrivals Lobby, which has an escalator down to the Inter-Terminal Train taking you to your connecting terminal.

Arriving in terminal 8 - departing from terminal 6, can I walk through to terminal 6 without having to go through security?

Unfortunately you need to exit T8 and walk to the left, past T7 & to T6, where you will need to go through security check again.

That is 100% INCORRECT. Terminals 8 and 6 are connected beyond security. frsep, stop posting false information.

ZAP, Thank you for clarifying. I assume that the walk through is well marked with signs? Thanks again for your help.

Yes, the signs just say "gates 60-69" or something like that, not "Terminal 6"

can i walk from terminal A-West to TB and how long will it take....i have a connecting flight and a one hour forty minute lay over is that enough

At this time of the year your transfer time should be enough: On arrival at Terminal A-West, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. Allow at least 35-45 minutes to connecting terminal. The Customs hall of TA-West connects to Concourse A-East (oopposite ticketing), which in turn leads to the Terminal B/C connector with (gates B1-16 & C16-31).

ty for reply......just one more question how long does it take to walk to TB

My connecting flight at DTW only says that its "Delta 1928". I am an unexperienced flyer and would like to know how to find it. Will there be clear signs?

'DL1928'would be the flight number which you will see listed on the overhead screens of the arriving terminal. It will also list the gate number and departure time. Delta uses the McNamara Terminal which has Concourses A & B/C (and A, B, C gate numbers). A tunnel connects in the center between Concourse A (near gate 38) and Concourses B & C (at Gates C1 of the lower level). If you happen to arrive at the North Terminal (D gates), you would need to take the shuttle bus outside, which runs every 10 mins, to the McNamara terminal, and go there through security check before proceeding to your connecting gate. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/dtw. then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

If all of your flights are on Delta then all of them will be in the McNamara terminal. If you want more help, please post info on your other flight.

  • enough time to catch flights?

Will arrive on Great Lakes at 350pm in terminal 2; need to catch a Southwest at 525pm in teminal 4. will I have enough time for everything?

To get from either Terminal 2 to Terminal 4, you must leave the secure area and catch the shuttle bus at the curb - therefore, you will need to go through security check at T4; a moving walkway connects all gates A through D on three sides of the food court. Yu have no time to waste! I suggest you open www.ifly.com/phx, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Gate 8 to 1

Hi I am landing at gate 8 and departing 1 and 1/2 hours later from gate 1. Will I have enough time if I have to check in for the 2nd flight. I will be taking carry ons so do not need to check luggage. What is the quickest way to get from gate 8 to one? Is it faster to walk from terminal 8 over to terminal 7 then across to 1? Thanks

The fastest way is to walk across the middle of the airport (there are walkways). You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time and you hurry.

We're flying into LA arriving at terminal 7. Quick turnaround to Beijing at terminal 2. Is 2 hrs enough time to make it without stress?

Do you have checked bags? If so were both tickets bought on one reservation? If your bags are checked through to Beijing and your first flight is on-time you should have enough time.

Best fastest time C31 to A48 with person in wheelchair 35 min. layover

You should contact your airline ahead of departure date that you need transfer assistance. Concourses C & A are served by the AGTS train underground (which may require to taking the escalator down to the train station), making its continuous round between Main Terminal and Concourses and stopping in the center of each Concourse. You arrive at gate area C28-C39 where you need to follow train sign and board; and after arrival at Concourse A head for gate area A40-68.

If you've requested wheelchair service from your airline they will take you on the fastest route. It shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes.

  • Terminal 4 to 3.

Hi. I will be arriving on an intl. flight on Spirit at 5:30 am. I have a connecting flight on US Airways at 6:30am. Does this give me enough time to make the connection? Is it easy to get from terminal 4 to 3? Thanks!

Unless your Spirit flight is early (which they rarely are) you'll have a very tough time making this connection, especially if you have checked baggage. You can walk from T4 to T3 outside security. However, by the time you get to T3, you will have likely missed the baggage cutoff. Also, if you have any chance of making it you'll have to check-in for your US Airways flight online before you leave on your Spirit flight. Again, by the time you arrive in T3 you will be too late to check-in.

Thanks so much for this! I won't have any checked luggage with me. Would that still be enough time for me to go through immigration and then security again? I would make sure I checked into my US Airways flight online prior to the trip. Thanks for your advice.

That will help. It will be very tight. I think you'll be able to make it if your Spirit flight is on-time then. You might want to pay for a seat assignment up front on your Spirit flight so you can get to immigration and through faster. Also, note that Spirit charges for overhead bin bags, so be prepared to pay for that.

  • Connecting flight from Terminal C to Terminal D

I am flying into Terminal C to catch a connecting flight with Delta in Terminal D. How do I get there? And do I have to go through Security again?

There is a new pedestrian bridge that connects the two terminals beyond security.

    Great thanks for the info

Is the C-D pedestrian bridge open now? Main page says it's under construction

According to Delta, it is open now.

What should one do if their license expired while travelling? anyone know if security gives a couple days grace?

Yes, they usually do give a few days grace period. However, it also helps if you have something else with your name on it with you, preferably with your photo on it (like a company or school ID).
